Having taken care of the strange new girl who's thoughts he was unable to hear, Edward turned his Volvo out of the school yard and started to drive toward his home. His thoughts were racing as he did the same down the curvy and slick roads. He had spent the majority of his day with Damienne, the two of them chatting during class, and failing to pay any attention to the instructors at all. Thankfully his gift saved them from getting in trouble on several occasions, and it also made him privy to her thoughts. He hadn't told her yet, about his ability, but he was planning to. Tomorrow maybe, after Alice had actually met her, and he could talk to his sister about her alone. Then he'd talk to her someone private and lay everything on the table.
Before long the shiny-silver car was pulling into the drive. Sadly, he wasn't alone. Everyone seemed to have beat him home, which meant getting Alice out of the house wasn't going to be an easy task at all. Emmett and Rose wouldn't likely put up any barriers, but the other three were going to be the difficulty. First things first, Edward needed to change. He never really worried about what he wore, but something in Damienne made him concerned about his appearance. What if she didn't like the clothes he wore? Laughing at himself and his insecurities Edward got out of the car, and headed into the house, straight to his bathroom.
After a quick but deliriously hot shower, he made his way to his room. Dark blue towel slung low around his hips, Edward flipped through the many clothes in his closet. Jeans, slacks, button-ups, graphic tees, too many shoes to list. A worn and comfortable pair of Prada sneakers caught his eye, and made the tough decision for him. Within no time, Edward was dressed, dark and broken in jeans hanging low, supported by a black leather belt that wrapped around his waist. A soft cotton baby-blue tee was covered with a black wool pea coat, that hung to just above his knees. Said sneakers on his feet and scarf around his neck, Edward left his room, his mind searching out to find his sister. Finding her to be in her room, he altered his course as needed and was soon in front of her door, hand raised as it knocked against the wood.
Not waiting for an answer he turned the knob and walked in “Are you ready?” He asked, agitated to find that Jasper was in the room as well. Alice was coming with her brother, and none of the Cullens were going to stop him. He needed her, selfishly (as usual), and he knew he'd never be able to relax until he knew her opinion of Damienne and the whole situation that the beautiful human settled upon his shoulders.

From the moment the flurry of texts had finished between her and Edward Alice jumped up from her bed and went straight to the Wardrobe (which took up most of the room) to find a fitting outfit to meet her best friend to be. The obvious joy that was radiating from Alice was apparent, she had been feeling guilty and depressed ever since she had 'fed' from Jasper and the sudden change in her mood would have hit Jasper like a tidal wave. Though she wasn't about to let loose the reason behind her sudden change of mood. There had been a few things she had kept from edward in the texts, like the fact she had seen this new girl perhaps becoming more than just her best friend. She felt however that Edward didn't need to know that, she knew he was a little touchy on the whole 'daming your soul' business.
Alice tried out many outfits over the hours before deciding one something smart, yet frilly at the same time. A lovely white shirt with small black overcoat and some black trousers. She fished around for some black high heel sandles to help her look less petite. She gave her reflection and Jasper a little twirl, feeling happy with the outfit. She sighed lightly catching her orange eyes in the mirror, it wouldnt take long for the red to seep through if Carlisle insisted on keeping her on human blood. She felt some of the guilt seep back through, the whole affair had been unpleasent to all of them... Some perhaps more than others, she looked to Jasper and beamed to him. Tonight would be just what she needed though... Time to get away from everything.
Her excitement only grew when she heard Edwards car pulling into the drive. giving one last look in the mirror before twirling round as Edward entered the room. She gave him a wide smile 'Been ready for ages' She giggled lightly, the first time since the incident the day before.

Jasper had spent the better part of the day, lying out on his and Alice's bed, head hanging off of the edge of it as he watched Alice parading around in outfit after outfit. Exhilarating as the experience generally was for him, he didn't have the slightest idea what she was doing it for. Something told him she was going out some place, but she hadn't really said anything to him, other than it was important for her to deal with it. Whatever it was, not knowing unsettled Jasper, considering recent events. If she was going out, she better have someone to go with her, otherwise, he'd be following her like a shadow...well, worse than he normally did. He scowled lightly as he tried to work out what she was up to. She'd made a definite improvement since yesterday.
Considering how badly he wanted to follow her if she did go out, he was under a house arrest of sorts. The events of yesterday had really taken their toll on Jasper, much as he didn't like to admit it. Carlisle had suggested that he didn't leave the house. This had made Jasper confine himself to his and Alice's bedroom. Much as he hadn't been limited to that space, he felt less of a danger in there. Every inch of him felt like it was burning and Edward's return from the school was easier for him to deal with in the confines of the one room. Even with Edward simply being outside of the house then moving up through it to his room, Jasper felt tortured by the smell of human on him from being at school all day. He had to stop himself from breaking the bedpost as he gripped it to stop himself from going and pouncing on Edward.
He held his breath the best he could as he heard and smelt Edward moving towards the room, gripping at cracking the bed post again, watching Edward upside down from where he was lying on the bed. So she was going some place with Edward then? That's what all this preparation was about. A slight twinge of jealousy tugged at his mind as he tried to stop himself from thinking much of anything. He had been happily watching Alice bouncing around before Edward had come home. In one graceful motion, he sat up and stood up beside the bed, still gripping the post as it cracked a little more under his slender fingers. "Where are you guys going exactly?" he said, still trying not to breath, his Southern accent making the question sound more threatening than conversational. Edward's attempt at a shower really hadn't gotten rid of the smell of human.

**At the Renton residence, at roughly the same time**
Damienne got home sooner than she had thought she would, having been a little reluctant to leave Edward's side. She would see him again soon enough. He'd already arranged a meeting for the pair of them later. He was coming to pick her up later. Some time before five she remembered him saying. She locked up the car, moving up the steps and letting herself into the house. Her dad wasn't home yet. The absence of his truck in the drive told her that. She locked the front door, then hung her keys on the middle hook above the phone on the stand in the hall, knowing when he did return that he would be looking for her car keys anyway. He wanted to mess with the thing yet again. He was always doing that. He looked like an unlikely person to be a mechanic, but he was and a very good one too.
He would probably arrive before Edward even set off from his house, but she hoped that she would be the one to answer the door. Her father could get a little embarrassing and brash sometimes. She trudged up the stairs, reaching the top and spinning around the top of the banister to following the landing along to her room. She opened the door, dropping her bag just inside of it as she let herself in, shutting the door behind her and resting against it for a moment. Her hand found the latch, sliding it closed before she crossed her room to her macbook. She flipped open the lid, sitting down as she pulled her cell from her pocket. She searched for Edward in her phone and logged onto her laptop at the same time. She went straight to her messenger, adding the young man she had spent the better part of her day with to the list.
After a while of sitting, scanning various things, mostly YouTube because it seemed like the best option to take her mind off of things, he came online, chatting with her for a short while. She had sat the whole time, smiling like an idiot and giggling at the slightest thing he said. At least she wasn't talking to him face to face like this and she'd managed to avoid that behavior all day. She had then heard her father coming home, telling Edward she would have to go, him saying the same and letting her know he would text her when he was setting off. At least he was going to give her some warning. She shut off her laptop, getting up quickly and grabbing her towel. Thankfully, her dad had found a house where they didn't share a bathroom, something she was quickly adjusting to: not having to share that space.
She closed her bedroom curtains and then moved into the ensuite room, checking the outer door was locked, even though it always was. She abandoned her clothes in the wash basket and jumped in the shower, forcing herself to just stand under the water from the moment she set it off. It was coldest when it was just turned on and that's what she needed: a cool down. It heated up quicker than she thought and made her shower seem to pass quicker. She got out, turning off the water and wrapping herself in the towel. She towel dried her hair with a second towel as she moved back into her room, abandoning that towel on the bed to cross to her wardrobe. She flipped through the various items, unsure what to wear really. It wasn't really a date, but she didn't want to look like she hadn't really bothered with herself.
She finally decided on an outfit, swapping back packs as well. She had far too many of them. She also picked up her glasses, clipping them to the front of her vest, she would need them later. She put her jacket with her bag, the towel from drying her hair wrapped around her shoulders now as she tried to dry her hair through with the hair drier the best she could. Hopefully, she would have time to finishing drying it and put her makeup back on before Edward arrived. She paced up and down her room as her hair drier power cable would allow, glancing out of the window for the silver Volvo hatchback she knew he owned. She should have known that would have been his, the moment she met him. She had seen it in the car park when she had arrived at school that morning.

***At the Renton House*** It had been a long day and Jason was glad to be home. Parking the car out the front and whistled an unknown tune as he made his way inside with the usual spring in his step. It had been a slow day and to be home was a blessing, though of course he loved his job. He was intending on working some more on Damie's car that evening. As he opened the door he called up knowing she was home, having seen her car in the drive 'Frankie I'm home!' He took off his coat and hung it up before heading to the kitchen to wash his hands.
Opening the fridge he rooted around for something to snack on before dinner, pulling out some cheese. He continued to whistled as he cut a slice off popping it in the mouth before putting it back and hopping up the stairs knocking on Damie's door. 'Frankie you okay? Had a good day?' He often worried whether she was settling in okay, he was sure she thought him the fool. He knew she could take care of herself, still though what kind of dad would he be if he didnt worry?

**at the Renton's**
Damienne was thoroughly distracted by the hair drier, not hearing her father pull up outside the house or come into the house. She could feel herself shaking slightly. She was nervous. What was that about? It was just a little out of school thing. Edward was just helping her catch up. It obviously didn't help he seemed to be the best looking guy in the school and she was amazed by her chances being placed with him in all of her classes and him actually taking an interest in her. She shook off the shakes as best she could, switching off her hair drier, satisfied with how dry her hair was. It could finish drying itself now. That was when she heard someone downstairs. She stopped at her dresser for a moment, listening to the sounds as she heard the fridge open. It had to be her dad. She went about looking for her eye liner as she heard him coming upstairs.
She jumped slightly as she heard him knocking on her knocking. She pressed a hand against her heart, trying to steady it for a moment. She hadn't been expecting that. She opened her door. “Hey, dad,” she said cheerfully, smiling at him and leaving her door open for him as she moved back to her dresser table. She smiled to herself as he asked how she was and if she'd had a good day. “I'm fine. Going out soon,” she explained offhandedly, looking at herself in the mirror and brushing her hands through her hair. She continued to smile. “Yeah, it was pretty good,” she went on, chewing on the inside of her lip. “Best day so far, I'd wager,” she added. She turned to him smiling, seeing a slightly look of worry. “Honestly,” she added to make sure he believed her. She'd been having a bad time at the school until today. Well, not a bad time, just not as good a time as she had first expected.
She turned back to her mirror, picking up her eye liner and quickly doing a neat line around bother of her eyes. She watched her dad in the reflection. “You alright?” she questioned. “Did you get a lot done today?” she asked pleasantly. She didn't wager she'd been that nice throughout her time at the school so far, but she hoped things would change, considering her new found friendship. Things would certainly be a lot more pleasant and surely a lot more interesting with Edward around. She shook off the thoughts subtly. She'd only just met the poor guy, now she was pinning all her hopes for Forks onto him. That was a really good start, wasn't it? She curled her fingers around the top of the back of her chair at her dresser as she leant against it, waiting for her father's response. She then crossed her room to sit on her bed and pull on her boots.

*Cullens House* Edward had been expecting Jasper to question their little outing, but he certainly wasnt going to get in the way of his plans. The threatening tone in his voice made Edwards lips curl in anger, he certainly didnt think it was any of his business where they were going. The sound of Alice's light airy giggle calmed him though. As much as Edward needed Alice to meet Damienne he was sure Alice needed the little trip too, she certainly didnt need Jasper getting in the way of that. 'Out, dont worry she'll be home before bedtime' He smirked slightly at his own personal joke, though he doubted Jasper would find it amusing.
His eyebrow raised slightly noting Jaspers thought about his smell, the events of the day before had obviously heightened his senses towards human blood. His reactions to human blood was normally hard enough to control, but Edward was certain he wouldnt be bringing Damienne anywhere near him for a while. Thats if he ever let her anywhere near his family, tonight would help determine a lot. He looked to Alice 'I'll be waiting in the car for you...' He looked back to Jasper and nodded slightly, he wasnt in the mood to be around if he decided to kick off.
He turned and headed back outside to his car, he didnt know what to expect of the evening. He wasnt sure how Damienne would take to having Alice there, but Alice had a knack of lightening any situation. Plus he could get all the information from her that he needed without Damienne knowing a thing thanks to their 'silent' ways of communicating.

*Renton House* Jason smiled at the cheery way Damienne answered. He was starting to think that moving here here was a mistake. He knew she hadn't been all that happy at school. Then again trouble at school could hardly compare to the trouble her family could cause. He grinned wide when she said she was going out, this was the first time since they had moved... Things were certainly looking up. 'Where you off to? Off with friends?' He was hoping the answer to that question was yes, he knew she needed friends around here. He wanted her to be happy, though there were always sacrifies to be made.
He chuckled lightly 'Just as long as its the truth then I'm happy' He remained at the doorway leaning on the frame, not wanting to invade her space. Jason had been treading on egg shells around her lately, not wanting to upset her any further. He knew it was tough on her, with Tobias sticking his nose in every possible moment. He was certain though that going back would not be an option, Frankie was finally going to be happy...
Jason nodded slowly 'Never better Frankie, it was busy at the shop so its all good.' He smiled, the more he worked the more he could get his mind off the mess that was his family. 'I dont want you out too late tonight Frankie... His eyes looked to her, serious, but caring. He couldnt bare the thought of something bad happening to her, not his Frankie. [/size]

Damienne lifted her eyes to her dad as she continued to talk to her as she put her boots on. She smiled at his question. “Yeah, kinda like a study date, I guess,” she replied, shaking off her words slightly and glancing down to refocus on fastening up her boots. “Just one person, though,” she added. She looked up at her dad, leaning forward on her knees, running her tongue over her teeth. “You know how I said I was sat on my own for, like, every class,” she began. “Turns out I'm not,” she added with a shrug. “The guy that's meant to sit there has been on holiday all this time,” she explained with a slight laugh before standing up and moving to her dressing table again. She smiled at her dad's reflection as she looked into the mirror. “Yeah, it's the truth,” she replied with a broad smile. “It's been a really good day,” she added.
Her attention was drawn to her phone as it buzzed on her desk, silent in terms of it didn't ring out. Her expression dropped slightly when she saw who it was that was calling her. Tobias. She slowly reached for her phone, sliding her thumb over the red button to cancel it off. She wasn't going to talk to him and he wasn't going to spoil her mood. Not now. Not after she'd had one of her best days at the school, which was being followed up by a pretty good evening outside of the school. She picked it up and slid it into her pocket, turning again to her dad as he answered her question. “Good,” she replied softly, her smile returning. She raised an eyebrow at her father's words of not wanting her out too late. “Dad, it's a school night for me and Edward,” she replied, scowling slightly. “It's hardly gonna be a 'late night' for anyone,” she went on.

The corner of his mouth twitched a little as Damienne spoke of her new 'friend' so it was a guy that was making his daughter so happy? 'Wow, on holiday during term time? Hope you dont get any strange ideas missy' He was happy to hear that she was making friends, and guy friends at that. Though the father in him couldnt help but worry a little. 'Frankie, you know I trust you, but you'll be careful right?' His eye reflected his fatherly concern. What father wouldnt be worried about his daughter going on a 'study date' with a guy? He was happy she was happy, but he didnt want to also forget that not everything was always sunshine and flowers.
He watched as her phone buzzed, judging from her reaction he didnt need to ask who it was from.. Tobias had been bothering her since before the move and it had only gotten worse. He knew Tobias was freaking out about Damienne being in 'vampire' territory, but Jason knew who ever these vampires were they were not a threat to them. Not as big a threat as their own family was at the moment. 'Things will get better Frankie...' He kept trying to convince himself those words were true, but Tobias was stubborn.
He chuckled at Damiennes responce to his fatherly rules 'Just reminding you Frankie, have a good time right?' He smirked and winked to her before turning and heading to his room to change. He was hoping that tonight was going to be the official start of a better life for both him and Frankie. Things were starting to look up.

Alice bit her lip as she saw and heard Jaspers fingers tighten around the bedpost. She knew he wasnt going to be happy about her going out with Edward, but she was going to go crazy if she didnt. She sighed lightly, Edward was being his usual charming self as usual... Alice rolled her eyes as he left and gracefully flitted to Jaspers side, her hand touched his face gently. 'Everythings gonna be fine Jazzy... I'll be back soon' She didnt linger, gracefully skipping through the door and down to where Edward was waiting.
She slipped into the back seat of the car, she gathered he would want Damienne in the front with him anyway. 'Okay EddyBear ready!' She smiled sweetly to him through the rear view mirror she was excited about meeting her, she knew it was going to be the start of something really great. She giggled lightly knowing Edward would be pissed with her calling him Eddy Bear, but she loved teasing him.

Edward waited for Alice, he had no patience for Jasper today. He just wanted to get to Damienne's, pick her up and get to the coffee shop... He smiled when he saw Alice gracefully skipping towards the car, seeing her like this always lifted his heart. He was hoping today he could put the past few days behind him, for him and Alice's sake. Though he was still scared it might happen again, he knew there was nothing he could do about it. As long as Alice was with him she would be fine.
He watched her jump into the back seat and he scowled at her comment. 'Alice, say that infront of Damienne and I swear I WILL chain you and lock you in your room and I wont take you out ever again.' He looked into the mirror and saw that pout of hers and he just shook his head and smirked. 'You just behave okay?' He pulled out of the drive fast and skillfully heading towards Damienne's house. He was driving at his usual fast pace, he was both nervous and excited about seeing Damienne again, he wasnt really sure why. Perhaps because she was the only person he actually talked to tat wasnt entangled in this whole mess.
He slowed down as he approached the house, not wanting to freak out her dad or anything. He needed to make a constant effort to behave human around her... Though he knew it was going to be harder for Alice than him. He looked into the mirror as he parked up 'You stay right here okay?' He opened the door and stepped out, he straightened out his clothes and stepped up to the front door tapping on it just hard enough to be heard. He wanted to make a good impression if anyone but Damienne was going to open the door.

Damienne saw her father's mouth twitch at the mention of a new guy friends. She smirked, laughing lightly when he said he hoped she wasn't getting ideas. “Please, dad, moving to Forks is like one big holiday...but with school,” she mused then shrugging. “Then again, I imagine that Edward could miss the whole year and he'd still get fantastic grades,” she commented, sounding slightly downtrodden by that fact. Edward was smart and it didn't even seem like he had to try much, if at all. She nodded simply at her father's request about her being careful. “You know me, dad,” she replied softly, moving over to him to squeeze her arms around him briefly. She scrunched her nose up as she moved away. “Somebody's brakes give or something? You smell like brake fluid,” she commented as she moved away from him. She couldn't deny that she enjoyed the garage smells. They reminded her of him when he wasn't there.
She turned to him as she picked up her phone, just in time to hear him speak again. “I know,” she answers gently with a meek smile on her face that she somehow knew didn't reach her eyes. “Things will get better,” she repeated his words, trying to convince herself and her dad of this, smile spreading a little. “Just don't be surprised if he comes sniffing round at some point,” she commented, knowing her dad knew who had called her. “You know Tobi...can't keep his nose out of anything,” she added, sounding a little resentful. She chuckled at his response. “You never have to remind me. Remember, I'm the good kid,” she responded with a smirk. Her siblings had hardly been very responsive to his rules. She nodded briefly. “I'll try. It's just catch up, y'know?” she responded. “Seems Edward knows far much more than I do,” she added, smiling after him as he wandered off to his room.
Damienne moved to her window just as she heard the soft purr of an engine coming down the street. She stepped back slightly, smirk spreading across her face when she saw the silver car. She chewed on her lip as she backed up to grab her bag and jacket. “I'll get it,” she called to her dad as she left her room, slamming the door behind her and jogging lightly across the landing and then down the stairs, jumping the last one. She dropped her bag on the floor and hung her coat over the banister, checking herself in the mirror near the coat rack. She scowled at herself. 'God, if I'm not ready now, I won't be ready,' she thought slightly irritably. She moved to the door, letting out a sharp breath before opening it, smiling the moment she saw Edward's face. “Hey,” she greeted pleasantly, stepping aside a second. “Wanna come in a sec? I need to get a key,” she explained, moving to get her car keys were to detached her house key.

Jason hugged Damienne back and chuckled at her reaction 'Yeah sorry Frankie, I need a shower bad I know' He winked to her and resisted the urge to ruffle her hair. He was sure she wasnt going to appreciate him messing her hair up for her date.He nodded slowly as she spoke about Tobias 'I wont be Frankie, I know Tobias all too well.' He sighed gently, he knew Tobias would not give in until Damienne was back in La Push, but how could he allow that now that she was finally settling down?
Once in his room he threw his clothes into the basket and hopped into the shower, he needed to get that engine smell off him. He scrubbed his skin and washed his hair. The hot water was so refreshing, but he wasnt enjoying it for long before he heard the knock on the door followed by Damienne shouting out that she would get it. He chuckled a little and stepped out of the shower and dried himself off. Listening out for what was happening downstairs he threw on some clean clothes and made his way down stairs.
He looked to the young man standing in the doorway and smiled. His hands tucked into his trouser pockets he leaned against the wall on the stairs. 'You must be Edward...' Well it seemed Damienne certainly knew how to pick them... He was a handsome lad that was for sure. 'Where you heading out to tonight?' He was playing the protective dad, as usual. If this guy was gonna take his daughter out then he wanted to know where they were going.

Edward listened out for movement inside the house and for Damiennes thoughts. He chuckled quietly to himself as he heard her thoughts on the other side of the door. Damienne was greeted with that charismatic smile that only Edward could pull off. 'Afternoon...' He watched her duck back inside and he stepped over the threshold, looking to the man on the stairs, whom he assumed was her father. He nodded his head to him in greeting 'Yes sir, We are just heading out to the Cafe.' He forced back the smirk that was itching to spread across his face from Jasons thoughts... 'Dont worry I'll make sure shes home at a reasonable hour.' He watched Jason nod and smile, hopefully he was making a good impression.
He wasnt fully sure how Damienne was going to react to Alice tagging along. But not only did he need Alice there, but he was sure Alice would have gone psycho on him if he hadnt invited her along. He waited for Damienne to grab her keys. 'Dont forget your study books too' He chucked lightly, he knew his presence made human girls go a bit dipsy... He was looking forward to getting to the Cafe and seeing what Alice saw, he was unsure what it was about this girl that made him so interested in her.
He heard a mental jab from Alice to get a move on and Edward smirked, he knew she was impatient to meet Damienne. He looked to her and enquired 'You ready?' He stepped out the door and turned to Jason 'Have a good evening sir, I'll look after Damienne, I promise.' He looked to the car and had to stop himself from laughing when he saw Alices face peering curiously out the window.
