Damienne smirked at Edward as he chuckled. At least he seemed amused by all of this. She narrowed her eyes at him when he smirked in a sort of self assured, disbelieving way. “I'm starting to think I'm not the only schemer in the room...” she replied with another smirk. She vaguely heard Edward mutter something, but she figured it wasn't for her ears with the way he had spoken the words. That and she was too wrapped up in trying not to fall into him or something from where she was perched on the arm of the couch beside him. His hair was soft underneath her skin. She smirked when she wondered if his hair would finally be put out of place after this. She wasn't even disappointed that it had no effect when she lifted her head again. She should have known better. She wrapped her arms around herself, running her hands up and down her upper arms for a moment. She wasn't even cold, just still kind of nervous. She was settling better though, especially now it was just her and Edward that she had to worry about.
She shrugged, smirking slightly. “Think what you want. I stand by my theory,” she replied confidently. She wasn't going to back down about this and she wasn't going to let Edward try to prove her wrong so easily. She felt even more unsettled as she spoke the word, but a dare did seem like the fair choice even though she was certain that Edward would probably think of something better, if not a little more evil than she had. She braced herself as she waited for him to present his dare. “If this is starting out small, I dread to think what outrageous dares you have in mind,” she began in reply to his choice of dare. She looked down at her feet, wiggling her already bare feet. “I think I'll pass on the shoes. I think I'm quieter without them and they would seem kind of redundant,” she commented, looking back up at Edward, considering his dare again. She couldn't even remember where her bathrobe was or even if she had one. That would definitely pose a problem, but she couldn't point it out because it would look like she was backing out.
She didn't want him to think that she was chickening out of this. She refused to chicken out of this. The game had been Edward's idea and, granted, it had shocked her that he'd thought of playing a game like this, considering it was just the two of them, but it was kind of nice all at the same time. She closed her eyes, mentally searching her bed room. She slowly opened her eyes when she finally remembered where it was. “I'm guessing that I can change in the privacy of my room?” she questioned playfully, smirking once again. “Or is there another part of the dare that you need to tell me about?” she continued. She crossed her arms over her chest and tilted her head slightly. She wasn't actually feeling as confident as she was acting, but, hell, she was going to give it a good shot, even if it was the most obvious façade in the history of ever. It would seem that she was a terrible liar where Edward was concerned. That may prove a problem in future if she so needed to hide something like she was already doing.

Edward faked a mocking shocked look on his face 'Are you trying to imply I am a schemer Damie?' His eyebrow raised amused, of course she was partially right, he did scheme, right now he was scheming ways to get more information about Damienne. He was enjoying the closeness they were sharing at the moment, he was suprised that she wasnt feeling cold in his company. He knew she kept making excuses for his coldness, but he knew it wouldnt be long before she started questioning it deeper. It wasnt natural for someone to be as cold as ice all the time, then again Edward was far from natural. He hoped though she would settle down now that Dorian and Jason had gone to bed for the night. He knew she had been nervous about the meeting, though it certainly seemed to have gone rather well. Edward could certainly hope for Dorians support if he ever encountered Tobias, though he knew that he had concerns about his relationship with his sister. To be honest, so did Edward.
He smirked at her reaction to his dare 'Well I dont want you to get bored or anything.' He chuckled gently and ran a hand through his hair watching her, seeing if she would be up for it. 'Hmm... Are you sure? I dont want you losing your feet or anything...' He wondered if she was just trying to appear brave by not taking the shoes option. The corners of his mouth wurled up as she thought about where her bathrobe was, she was certainly determined to not show any weakness to him. 'I most certainly wouldnt be a gentleman if I didnt let you dress in private would I?' He teased chuckling slightly. He sat back and watched as she headed up to her room to change for the dare. She was certainly bold, he had to give her that.

Damienne smirked over at Edward when he questioned her implication. “Observant as well as good looking,” she commented, slowly shaking her head. She tilted it slightly, still watching him. “Are you real? Did I fall asleep or something?” she questioned, still smirking, trying her best to sound innocently serious about her own words. She reached up to her hair, twirling a few pieces between the fingertips of both hands. She idly began to braid the pieces together nervously. She let out a soft sigh, watching Edward again. She ran her fingers back through the braided pieces of hair, loosening her curls out again. Now, she was messing with her hair. Great. Now, she was nervous...with no real reason to be anymore. She giggled softly when he said that he didn't want her to get bored or anything. “Oh, somehow, I doubt I'm going to be bored this evening,” she commented in a low tone. She hadn't really been bored at all, except when Sabrina had dragged her away, but that was just an embarrassment. She chewed on her lip as she watched him brush his hand through his hair.
She chuckled again when he questioned her choice of not wearing shoes. “I think I'll survive two trips around the house without shoes,” she commented, then considered it for a moment. She honestly didn't want dirty feet from running around bare foot. “I'll put my boots on,” she commented finally with a smirk. He seemed to be enjoy the idea of this dare. He had made it up though, so she imagined he'd probably thought it over. She hadn't had him pinned down to the stereotypical teenage boy mentality though. However, she liked the fact that he was lightening up a little more now. She raised an eyebrow as Edward brought up the gentleman thing again. “Dress?” she said in a low tone. “Don't you mean undress?” she taunted, speaking slowly as she moved along the back of the couch, running her hand along it, and left the room, not looking back at him as he sounded as if he was making himself comfortable. He must have had this planned all along surely. He'd suggested the damn game in the first place.
She managed to breathe finally as she went upstairs. Was she really going to do this? She scowled slightly. Too right she was. She half marched as quietly as she could to her room. She knew how Dorian could get with his super hearing. The freak. She quickly shut her curtains before turning and finding her robe. She didn't really have a bath robe, more of a dressing gown. She slid a chequered case out from under her bed, lifting it onto the trunk at the end. She unzipped it, eyes darting around for the familiar item as she dug around. She pulled a face as she pulled at the red fabric that was hidden in with all of the other clothes she had still yet to unpack. She threw it onto her bed, zipping up the case, dragging it into the little closet she used as a wardrobe. She WOULD unpack the damn thing if it killed her. She looked around, grabbing a random pair of flat boots. 'What am I doing?' she asked herself as she started to undress, throwing her clothes into her wardrobe and the wash basket as each item came off.
'Like seriously...' she continued as she pulled on the red robe. Tying it around her middle, she watched as she did the knot. “Crap...” she muttered to herself when she saw how short the damn thing was. She'd never really noticed it before. Then again, she normally wore it with more than just nothing underneath. She certainly always wore enough with it that it didn't need tying up as tightly as she was doing it. 'Focus. You can't let him beat you at the first hurdle,' she told herself as she quickly pulled on and zipped up her boots. She looked at herself self consciously in the mirror. Despite how tight she had tried to pull it together, she didn't like the V the neck was forming. She mentally shook herself, turning on her heel and quickly manoeuvring downstairs, hands tugging at the lower part of the robe, hoping against hope that Dorian, or worse, her dad wouldn't decide to leave their rooms at this point. As she reached the bottom of the stairs, she wrapped her arms loosely across her chest.
Moving to the archway in the living room and looking over at Edward, she felt like the ever so slightly brave face she was trying to put on wasn't going to last if she stood there very long. “I just thought I should show you that I changed,” she said, smirking now. She spread out her arms a little demonstratively, doing a slow twirl. 'Please don't ask me to prove there's nothing under here...' she thought a little self consciously, even though she was quite aware that that was probably more than just a little bit obvious. She moved to the door, slipping the lock in order to let herself out. Thank the stars for her dad's choice of house...in the middle of freaking nowhere. She felt the cold hit her face, neck and legs as she stepped out. She tightened her jaw a little, looking around. Even though she knew there was no one there, she still looked before setting off on her twice round trip. She kept relatively close to the house, feeling that that was probably safest, just in case anyone could see what was going on.
She tapped on both the living room window and the kitchen window that was positioned directly behind Edward where he sat on the couch as she passed them both times, letting Edward know she was there. This was kind of fun. Well, maybe more than just 'kind of'. She giggled lightly to herself as she finished the second trip around the house. She quickly let herself back into the house. “Ok, so, maybe, that was possibly a little more fun than it should have been,” she commented, still chuckling lightly to herself as she shut and locked the front door again. The air outside was sort of brisk, not really cold considering it was January and, well, this was Forks. She could feel her cheeks turning pink as they readjusted to the warmth inside the house.“Ok, your turn,” she pointed out. She knew she should probably get dressed at this point, but if she asked him what he wanted, then she could work out something a lot better than a stupid handstand dare as she pulled on some clothes.

Edward couldnt help but smirk at her comment, he was probably more observant than she was. Then again he had a super natural advantage that a poor human like Damienne couldnt even begin to match. His eyebrow raised slightly at her question 'Well that depends... Which would you pefer it to be?He was as real as she was, if not perhaps more so. 'If you are asleep, I hope it is a good dream you are having.' Though of course things could turn out to be more of a nightmare than a good dream. Every movement she made with her hair sent waves of her scent flooding over him. Her nerves were setting him moe on edge, afte all he couldnt let himself slip again, it was too dangerous. The last thing he needed right now was to go on a blood rampage in a house with a dog. 'Oh I dont know... Im not the most entertaining of people, Rosalie tells me I am rather miserable at times.' Then again he had to admit that he had been rather sulky as of late. It was because of his sudden change in mood that Carlisle and Esme had been teasing him. He knew he had caused them a lot of pain over the years. They both believed that Damienne was exactly what he needed right now.
He frowned when Damienne said she would do the dare bare footed, he didnt want her getting too cold. Though the frown disappeared and was replaced by a smile when she changed her mind. 'Good, I dont want to be blamed for you losing your feet to frost bite!' He chuckled gently. He had never played this game before, he hadnt played any sort of party game. After all the Cullen's werent really the partying type, except Alice of course. He wondered what her idea of a typical teenage boy mentality was, though he knew he was far from it. He had been a teenager in a completely different time. He liked to think he was more refined than teenage boys were in this modern age. Edward faked a shocked tone 'I'm telling you to go get dressed into your bathrobe... I would never ask you to undress' He chuckled, it wasnt like he had asked her to run around the house naked, that was all rather bad taste, and totally ungentleman like. He watched as she headed upstairs to 'dress' into her bathrobe. He didnt want to want to seem soft, hence the dare. Then again he was starting to wonder if perhaps it was a little 'forward' for him to suggest such a thing. However he was hoping after this he might be able to get some truths out of her. Though he knew she wasnt overly keen on that part of this game either. However he was hopeful he might get a few answers out of her.
Edward listened as Damienne headed up to her room to dress. He was hoping that Dorian and Jason wouldnt catch them at their little game. He didnt want them thinking he was up to anything that might hurt Damienne in anyway, or for them to get any strange ideas. He had to give it to her though, Damienne was a determined girl. He couldnt help but chuckle as she thought about her brother as a freak, but that slowly faded as he realised he too fit into that catagory, if not more so. His teeth gritted as he thought about how she might think of him once she found out his true nature. A blood sucking monster who could read her mind, she would never trust him again. He didnt want to linger on the thought too much, though it was always there at the back of his mind. His eyebrow raised slightly as he heard her curse upstairs, hoping Dorian hadnt heard it. He hoped everything was okay up there, he couldnt imagine that a lot could go wrong with getting dressed... Then again he could be completely wrong.
He looked up as she came into the living room and he suddenly realised what the cursing had been about. He was fairly sure the shock showed on his face. He suddenly felt rather guilty, he really didnt want her freezing to death, the cold was nothing for him, but for a human it was a pretty big deal. 'Erm, I think I will take your word on that one...' Of course he knew she wasnt lying to him, he would know if she was. He had the courtesy to not read her mind whilst she was getting dress, giving her a bit of privacy when changing. Seeing all that that would have been plain wrong and a little embarassing. Her gown really was leaving little to the imagination. Of course if the house had been in a more populated areahe wouldnt have dared her to do this, he was confident no one would see her. Though there was that lingering guilt at the back of his mind. 'You sure you still want to go through with this? Last chance to back out...' He smirked a little, he knew she was going to be stubborn about it and go through with it no matter what. He decided he would probably have to get her a less revealing gown. He wondered how she would feel about going shopping with him sometime. He hadnt been in a while, what with Alice being ill and having no one else to go with. It would be an excuse to get Damienne away from Forks for a day and and that really couldnt be a bad thing considering the recent events.
As soon as he heard the door click shut Edward stood and swiftly moved to the kitchen, putting on the kettle. Using his speed he searched the cupboards looking for something to help Damienne warm up after the dare. After all he couldnt really help her with that one, he was colder that ice, she would probably be warmer than he was when she got back in. It didnt take him long to find a tin of hot chocolate and he mixed it in a mug with the boiled water, chuckling as he heard her tap lightly on the windows to let him know she was actually circling the house. Of course he didnt actually need her to do that, he could hear her perfectly well, not that she knew that of course. He took the mug and placed it on the coffee table in the living room, having managed it all just before he heard the front door click open. He sat back and smiled as she came in, directing her attention to the mug. 'Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself... I made something to help warm you up, though you might want to get dressed first.' He chuckled as he saw her skin flush with the heat of the house, this night was going to turn out interesting. He considered for a second before replying 'Since We have both had a dare, I will be brave and say... Truth...' He knew it was a risk, but he didnt want it to seem like he had something to hide, it would hopefully keep her from the truth a little longer.

Damienne chewed on this inside of her lip, watching Edward as he spoke. “Real would be better...” she replied softly, trailing off for a moment. Real would definitely be a lot better than a dream. “I could live with it being a dream though,” she added with a slight shrug. That was true as well. If it couldn't be real, she would more than happily live with it being a dream. She chuckled lightly at his words about hoping it was a good dream, if it was in fact a dream at all. “Oh, there's no doubt about it being a good dream,” she replied with a smirk. Her smile faded a little into a confused look and she raised an eyebrow when he told her about Rosalie's opinion of him. “Miserable? Everyone's allowed to be like that sometimes,” she answered in a sort of half explanation before continuing. “But you've not been miserable so far...” she went on, smiling once again. “You've certainly kept me entertained,” she added, chuckling lightly before shrugging again. “Maybe I'm just simple minded,” she finished with a quick nod and smirk.
She chuckled lightly at his words about not wanting the blame if she lost her feet to frost bite. “You wouldn't get the blame anyway,” she began in explanation. “My family tends to blame who ever did it, not who asked someone to do it....” she continued, with a slight confused scowl. “If you understand that,” she added quickly with a giggle. It was a bit weird sounding. “Besides, I don't think I'd want to explain to them as to why,” she finished, smirking yet again. She bit down on her lip to fight back the laugh that was threatening to leave her lips when he tried to reword what he had asked of her when she had questioned his use of the word 'dress'. “Yeah, yeah. Reword it all ya like...” she said, trailing off as she wandered off to change. She had changed as quickly as she could, wanting to get the dare over and done with as quickly as possible. She wasn't sure if that was more because of the self conscious need to be dressed again or the idea of the cold outside. At this point, she really didn't care enough to try and work it out.
She laughed nervously when Edward said that he would take her word for it about her only wearing the robe. “Good 'cause I'm not that brave,” she admitted, continuing with her nervous laugh. She narrowed her eyes, tilting her head as she watched him. She scoffed at his word about giving her the chance to back out. “Puh-lease, I can't back out now,” she replied playfully. “That'd be like...a wasted trip upstairs,” she added with a smirk, laughing lightly again. The trip around the house seemed to drag slightly. It was cold and she just wanted to be back in the safety and warmth of inside the house, only having to worry about how she looked in front of Edward as opposed to some completely random passer by. The warmth of the house made every inch of her skin tingle as it readjusted. She nodded as he seemed glad to hear she enjoyed the little run around the house. “It was...exhilarating,” she replied, letting out a soft sigh. It really had been, in the way it was cold against her skin and how she would have never normally done that.
She followed his eyes to the table to see a mug of hot chocolate sitting there. A smile spread across her lips as she shifted her eyes from the mug to his face. She bit her lip for a moment to stop herself from awww'ing at the kind gesture of him having made her that. “That's so thoughtful,” she said softly, still smiling. She continued to smile when she heard him chuckle. The sound of his laugh was so melodic. It was nice to know she was entertaining as well, if not a little...outlandish. She froze momentarily at his answer being that he wanted to do a truth. She looked at the ceiling in thought. “Okay, bear with me and I'll get back to you on that one,” she replied with a light laugh before disappearing upstairs to change quickly. She pulled on a few things that resembled pyjamas before quickly and quietly returning downstairs. She sat down beside Edward again, leaning forward to grab the hot chocolate, a self certain smirk on her face. She hadn't taken long to think up the perfect truth question.
It wasn't exactly the deepest of questions, but she knew he was at the mercy of the game. She lifted her feet up, putting them on the seat as well, bringing her knees up closer to her chest. She held the mug in both hands, warming them up. She sipped at the hot liquid for a moment before turning to Edward with a smirk. “What's the nickname that Alice has for you?” she questioned, never breaking eye contact with him. She really wanted to know for some reason. It was probably something really obvious, but she was proud of her question and she was sticking to it. It couldn't have been something that he liked too much though. He was keen on distracting her from asking Alice about it yesterday. She chewed on her lip as she watched for his reaction. Would he take the question badly? It wasn't as if she'd asked some really deep family question. She imagine he'd have something better in mind if she chose truth on her next turn, but she didn't care. She just wanted to know this little piece of information.

Edward was amused that Damienne was enjoying his company so much, Edward was used to people ignoring him, or whispering about them behind their backs. Of course they all knew what people thought about them. The Cullens werent well liked in the school, yet thankfully Carlisle had gained a good reputation at the hospital. Damienne was so different to the rest of the kids at school though, to be fair she had the advantage of knowing that humans were not alone in the world. Then again she only knew about the shapeshifters, she was unaware that she was tempting fate by flirting with a vampire. He chuckled a little when Damienne said everyone was allowed to be miserable sometimes... Try being miserable for a hundred years he thought, anyone would get sick and tired of that 'I am perhaps a little miserable a lot of the time...' He replied softly, he hadnt found purpose in his life as a vampire, unlike the rest of his family. They had each other, he had no one and his loneliness got to him at times. 'I think Alice and Carlisle would say that you see to bring out the best in me' He smirked a little, in a way it was true, but as he had proved tonight it also brought out the worst in his true nature as a vampire. 'No your not simple minded... Just very forgiving' He chuckled gently offering her a soft wink.
Edward chuckled at her words 'Perhaps your family might not blame me, but I'm sure my father would... He is a doctor after all, he knows I should know better than to send a person out in the cold with no shoes.' Of course Edward had some medical knowledge, but nothing compared to what Carlisle had. Carlisle had perfected his bloodlust, he could perform medical miracles with his vampiric senses. His beliefs in god had made him strong and fight his curse and turn it into something good, Carlisle still believed he had a soul... Edward knew he had no soul. 'I think they might be a little curious as to why you were running around outside without any shoes one...' At least he hoped they would question it... He shook his head slightly chuckling as she headed up to her room, accusing him of rewording his sentences. She was being very bold and brave infront of him, though he had a feeling some of it was just for show. He was pretty sure there were doubts under that certainty, though he wasnt completely sure.
If vampires could blush then he probably would have as Damienne told him she wasnt that brave 'Please Damienne, you seem to think that I want to see you with the gown off...' He raised his eyebrow slightly 'I dont like to think of myself as crude as to want to see girls I have only known a few days parade around with no clothes on, I like to think myself more gentlemanly than that at least...' He shook his head slightly 'That and I dont think Dorian or Jason would be too pleased if they came down to see you naked infront of me.' He chuckled gently, though it really wasnt a subject he wanted to linger on. He clamped his teeth down at the thought of Damienne's skin close to his, her scent wrapping around her. He cursed himself silently, he needed to get more of a grip around her otherwise the evening wouldnt go down well. 'No offence meant to you or anything though...' He chuckled gently. 'Only if you are sure Damie... I wouldnt want to force you to do anything you didnt want to do...' Of course he had known she wouldnt back out.
As she came back into the house he watched her skin change colour, adapting to the heat. Something his own skin hadnt done for over a hundred years. He shrugged a little when she said that he was so thoughtful 'It was my fault you were out there in the first place, it seems only fair I help warm you up afterwards' Damn it, that sounded far too suggestive... 'I hope Hot chocolate is okay?' He didnt make drinks that often, but he followed the instrustions on the tin so he was hoping it was alright. He nodded and smiled as she said she would get back to him on his truth. He watched as she popped back upstairs and he sat back to wait for her, wondering what her question would be, his advantage over her was she didnt know about the true nature of his family... A good thing too, otherwise he knew she wouldnt be there with him.
As she sat down he spread his arms along the back of the couch waiting for her question, he was curious to see what she had come up with. He smiled as she took the hot chocolate in her hands, though his smile faded a little as she smirked and he shuffled a little as she asked her question. His hand reached to the back of his neck and rubbed in in thought 'Damn Alice...' He gritted his teeth a little, he was going to kill Alice when he got home. Her eyes were locked with his and he knew he couldnt lie to her, damn this girl, she was too tempting for her own good. He sighed slightly 'It has something to do with Eddie and perhaps a four legged animal that you perhaps associate with Emmett at the moment.' He had no idea where Alice had gotten the idea for that name but he wasnt too keen on too many people knowing about it. He already knew she had him down as Eddie Bear on her phone. He coughed a little nervously to show some 'discomfort' 'So... Your turn. He wanted to get the game moving as quickly as possible.

Damienne tilted her head and listened to Edward, a slightly puzzled look on her face. You're not miserable right now though, right?” she asked sheepishly, chewing at the inside of her lip nervously. If he was, then she really wasn't being a very good host. She straightened her head, her expression shifting into a confused scowl when he said that he thought Alice and Carlisle would say that she brought out the best in him. I don't bring out the best in people,” she replied, a little too quickly, laughing nervously before lowering her eyes to her hands. She'd always been told that she brought out the worst in people, especially her siblings. She was the youngest and the most vulnerable as far as they were concerned. They really didn't like the idea that she could hold her own. She wanted it to be true with Edward though. She liked the idea that she cheered him up if his family thought he was miserable a lot. She'd never really had that effect on anybody and it was probably nicer that it was Edward.
She lifted her eyes, smiling gently when he said she wasn't simple minded, just forgiving. Her smile remained when he winked. She'd had to learn forgiveness at a very early age. With a family like hers, it was difficult to forgive and forget, so you either went with one or the other. She laughed softly when he went on about her being out in the cold and what Carlisle would be like. She should have known he'd think of the real medical stuff surrounding the little dare. She laughed again when he said he thought people would be curious as to why she was outside without any shoes on. Yeah, but I think they'd question a little more that that...” she answered with a smirk. She really didn't want to have to explain her state of dress was due to a game of Truth or Dare that she was playing with a guy she hadn't known that long. It would have been weird. Then again, she couldn't help it if she felt comfortable around Edward. The game was lightening the mood and keeping them both distracted and entertained.
She tilted her head as Edward tried to explain himself. He was on about being a gentleman again. That he was. She couldn't deny that about him. The dare withstanding hadn't been that much of a gentleman's gesture, but it was still fun and she couldn't fault him for that and he was being a gentleman about everything surrounding the dare, taking her word for her state of dress and the like. She laughed nervously when he brought her brother and her dad into his little explanation. She wouldn't have liked the idea of being naked in front of them, let alone in front of Edward. She let out a quick breath when she stopped laughing, willing herself not to blush this time. She dropped her jaw in a mock look of offence when he said he didn't mean any. It didn't last long though, being quickly followed by a gentle giggle and a smile. I understand. Don't worry about it. No offence taken,” she replied softly, still smiling. She hoped she understood. She'd tried not to read into his words, taking them on surface value as she assumed they had been meant.
She raised an eyebrow at Edward when he said he didn't want to force her into something she didn't want to do. Oh, trust me, you'd know about it, if I really didn't wanna do it,” she replied with a definite nod and a wink. Oh, and that he would. She had mastered temper tantrums as a child and they often got her out of lots of things that she didn't want to do. They weren't so much tantrums now she was older. She could play them off a little more strategically than that. She smiled softly as he basically tried to wave off her comment about him being thoughtful with the fact that it was his fault she was outside in the first place. It was thoughtful all the same,” she replied gently, chewing furiously on the inside of her lip, nodding when he asked if hot chocolate was okay, trying to bypass his comment about helping to warm her up before she found herself blushing slightly on top of the rosey colour her skin had already become. 'Must...resist...commenting...' she thought furiously to herself.
She wouldn't know where to begin with the comment really, but his words had made her mind wander a little too much further than she was used to. She was finding it a little too easy to think about Edward outside of the 'friend' context. She mentally shook herself as she went and changed. She settled against the back of the couch, smiling into her mug as she saw that Edward was stretching his arms out over the back of the couch again. She glimpsed at him as she sipped at the chocolate liquid as he shuffled after she posed her question. Had she finally made him nervous? She smirked ever so slightly as he rubbed his neck, considering his answer, cursing Alice ever so briefly. She scowled slightly, focusing on sipping her drink when he explained what it was based around, trying to work it out. Eddie Bear?” she questioned softly, looking over at him. She smiled softly. That's kinda cute, but kinda cruel at the same time...kinda makes me feel like I wasted a question now,” she admitted with a slight laugh.
She sipped at her drink again, shaking her head slightly. Sounds like a total Alice thing...” she began, scowling slightly again. Is it bad that I know it sounds like an Alice thing?” she questioned. She felt like she knew Alice pretty well that it was scaring her a little. She knew a few things about Edward that made her feel comfortable to be around him, but still...it was just a little odd, right? She shrugged it off, shaking her head a little again. I don't think I could even call you Eddie, let alone Eddie Bear,” she said, looking at him and chewing her lip a little. You're Edward,” she said very softly and simply. She liked the name. That's what it was. She didn't really know anyone else with the name, so it seemed pointless trying to shorten it. Plus, it sounded...better as the full name. She held his glance for a moment longer before refocusing on her drink, taking another sip, considering his words about it being her turn. She had to take the focus off of him and his nervousness, right? Even though he'd practically tortured her. Truth,” she said simply, glancing to him again.

Edward shook his head slowly, he was far from miserable now... It was strange how this girl had suddenly changed how he felt about life. She was bringing a spark of hope, hope that there was something out there for him and that it had been waiting for him all this time. 'If this is miserable then I certainly dread to think what happy is...' He chuckled slightly, he was happy, it was a hard admission to make but right there and then he was happy in her company. He sighed as she said she didnt bring out the best in people, her thoughts troubled him. He could understand that she was the youngest and there was probably some weird pack thing going on in the family... 'Well how about you bring out the best in me?' He offered trying to come to a comprimise, the reason Carlisle was so happy about him seeing Damienne was because of the positive effect it had on him. He imagined he was probably a lot less miserable even with all the Alice stuff going on around him.
Edward wouldnt have wished her life on anyone, just how he would never wish his life on anyone. He sometimes wondered how Carlisle could do it... He knew he had saved them all from death but sometimes Edward wondered if this cursed life was better than dying. If he had died all those years ago would he have been better off? He would have had his soul, he would have been with god. Now there was no hope for him, his soul had been taken from him and now he had to live with that knowledge forever. His thoughts were broken a little by her laugh and he smiled 'I'm sure your probably right there...' He looked up to the ceiling, everyone was asleep, soundly asleep and for that he was glad. This behaviour would be questionable with any boy... But with Jason and Dorian knowing what he really was it made it a hundred times worse...
Edward had grown up in a totally different time to Damienne, in a time where it was shameful for girls and boys to be alone in a room together, let alone parading half naked infront of each other. Edward stuck to a lot of his old values, although cursed he still had his beliefs and he wasnt going to budge from them... Thats one of the reasons he was so stubborn, he didnt change his mind about certain things, it just wasnt the way it should be. He had no doubts that Damienne was perfect in her body as she was in everything else, but it wasnt something he wanted to linger on. Her scent drove him crazy as it was and her really didnt fancy another scolding from Alice right now. 'Good... I didnt want my words to be taken the wrong way' He tilted his head slightly watching her.
He smirked as she said he would know if she really didnt want to do it, he was amused by her thoughts of her tantrums as a child... 'Would you have a full blown tantrum on me if you didnt?' He teased gently, wanting to see what her reaction was to that. He chuckled thinking of Damienne on the floor bawling her eyes out and screaming because she didnt want to do it... 'If thats the case then I would rather you just told me you didnt want to do it... I would rather not that Dorian and Jason knew of our little game.' He chuckled, he already knew how loud Damienne could be when simply shrieking in suprise... he dreaded to think how loud she could be if she really wanted to be.
Edward had to stop himself smirking as Damienne stopped herself from commenting... It had sounded very suggestive, unfortunatly even if he had meant it to be there was little Edward could do to actually warm her up, he was colder than she was. Unlike her he didnt give off any heat, he was just plain cold... like a cold slab of marble. As her thoughts started to wonder Edward started realising just what affect he was having on Damienne, she was certainly very comfortable with him and although it made him happy it also made him very scared. As she changed he thought deeply about what all of this would lead to, even if she did accept him after she found out what he was there was no future for them. They wouldnt be able to have children and Edward would watch as she grew old and eventually died... He growled slightly pushing the thoughts away as she came back clothed in her PJs.
He cringed and nodded slowly as she said his annoying nick name. 'Yeah, thats the one...' He raised his eyebrow a little at her comment on it being cute 'Cute? and yeah its a total Alice thing...' He scowled slightly, Alice and her big mouth... Still it could have been worse, it wasnt a question that he actually had to lie aout, though he wished her had. 'No I dont think so... Alice is pretty simple to work out once youve been around her for a bit.' Alice was very unique, but at the same time pretty predictable. Since they had spent a fair bit of time together before he wasnt suprised she felt she knew Alice pretty well. He chuckled gently 'Good... I only tolerate Alice calling me that cause shes my fav little sister' He smirked, he was close to Alice, thats why he let her get away with most things around him.
He looked into her eyes and smiled before she turned her attention to her hot chocolate and her choice. He smirked as she chose truth... Just what he wanted... He frowned in thought bringing his hand to his chin wondering what to ask. 'Hmm...' After a moment he turned back and looked at her 'If there was one thing you could change about yourself what would it be?' He knew it was a rather deep question, but it was something he wanted to know. Whether she told him the truth or not he would know the real answer, Damienne really was very interesting to him, even if she didnt know it.

Damienne smiled softly as Edward slowly shook his head in response to her question as to whether he was miserable right now. That made her feel better about being terrible at this whole situation. She wasn't really hostly. He was the one who had brought them the most entertainment via the choice of playing a simple game of Truth or Dare. She laughed softly when he said he dreaded the thought of what 'happy' was if this right now was 'miserable'. 'I don't think I'd be able to cope with happy if this is sad...' she thought in amused tone to herself, a smirk settled on her face. Considering the fact she was quite content in this moment and just hanging out with Edward, being really 'happy' would probably make her head spin worse. She was already struggling a little with the fact that Edward was happy around her. It just seemed odd. She chewed on her lip, her smile fading as he sighed. He didn't seem to want to agree with the idea that she didn't bring out the best in people.
She smiled once again when he voiced a compromise. “I think I can live with that,” she said in the same moment as she thought it, though the thought continued with, 'I can more than just live with that...', even though the thought didn't really make much sense. She knew what she meant even if Edward wouldn't have had she bothered to just say that part. She watched Edward for a moment. He seemed so distant all of a sudden. She bit down on her lip, not wishing to disturb his thoughts. He really was a strange one, but she found so much comfort in his company that anything strange about him was sort of blended into the already strange background of the pair of them. 'God, if he really knew my family...then he might understand...though I imagine he wouldn't stick around for long,' she thought, letting out a very soft sigh. She half smiled at him as he spoke before he looked up at the ceiling. 'So distant...' she thought before mentally shaking herself. She kept having to do that and she was certain that he would notice eventually if he hadn't already.
She refocused on Edward with a soft smile when he said it was good that she hadn't taken his words the wrong way. She chewed on the inside of his lip as he tilted his head slightly as he watched her. She smiled nervously at him. She wasn't used to someone paying attention to her like that...in fact, she wasn't that used to anyone paying attention to her at all. Growing up with as many siblings as she had, she was used to being ignored, but now she had Edward, watching her and actually listening to her. She smirked when he asked if she would have had a tantrum at him had she not wanted to go through with his little dare. “I don't think you're worthy of a tantrum,” she teased back, smirk still on her face. She could see the image of her six year old self lying on the floor, flailing her arms and legs about as different people tried to pick her up, making as much noise as she was possibly capable at that age. She laughed lightly to herself as she thought, ' I wouldn't want to embarrass myself.'
Having a tantrum at her age would have just looked bad and she was already making enough of an idiot of herself in front of Edward. She continued to laugh for a moment. “I mean, I wouldn't want to torture you with high pitch wailing,” she joked. “And I did always have a tendency to find my feet connecting with places that...well, there was a lot of pain...for the receiving end,” she added, laughing yet again. Many a time she had brought her brothers to their knees if they grabbed her amidst a flurry of her arms and legs. She shrugged when he said he would have rather had an honest 'no' rather than a tantrum. “Me too,” she admitted when considering the idea of her brother and father finding out about their game. Dorian was bad enough with the way his mind worked and her dad...well, the less said...When she returned from getting changed, he was lost in thought again. He just seemed to snap back into things when she reappeared. Maybe she should have given him a moment or two to his own thoughts.
She watched him cringe and, in that moment, felt pretty bad for asking the question now. She had been so proud of it, up until that moment. “Yeah, it's kinda cute...but annoying, I'd imagine,” she replied with a slight shrug. “I'm kinda glad she hasn't picked some random creature to associate me with yet...” she muttered before side glancing at Edward with a smirk. Edward wasn't even the one that resembled a bear, from what he had been telling her before about Emmett, so it didn't quite make sense. She laughed when Edward made the point about Alice being simple to work out. “I bet she'd hate to hear you say that,” she replied. She thought it was standard for girls to hate the idea that they weren't complicated. She personally knew she herself wasn't that complicated. Okay, if you discounted the strange family she had, she wasn't that complicated. She laughed into her mug as he said that he could only tolerate the name from Alice, smile remaining on her face.
'Breathe...' she thought in reminder to herself after she made her choice of 'truth'. Was she ready for anything he could come out with? Would she be able to tell the truth no matter what he came out with? She glanced over at him to see his hand raised to his chin in thought. She smirked to herself as she watched him. 'How can I lie to that face?' she thought before clearing her throat and refocusing on her hot chocolate as he finally thought of something. The second he finished the question, she thought, 'everything!' and it took all of her will to not say it out loud. She chewed on her lip as she considered his question. She sighed softy before listing off a few options in her head: 'My height...my confidence...my intelligence...my inability to make friends...' Every idea that passed through her head got dismissed pretty much immediately. There was a lot she really would change. 'Everything' was starting to sound like the most realistic answer now. 'No, he said one thing. Just pick one thing,' she scolded herself.
She took another sip of her hot chocolate, only to find her finishing it. 'Great, I can't hide behind that now...' she thought as she slowly reaching forward to place the cup on the table. She leant back again, tipping her head back as she had done before, resting it on the back of the couch, not bothering to move because Edward's arm was there this time. She stared at the ceiling in thought. 'If there was one thing you could change about yourself...what would it be?' she thought, Edward's question echoing through her head. 'My inability to come to a decision quickly,' she thought, a smirk playing across her lips. She bit her bottom lip, eyes wandering down from the ceiling to look at Edward. From this angle, she couldn't really see much of him, but she noticed how perfectly shaped his jaw was, making her bite her lip a little harder. She mentally shook herself, pulling her eyes away from him, releasing her lip from her teeth. She lifted her head, simply saying “my vulnerability” before her eyes shifted to look at Edward again.

A soft smirk spread across Edwards lips as she wondered what a happier version of him would be if this was sad. Luckily for her he wasnt anything like Alice... When Alice was happy you ceratinly knew about it, he had seen less and less of that Alice recently and it upset him, though it upset Jasper more so. Edward couldnt help but feel a jealous pang at the thought of Jaspers relationship with Alice, sometimes he wanted to be there for her, but he always had to leave it to Jasper. He looked to Damienne and smiled softly as she chewewed her lip, there was something so sweet and captivating about her, it wasnt just her scent but everything about her. She didnt seem to have any self worth, but Edward could see what an amazing person she was. He didnt envy her, he could imagine growing up in a family of dogs had to be hard. He sighed softly and run a finger down the side of her face, he only wished this shy reserved girl would see how amazing she really was. 'Is it really that hard to believe?' He was glad Damienne hadnt seen his usual brooding self, he hoped she never would.
He smiled as she said she could live with his compromise. He was sure she brought the best out in others too, she just didnt see it. His deep thoughts mingled with her own for a bit, it hurt him to know the truth without her realising. Then again he knew it was the best way for now. He closed his eyes pained for a moment as she thought about how he wouldnt stick around if he knew about her family. She was so very wrong, it was the other way around. If she knew the truth about him and his family she wouldnt stick around, she would hate him for having kept it a secret... Hate him for what he was, that he was no better than her brother Tobias, that he was a monster. But he was worse than Tobias could ever be, Edward had to kill to survive and he craved human blood, more so he craved her blood. He sighed softly as he broke from his thought, looking to Damienne 'Sorry...' He smiled not really knowing what else to say. He was apologising for everything, for his distance... but also for lying to her about everything, not that she knew that of course.
Edward chuckled at the thought of her having a tantrum 'I dont think you'd want to wake your family up with you high pitched wailing either.' He teased watching her closely. He chuckled as she described how her flailing arms used to bring down her brothers... However he wouldnt really have that problem, she was more likely to break said foot or arm if she hit him, no matter where it was. He smirked back to her 'You never know... I might be very adept at dealing with tantruming Damies...' Her coming back had snapped him from his deep thoughts but he welcomed her with a soft smile. His thoughts were serious ones, but seeing her there before him relaxed him, he wanted to enjoy her company whilst he could... No matter how long that was.
He thought for a moment as she said she was glad she hadnt picked an animal for her yet. 'How about a timid lamb?' He suggested, he thought it was the best fitting animal for her 'As for me... My family say I am more of a Lion...' Emmett was the bear, it mirrored his favourite food and his fighting style, where as Edwards favoured food was mountain lion and he had a much stealthier fighting style than Emmett. He chuckled lightly as she came to the conclusion in her head that Edward was nothing like a bear, it was more the fact that Alice said that he could be soft just like a teddy bear that earned him that nickname. Though Rosalie seemed to think Alice was just imagining things. He smirked a little 'She knows I love her' They were close as siblings, sometimes he wondered how he could cope without Alice. They shared a special bond, not quite as special as her and Jasper, but special all the same.
He watched her closely as she thought about his question, her thoughts proved to him that she really didnt see any self worth in herself. It angered him that she felt that way, he knew she could be confident if she could only see that she was wrong on so many levels. She was intelligent, she wasnt stupid... Edward had seen into the minds of a lot of stupid people and she certainly wasnt one of them. On the friend front... If she believed in herself then perhaps she would make friends, other humans detected weakness and lack of confidence and tended to steer away from it. His eyes narrowed slightly, he couldnt believe there was so much that she hated about herself, he didnt see any of these things in her, she was by far her harshest critic. Then again, wasnt that always the way? Carlisle always told him he was too hard on himself, Edward didnt think so, they just had very different views on what they were and what that meant.
He watched her as she put her cup down, smiling slightly as she rested her head back onto his stretched arm. She was certainly giving this question a lot of thought, he continued to watch her as she stared at the ceiling, then smiled softly when she turned her head to look back at him. He sighed gently as she bit her lip and turned away before answering the question. He reached out and turned her face to face him, looking into her eyes sadly, he wasnt sure why she felt vunerable, was it because she was only human and her siblings were more than that? Was it because of her lack of confidence? He couldnt tell, something about her answer drew him to her, yes, she was vunerable and he wanted to protect her. He wanted to wrap her gently in his arms and make her insecurities go away. The look in his eyes was pained and sorrowful.
He leaned forward his forehead touching gently against hers, his eyes staring softly into hers. 'I wish I could help change that for you...' He whispered gently. It was true that her vunerability did draw him to her, but not because he wanted to take advantage of it. He closed his eyes and sighed gently before taking a deep breath in, savouring her scent again whilst feeling her skin against his. 'I want to protect you... Will you let me do that?' He questioned gently, he wanted to make her life pain free, he wanted her not to have these bad feelings anymore. He would protect her from her brothers, from these negative feelings and if it came to it, himself. His eyes opened again and looked into those soulful green eyes. He would happily get lost in them. 'Your too harsh on yourself you know?'
He leaned forward slightly and let his lips touch hers, he was more in control of himself than last time. He was still unsure of himself however as he gently kissed her, his eyes closing for a moment. He didnt understand why he felt so strongly about this girl before him, he wrapped his arms around her pulling her gently closer, hoping she wouldnt make any sudden moves. A soft sigh escaped his lips as the kiss parted, the taste of her on his lips sent a shiver down his body. He hoped he wasnt being too bold again as his lips found hers again, looks like the game was off... As long as he didnt mess up again, a soft growl, almost purr rumbled in his throat. His hand found the small of her back and the other reached into her hair, rustling it and savouring her scent again before parting his lips from hers and looking back into her eyes 'Your far too tempting for your own good.' He grinned holding her close to him still.

Damienne raised an eyebrow at Edward as he smirked. She laughed softly, shaking her head at him. Now, they were just being silly. She took in a sharp breath as Edward ran a finger down her cheek. She slowly shook her head in response to his question. She had to suppose that it wasn't really that hard to believe if she set her mind to it. The conversation took a pause as Edward got lost in his thoughts. She half shrugged, a soft smile on her face when he turned to her, apologising. “Don't be,” she said gently, reaching across to pat his knee lightly before returning her hand to her own lap to rest with the other. She mirrored his smile for a moment longer before casting her eyes away again. 'Now, you're just looking for excuses to touch him...stop it!' she scolded herself. She grinned broadly when he expressed his thoughts about her not wanting to wake everyone up. “Oh, yeah, of course, that too,” she replied with a soft giggle. She continued to smirk when he said he might be good at dealing with her if she had a tantrum.
“Still...you've done nothing to provoke me to go THAT far,” she answered finally, a slight smirk on her face. 'I have no doubt he could deal with it though...' she thought, swallowing nervously and blushing slightly at the idea of him restraining her. 'Inappropriate!' she thought quickly, scolding herself again. She side glanced Edward with a look that said 'oh, yeah...great'. “Lamb?” she repeated. “Damie Lamb...?” she went on in a soft whisper, closing her eyes for a moment. She opened them again to wrinkled her nose and say, “Damie Lamb”, in a normal volume, yet slightly worried tone. “You can NOT tell that one to Alice,” she said quickly, raising a finger and pointing it in his direction. She imagined she'd be slightly more embarrassed by the nickname than he was of his. She lowered her hand, smiling when he said he was more of a lion anyway. 'Lion? Wait....did he pick 'lamb' on purpose?' she thought, a slight confused look spreading over her face for a second.
“'Lion' does suit you better,” she replied as her expression straightened again. “Though, I imagine 'Eddie Lion' doesn't sound that good to Alice,” she added, teasing a little, a smirk settled on her lips. She tilted her head as she listened to Edward talk about loving Alice. She wondered what that was like: to know your brother actually cared. It wasn't really that obvious with any of hers or her sisters for that matter. She could feel Edward's eyes on her as she considered the best possible answer for his truth question and she tried her best not to meet his gaze because that would have made her take even longer in her decision. She was amazed by how long Edward could actually bare to look at her and, here she was, trying to fight looking at him to stop herself getting distracted from the original point of the silence. She was meant to be thinking about the best answer for his question. She had to keep reminding herself of that to keep her eyes off of Edward. She chewed on the inside of her lip as he grabbed her face, turning her to look at him.
She could see the sad look in his eyes. Maybe that hadn't been the best answer she could have verbalised. Maybe she should have kept that one to herself. She swallowed, slightly nervously, as she continued to hold his gaze. Maybe she shouldn't have been THAT honest about it. She held his gaze as long as she could before letting her eyes fall shut as he spoke. He wanted to help change that? 'How...?' she thought, a little doubtful. She shifted the way she was sat, never breaking the contact between her forehead and Edward as she readjusted herself. She brought her legs underneath her, turning herself completely to face Edward, her hands were curled up and resting some place between being in her lap and being on his thigh. She let out a soft sigh, opening her eyes just in time to see Edward having closed his. She smiled briefly before closing her eyes again. She felt her heart beat stutter when he said he wanted to protect her and even asked for her permission to let him do it.
She took in a shaky breath and nodded slowly. “If that's what you want...” she said in a soft whisper. She couldn't deny his request. If that was what he really wanted to do, so be it. She wasn't going to stand in his way. She'd never had someone be...like this...with her. She was just happier for the fact that it was Edward. She opened her eyes, just in time with Edward opening his. She bit her lip, casting her eyes down when he said she was too harsh on herself. 'But surely you're the same...in order to notice that,' she thought. Now, the prior braveness was melting away again. She was receding to her shy state again. This came as part and parcel of part of the reason that she had said her vulnerability. It expanded to much more than this, but it was one of the reasons. “Edward...” she whispered in a slight warn as she felt him leaning forward slightly. He'd made her promise not to let him do that. Maybe he'd changed his mind...Her eyes fell closed as his lips touched hers. He still felt unsure, which made her keep her hands to herself, resting them awkwardly in her lap.
'Please make me a promise, don't let me do that again...' she thought in Edward's voice, remembering what he had said early. She shifted slightly again as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to him, making her sit up a little straighter, curling her hands into loose fists in her lap. She didn't want to push him if he was still unsure. In the brief moment where Edward pulled away, she remembered more of the previous conversion. '...for this to work...' she remembered. 'For what to work, Edward?' her thoughts continued. 'Us...' she finished. Maybe he really had changed his mind about her promise...or maybe he was going to call her on it. She couldn't be sure and she certainly wasn't going to think about it when he kissed her again. He definitely seemed a little more certain this time as he placed one hand on the bottom of her back, sending a shiver down her spine, the other tangling his fingers into her hair. She lifted her hands slowly, bringing them up to rest on his shoulders. That was a safe place to put them, right?
Her fingers curled around the fabric again, as they had done before, just before he stopped. She opened her eyes to see him looking at her and grinning. 'Definitely more certain this time round...' she thought to herself, even though she knew there wasn't supposed to be a 'this time round' if she had stuck to her promise. She smiled nervously. “I'm sorry,” she replied softly, a slight playful hint to her tone. “I'll try not to be...” she added with a smirk, chewing her lip. She laughed softly and a little nervously. “So much for my promise...” she muttered, casting her eyes down. She wondered if he even remembered he had said that to her and made her promise that. She didn't break promises. He just made it hard for her to avoid him doing that again and she imagined fighting him would be pretty useless. She let out a breath before lifting her eyes back to his. Would he remember the one word that had really made her want to keep it? 'Us...' she thought, chewing on the inside of her lip again.

Edward smirked a little as Damienne said he wasnt allowed to tell Alice the suggested nickname. 'Sure... As long as you never call me Eddie Bear... I'm sure I will forget to tell Alice' He chuckled gently 'Though we may have to come up with a new nickname for you... everytime I say Damie its sounds like I'm cursing' He smirked a little 'I dont think you would be too impressed if I started calling you my little lamb now would you?' A little lamb in a world of wolves, attracting the attention of a Lion, how ironic. So naive and vunerable, yet caught in the middle of a dangerous mess, how could this little lamb escape them unscathed? He watched her face sighing as she thought about her name and why he had picked it. 'So I am told...' His head tilted slightly, his hunting style was very much that of a lion. He chuckled as she said it probably didnt sound as good to Alice. 'Not really' Alice only really used it because she knew Edward couldnt resist her when he was cute... She had him wrapped around her little finger most of the time. Especially at the moment.
He couldnt fully explain how he felt at that moment, he wanted to protect her, he felt so protective over her. Yet he knew that he barely knew her at all, part of him just told him it was what he had to do, whilst the other part told him she would be a tasty snack. He silently cursed himself for wanting the latter, but he was managing to keep himself under control. He smiled softly 'I never want you to be scared... of anything, including Tobias okay?' He didnt want her to be scared, if he needed to he would see to Tobias, even though he knew Damienne would have her doubts, after all she still thought he was human. He thoughts about her thoughts, Carlisle often said he was too harsh on himself, but Edward didnt see it. He deserved everything he got, he had been a monster, in a sense he still was. He could never forgive himself that, you cant change what you are and he was a monster to the very core.
Her warning went unheeded as he leaned forward to kiss her, her vunerability seemed to draw him closer to her, but he didnt feel out of control like he did last time, he knew he could pull away if he wanted to. Her thoughts echoed through his head and he frowned slightly, though he didnt pull away. He had made her promise that, it was for her own good, though deep down he knew she never would have kept that promise and he was stupid for having make her make it. He tensed a little as she thought the word Us, he knew she liked that idea, she wanted that idea. It scared him slightly to think she actually wanted him to be a part of her life. He felt her shiver slightly as he held her close, he resisted the urge to push her back, to lie with her on the couch in each others arms. Her hands resting on his shoulders sent electricity running through his body, he had definatly never felt like this with anyone, there was something so special Damienne. Besides her family of course, he had a real sense that this was right and it was meant to be this way, thought it scared him just thinking about it.
He sighed softly looking to her 'No Damienne... I'm sorry, I should perhaps control myself better...' Now he felt guilty, he had forced her to break the promise. He could see that the thought of the two of them really meant a lot to her. He reached down with one arm and pulled her onto his lap holding her gently and closely, feeling her warmth against him. 'Us...' The thought echoed through his very being, so much so he didnt even realise he had said it out loud after she had thought it. He nuzzled his face into her neck for a moment, its what she really wanted, but it broke his heart at the same time because he knew it would never last. It felt like he was being killed deep inside, at least though, he could have her for now... Even if was only for a little while. He kissed her neck gently before lifting his head and looking into her eyes 'No harm has come from it.' Yet... It was only a matter of time before something did go wrong there was no doubt about that.

Damienne made a slightly mixed up and befuddled noise when Edward said he would forget to tell Alice the new suggested nickname for her as long as she didn't call him Eddie Bear. “Done,” she said quickly as if it was a stupid request, following it up with a little giggle. She'd already decided she didn't like the sound of her saying 'Eddie', let alone 'Eddie Bear'. He was Edward and he was going to stay Edward. She laughed softly when he said they might have to come up with a new name for her. “I'm used to being cursed at,” she joked, nodding briefly, beaming over at him. “Being the youngest and the littlest, you get used to being under everyone's feet,” she said in a slightly more serious tone. Compared to her siblings, she was like the size of Tinkerbell in comparison the the Lost Boys. She laughed a little at her choice of imagery. “But...I think I'll leave you with that one,” she began in response to his original point about her needing a new nickname. “People just tend to bypass the 'cursing' normally,” she added with a chuckle.
She smiled softly when he expressed his thoughts about her not being impressed about him calling her his little lamb. She took in a shallow breath before saying, “I don't think I'd mind”, without thinking. She chewed on the inside of her lip for a moment. “You'd have to try it out and see,” she added, holding his gaze, gentle smile still on her face. 'So he did pick it on purpose?' she thought, questioning his choice of animal in relation to her. If he had picked it on purpose, she didn't really mind. She was just glad she wasn't the only one thinking of them both as a pair. She couldn't even properly place why 'lion' suited him better. Well, she could say straight off that it was better than 'bear' because he wasn't like huge. He was tall, but not real bulky. 'There he goes, tilting his head again...' she thought, chewing her lip. She found her hands lifting to her hair to run a piece around her fingers as she looked at Edward. She smiled when Edward confirmed her idea about Alice not liking the sound of 'Eddie Lion'.
She nodded slowly when he said he didn't want her to be scared of anything, specifically mentioning Tobias. 'I wonder if that'll be enough to chase away that stupid nightmare...' she thought, chewing on the inside of her lip for the umpteenth time that evening. 'I think I'm gonna use all the cold water if it happens again...' she continued. The previous night, the night Edward had brought her home and kept her away from her dad...because of Tobias...the nightmare started and she was already sick of it. She had woken up in a panic, covered in cold sweat. She had thought the best approach would be to shower and she had spent a good half an hour just standing under the cold water, hands pressed against the tiles as she tried to blink the images away. She hoped his words were enough. She was willing to believe every single one of them, so that was a start. Maybe things were going to get better. Maybe Edward could help her and her vulnerability. She really hoped so at this point.
She should have fought him off, but she didn't want to deny what was happening. She was breaking the promise for the sake of something that felt...right. Fingers curled around the fabric of his shirt, she successfully resisted the urge to slide even one hand up his neck and lace her fingers into his hair. 'Keep hands...in a safe...place,' she thought, tightening her grip on his shirt a little. She loosened her grip on his shirt, but didn't let him go when he pulled away again. She smiled softly when he said he was sorry and that he should have controlled himself better. “That could apply to both of us,” she muttered. If she had had better control, she would have stopped him, like she had promised. She withdrew a short, sharp breath, her heart jumping in her chest as he wrapped an arm around her pulling her into his lap and closer to him, causing her to lose her grip on him for a moment.
A smile played across her lips when he said what she was thinking. She had considered pulling a face, but then she'd put it down to pure coincidence that he'd been thinking the same thing and/or he'd understood her reference to the promise. She withdrew another short breath, swallowing nervously as he nuzzled his face into her neck. She closed her eyes and bit her lip, resting her head against his for a moment. She gasped softly and shivered slightly when she felt his lips on her neck. “You're right...” she said softly, searching his bright topaz eyes with a gentle smile on her face. One hand resting in her lap, she began to lift the other one. 'Stop being a wimp...' she thought to herself, slowing moving her hand towards Edward. She hesitantly ran the backs of her fingertips along his jaw, until she reach the back of it. She uncurled her fingers, placing the fingertips at the edge of his jaw, just below his ear. She rested the rest of her fingers and her palm along his jawline, her thumb brushing against his cheek. 'This can't do much harm either, right?' she thought.

Edward smiled and nodded as she agreed to his little deal 'Good... Glad thats out of the way' He chuckled a little watching her. He shook his head slowly as she said she was used to getting cursed at because she was the youngest. 'You shouldnt have to be used to it... And I dont really want to continue it...' He said softly. He could imagine it was hard growing up the youngest, especially in a shapeshifter family. He knew that shapeshifters were larger than the average human, and a lot more muscular, that in itself could be scary enough. She was so fragile compared to them, a fragile human in a world of super beings, it hardly seemed fair. He sighed gently shaking the thought from his head, he had to stop thinking those thoughts, they would only make him hurt more.
He chuclked a little as she said she didnt think she would mind being called his little lamb 'Edward had a little lamb... Her skin as white as snow, and everywhere that Edward went, that lamb was sure to go...' He smiled as she tried to place the whole lion thing, of course if she had ever seen him hunt she would agree, but that was never going to happen. Though he also fought like a lion, but then again he hoped she would never see that either... Damn it! He had to hide so much from her and it hurt so much. He didnt want to lie, but he had no choice, not just for Damiennes sake, but for his families sake too. There she went, fiddling with her hair again, she was cute when she was nervous, it made a soft smile spread across his lips.
He frowned as she thought about the nightmare again, it wasnt the first time she had thought about it and obviously it was linked to Tobias. She seemed to hope that Edward would chase the nightmare away, he only hoped he could do that for her. He watched her, wanting to hold her, protect her from the nightmares... He had already decided that he would watch over her as she slept, maybe his presence there would be enough to keep the bad dreams at bay? He himself couldnt remember what it was like to dream, he vaguely remembered the fever he had with the flu, when he was dying. That wasnt the same thing though, Edward hadnt slept for over a hundred years so he wasnt exactly a dreams expert... The thought of her scared like that made him angry, he had to supress a growl, he would get Tobias one day for this...
Those moments when their skin and lips touched sent his head spinning in delight, he knew it was wrong but it also felt perfectly right, as if it was simply meant to be. He sighed softly looking into her eyes as she searched his own 'I think... The Lion is falling in love... with the Lamb.' His voice was soft, thoughtful and silky. Having her in his lap was comforting for him, his arms held her as gently as he could and he sighed as she ran her warm hand along his ice cold jaw. He smiled to her 'So where do we go from here my little lamb? Hmm?' He questioned gently reaching his hand up to gently stroke the back of her hand on his face.

Damienne giggled for a moment when Edward did after their little agreement about their nicknames. The smile faded from her face when the spoke about her being cursed at. “You're so considerate,” she said in a whisper, laughing quietly and nervously. She looked away for a moment to refocus herself before looking back at him. “I'm intrigued to hear what you can come up with besides Damie,” she began, scowling briefly. “Or Frankie...that one's a family thing...” she added with a nod. 'And it would be super weird if you called me the same thing as say...my dad and siblings did...' she thought, resisting the urge to roll her eyes. She felt a light blush colouring her cheeks as he spoke his new rhyme. She bit down on her lip to stop her aww'ing at him. “Would Edward follow the lamb too?” she asked innocently as she looked up at him. She had thought about not asking the question, but she couldn't just sit in silence when he was being so darn precious. A soft smile shaped her mouth now and lit up her eyes.
She continued to twist her hair in her fingers, breaking her gaze with Edward to examine it for a moment. If she carried on, she probably end up wearing her hair through. She stopped twirling the curl to reach up quickly and pull all her hair over her shoulder that was closest to Edward. She was playing with it on the side that he was. If it wasn't there, she wouldn't do it. She tilted her head slightly as she noticed him frowning as she nodded. He really was serious about her not being scared and about wanting to protect, wasn't he? This gave her hope, even more than that she had felt when her dad had suggested moving from the old family home in La Push. “I won't be scared if you're there to protect me, will I?” she pointed out in question, her voice soft, a small smile on her face too. The idea of having Edward around was becoming more and more appealing by the second, if that were even possible. It was pretty obvious that she liked him now...despite the short time period and despite her wish for it not to be so obvious.
'Okay, seriously, is he trying to kill me...?' she thought weakly to herself as she felt her heart skip again as he spoke slowly in his perfect, velvety tones. She drew in a gasp of air, closing her eyes for a moment. She shook her head once, very slowly. “I don't think...the lamb's...far behind...” she whispered almost breathlessly as she opened her eyes again. 'Seems like the lamb is sure to go everywhere Edward does...' she thought shakily, smiling gently. Hand against his jaw, she shifted his fingers a little stroking the little bit of his neck that she could reach without moving her hand altogether. Her eyes flickered down from his, resting on his lips for a fraction of a second before looking down at the dip in his collarbone. 'Just kiss him...he did it to you...the worst he can do is leave...' she thought, the last part making her physically cringe. She didn't want him to leave. She lifted her eyes to his again as she felt his fingers running on the back of the hand, making the skin tingle. She smiled as he used her new nickname.
“I don't...know,” she said, stifling a small yawn with her hand that had been left in her lap. She returned the hand to her lap as she considered his question. 'Does he mean what do we do like right now...or like something else...?' she wondered. He could have meant either, considering what he said he thought he felt. Either way, she didn't really know. She didn't want to go bed yet because that would mean leaving Edward. Man, she had it bad, didn't she? She bit her lip, searching his face, eyes falling on his lips again. She closed her eyes and mentally shook herself. 'Stop it,' she scolded herself. Did she really have to keep doing that to stop herself? She didn't want to question whether or not he wanted to go to bed if it wasn't that version of the question he was asking. She didn't want to look stupid. Then again, if she didn't ask that, did it make her look clingy? She mentally shook herself again before finally opening her eyes to look at him once again, resting her head on his shoulder, her hand on his jaw slowly shifting to lace her fingers into his hair.
