Dorian chuckled lightly when Edward observed that were was always a new surprise around the corner in life, but it certainly made things more interesting. “Here, here,” he replied softly. Edward and his 'good' family were definitely a new surprise that were making things more interesting. He knew they existed, but he never thought he'd end up having one them them be so attached to his little sister. That was the last thing he would have imagined happening. He wasn't surprised that his dad had agreed with Edward comments as well. Things couldn't have been easy for him being a human, compared to the number of shape shifter children he had. He chuckled lightly at his dad's comment about tearing Damienne away from her new study buddy. “Yeah, a lot to catch up on,” he muttered with a smirk. He smirked when Edward continued to push the point about getting her to visit Seattle. “I think you're just trying to get rid of her,” he teased. “She can't be that bad,” he added, beaming at the idea of his sister winding this guy up in some way or other.
He chuckled softly. “On the other hand, you could always come with them,” he muttered, still smirking. He was instantly distracted when the others entered the room. As he said good night to his wife and son, he felt eyes on him, but that didn't stop him going through the usual routine. Lycan needed routine. This little exchange couldn't be that interesting. He smiled when his dad spoke to his son. It must have felt strange being a grandfather already. Lycan had attempted a nod in response to his grandfather's question, but it seemed like more of a twitch or something. He kept his eyes fixed on his wife and son as they left, smiling softly when he heard Edward say good night to them. He was trying to fit in. That was nice. He smirked when Edward commented on Lycan knowing his name, suggesting that Damienne and Sabrina had been talking about him in the kitchen. It wouldn't surprise him. Sabrina had been keen to meet this Edward. He hadn't been paying enough attention to them, being more interested in conversing with Edward to form an opinion on him.
His eyes flickered to Damienne as she perched on the arm of the couch nearest Edward, glancing between her and Edward for a moment. He noticed how Edward seemed a little more settled with Damienne beside him. He then considered that at least with Damienne around, Edward had someone who would probably stand up for him if Dorian hadn't have liked him. That and she no doubt knew him the best. Right now, Dorian couldn't think of much wrong with the guy except for the fact he was a vampire and he was friends with his sister. The latter was only a 'wrong' thing because of Dorian's role as the big brother. He smirked to himself before glancing to his dad. “Dammit, we can't talk about her any more,” he said, half hissing in mock disappointment, chuckling to himself as he shuffled to get comfier in the chair. He brushed a hand back through his hair. He'd seemingly lost things to talk about now because he felt like he might put his foot in it if he continued how he had before.

Damienne raised an eyebrow at her father's comment about seeing a doctor about her ears burning. “Well, they'd only tell me they were first degree burns, if anything,” she began, pausing briefly for effect. “So it'd be a pretty wasted trip,” she finished in reply, sounding perfectly sweet about the comment, despite feeling sarcastic. She hadn't intended for her tone to be like that. It had just happened. She didn't usually get paranoid, but something told her that she should be at least a little bit as such, considering she'd just let her new friend sit in a room alone with her dad and her eldest brother. She narrowed her eyes at Dorian, shaking her head at his comment about how she should have been used to being outnumbered. She never really had a choice in the matter. She should have known she'd spend most of her life outnumbered, considering the number of brothers she had and the number of shape shifters in the family, including the one sister that had changed. She only had one human sibling and that was a sister.
She smiled softly as she listened to Edward say good night to her sister in law and nephew. It was kind of cute, though, at the same time, relatively strange that Lycan had coped so well with the new name being introduced into his vocabulary. He'd barely gotten passed 'Dam' with her own first name and there he was saying 'Edward.' At least the shortened version of his name didn't sound like some cruel interjection. It was just nice to see that kids could just accept anyone. She thought it was pretty clever as well that he'd realised who she and his mother had been speaking about. She looked away quickly, a very light blush briefly colouring her cheeks as Edward observed Lycan's use of his name. She considered this for a moment. It wasn't entirely her fault. “Sabrina started it,” she muttered in defence, still not meeting Edward's gaze. Damienne had just obliged Sabrina with the minor details. It wasn't like she'd told her what had happened a couple of hours ago or anything. She'd promised to not let him do it again, so there kind of seemed like there was no point.
She sighed, trying to make the motion subtle. She was thinking again. Great. She lifted her gaze, looking around the other three in the room from her perch on the couch arm. She pulled a 'what-the-hell-are-you-looking-at' face at Dorian when she noticed him, looking at her and Edward. She buckled after a short while, too nervous to try and stare him down. She reached up under her hair to rub the nape of her neck nervously. She wasn't sure how Edward had managed to stay in this room. He was calmer than she was and she was familiar with the other two in the room. She glared at Dorian's teasing about not talking about her now that she was in the room. She rolled her eyes, shaking her head before burying her face in her knees, arms still wrapped around her legs. Dorian really picked his moments to play the sarcastic brother. 'Should I just leave now?' she began thinking to herself. 'So they can carry on...whatever. Or do I stay and let him give me crap?' she continued, mentally shaking herself afterwards. She really didn't want to leave Edward again.

Edward knew that both Jason and Dorian were not going to let the Damienne issue drop at any point soon. After all it was a pretty big deal, a girl who has a shape shifter family being close to a vampire. Though he could appreciate their thoughts he was finding it hard coping with all of them, they were bring forward all the doubts in his mind. Of course it wasnt their fault, after all they didnt know he could hear their thoughts, but it was tough none the less. He was sure all of this was amusing for them, however they didnt seem to see how much danger he was putting Damienne in, they seemed to trust him more than he trusted himself and he wasnt sure that was a good thing. As earlier had proved, it was far too easy for him to do something wrong. He looked up to Dorian as he commented about him trying to get rid of her. 'I just think it might be safer for her, for a while at least' He hid the scowl in his words, she would be safe away from Tobias and away from him. Though a smile graced his lips as he commented that his sister couldnt be that bad 'Hmm, I dont know she can certainly be a challenge at times' He chuckled lightly, she was a bit of a tease certainly...
He frowned slightly as Dorian said that he could always go with them, was that an invitation? 'I dont like intruding on other people, and it would do her good...' He trailed off as she walked in, though he was sure if she was given the chance she would drag him kicking and screaming... Well she would try at least, she wouldnt get very far, after all Edward was a little stronger than Damienne. The family exchange between Dorian and his family was bitter sweet for Edward. He had never thought about a real family, but seeing them together, and how Damienne reacted around Lycan made his stomach and chest tighten. It was something he would never be able to give to her, he was sure she would make a great mother... He couldnt deny her that in life, yet another reason why she was better off without him. He cursed himself for thinking that yet again, he needed to relax and just get through the evening. He chuckled slightly at the friendly teasing between Damienne and her father, it was nice to see a family so happy in each others company, despite the troubles they faced.
He was certainly more relaxed with Damienne there, at least now some of the teasing would be directed at her rather than just at him. Also it meant they couldnt go into too much depth about him and his own family. 'Of course she did...' He teased lightly, though his eyebrow raised slightly as she thought yet again of what happened earlier. It seemed he had made more of an impression than he had intended and now it would always be hanging over them. He watched her as she questioned herself whether she should just leave. Edward certainly didnt want her too, he had come over to spend time with her. He slipped his arm around her back squeezing her side gently, though he hoped Jason and Dorian didnt notice the squeeze. He knew she wanted to stay there with him, that both pleased and worried him a little. Though flattered and happy at the same time, selfishly he didnt want to be seperated from her either. 'We were just discussing about you going to see Dorian over spring break.' He smiled gently 'Since from what I gather you havent been up there in a while.' He took in a deep breath, savouring her scent again, and the heat of her human body through their clothing on his ice cold skin.

Jason couldnt help but chuckle as his grandson attempted to nod in responce to him. He sighed happily, it was moments like this that made all the pain and trouble worth while. Not everything in their lives were bad, there were just a few little things that got in the way sometimes. He was glad they were down for the weekend, he could get so proper relaxation, after all Tobias wouldnt dare go after him with Dorian there, and Damienne could go out and enjoy her time with Edward without having to worry about him being alone. 'Oh I wouldnt call it intruding Edward' He chuckled lightly as Edward played the ever polite, respectlful young teenager. It was a scary thought that he could be much older than he was, though it wasnt really something he wanted to dwell on for too long.
He Laughed when Damienne said the trip to the doctors would be a wasted one 'I'll have to dig out some creme for them then.' He teased lightly. He watched Edward and Damienne as they sat close, they seemed so comfy together and it made him grin inside, especially when he saw Edwards arm creep around Damiennes side. He may be a vampire, but there was something very special about him, that was for sure. Jason yawned slightly and looked to Dorian 'Well I think thats enough excitement for me tonight' He smirked as he pushed himself up with a little difficulty. 'I believe my bed is calling me.' He nodded to Edward 'Night Edward, see you in the morning... Damienne, behave okay?' He chuckled as he headed to the stairs and up to bed.
It had been a long day but he was confident things would start looking up for him and his daughter. He knew now that moving to Forks had been the right decision, he had a good job and Damienne finally seemed happy. What more could he really ask for? He only hoped it all went well, he didnt want Damienne being hurt, but it wasnt something he wanted to linger on right now.

Dorian nodded slowly, his expression sightly saddened when Edward said he thought the trip away it might be safer for Damienne, at least for a little while. He could understand that it was more than just Tobias Damienne would be safer from and something told him that Edward had considered that as well. A burst of laughter escaped his lips when Edward said that Damienne was a challenge. “That's my sister,” he commented proudly, still beaming. She may have been human, but she had a good head screwed on her shoulders and she was capable of taking care of herself with the need for brute strength. He pulled a slight face when Edward said he didn't like intruding and that the time away really would do her good. He laughed again at his father's words, covering his mouth with his hand to try and dull down the volume. “Well, don't say I didn't ask. The invitation will still stand if you change your mind,” he replied with a smirk. He wasn't sure Edward spending that much time in his house would be a great idea, but if it kept Damienne happy, he would be willing to try.
He watched Damienne and Edward for a little longer, laughing softly when Edward seemed to disbelieve Damienne's comments about how Sabrina had started any conversation about him. Something told him she was honestly telling the truth. Sabrina had been intrigued by the idea that Damienne had made a friend such as Edward already. He laughed briefly at his dad's taunting towards Damienne. She really wasn't helping herself at all. He purposefully looked away when Edward began to wrap his arm around Damienne. How Damienne had put up with years of sitting back and watching each of her siblings like that he didn't know. Maybe it was more because he was the big brother. That and he felt like he was prying. He turned to them when he heard Edward mentioning the visit. He smirked when he assumed she hadn't been up in a while. Dorian had understood completely why she hadn't really visited yet. He had come down and helped her out, but she'd not had time for Seattle yet.
He looked to his dad as he yawned, narrowing his eyes briefly. He couldn't decide if he was genuinely tired, which would make sense considering the sort of time his dad had been having lately, or if he was just trying to excuse himself with a plausible reason. He smiled softly as his father spoke, standing quickly to help the guy up. He seemed to be doing fine by himself, despite his injuries. He stopped himself, standing beside his father, making sure he was alright. He looked away to smirk and bite back a laugh when his father had told Damienne to behave. He remembered Jason's use of the instruction many years ago when Dorian had been in a similar sort of situation. He turned back to his father, Edward and Damienne, biting back his smile now. “I think that's me out as well,” he commented, smiling gently. “G'night guys, don't do anything I wouldn't,” he teased as he left the room, following his father up the stairs and to the guest room where Lycan and Sabrina was already fast asleep.

Damienne pulled a face at her father's teasing. Was she not going to escape this now? She was outnumbered and every single one of them could easily find someone to tease her about. She looked away from Edward, shaking her head as he teased her. She hadn't been the one who had brought it up. She'd simply answered questions. She lifted her head again, slowly turning to Edward with a gentle smile as he wrapped his arm around her, feeling him squeeze her side. She had to keep reminding herself that he was probably more on her side than trying to wind her up like her father and her brother. Her smile broadened slightly as she looked at Edward, letting out a soft sigh when he finally explained what they had been talking about. Something told her that that wasn't the only thing they had discussed, but at least he had told her something. She scowled slightly “Spring break? We're going to Anchorage in Spring break...grampa invited us already,” she commented.
It had been discussed before the move to Forks and he had made them say they were going up. She shrugged when Edward commented on how it seemed like she hadn't been in a long time. “I've been super busy, but...there's always weekends,” she replied with a smirk. “I mean it doesn't help he keeps coming down here,” she went on, nodding towards Dorian. She turned to her dad as he yawned and got up from the couch. He was escaping to bed. She opened her mouth to protest to his words, but he seemed to make a quick break for it. She turned to Dorian with a scowl as he followed suit, saying good night and making some silly comment. “That doesn't really leave a lot,” she retorted in a serious tone in response to Dorian. She was always quicker when it came to Dorian. With those two gone, she lifted her arms, resting her elbows on her knees and pressing her hands against her face. “Embarrassing,” she muttered before dropping her hands to turn and smile at Edward.
It was nice to be alone with Edward again. She felt less on edge. She did feel a little nervous about his arm being round her, but it was nice at the same time. “Do you want to go to bed?” she questioned, hoping he wouldn't just yet because she wasn't tired yet. “I can pull it out and disappear to my room,” she explained, gesturing towards the couch seats beneath Edward. Thank God for the couch bed. It was so useful sometimes. “Or we could try a DVD again,” she went on, gesturing towards the television now. “I think me playing Halo against you now would wake everyone up,” she commented with a smirk. She bit on the inside of her lip before reaching across to move some of Edward's hair. It was too damn perfect, even though it was sort of messy. It was really soft between her fingers. She pulled her hand back, wrapping her arm back around her leg to join the other one, waiting for Edward's choice of what to do with their time now. She kind of really hoped he didn't want to go to bed yet.

Edward couldnt help but admire Dorian, there they were, natural enemies, yet he was willing to sacrifice his comfort for his sisters happiness. He smiled 'I will keep that in mind Dorian, however I think its important for Damienne to spend quality time with her family... Without me.' No matter how much he craved her company he knew it was the right thing for her. After all he was sure she would have had enough of him by the time they eventually got around to visiting. He chuckled gently as Damienne said they were going to Anchorage 'Well it looks like your going to have a busy schedule then' It was strange how Damienne had family so close to where they had just moved from, though Tanya and her coven were much further north. It was the perfect place for a vampire like them, not so many people and plenty of animal blood...
He watched as Jason and Dorian headed upstairs to bed, it had been a long day for both of them and Edward knew Damienne would feel more relaxed once they were upstairs. He chuckled, Damienne and Dorian really were what he pictured the typical sibling to be like, teasing but loving. He had never known what it was like to have a real sibling, the Cullen's pretended but it wasnt the same at all. 'They only tease because they love you...' It was the same reason Carlisle teased him, Carlisle knew how hard Edward found their life and he was pleased to finally see Edward focusing on something positive for once. Edward was Carlisle's first companion and he liked to think they had a special bond, he was more than just his 'father' he was his guide and his mentor too. 'I get the same from Carlisle too at the moment...' It was irritating but he knew it was just because he was happy for him.
He shook his head slowly chuckling as she asked if he wanted to go to bed 'And there I was thinking you were going to try getting me into your room again.' He smirked 'But as it stands I am not tired, but if you are let me know' Of course he was never tired, he never needed sleep, he could pretend of course if he needed to. Though as it stood he might have to feign it at some point otherwise Damienne might fall asleep on the couch waiting for him to get tired. He chuckled as she tried to find things for them to do 'Hmm, I dont think a DVD will hold your attention, and I dont want you waking the whole house up cursing me for beating you...' he smirked, no the XBox battle would have to wait for another day.
'What do you think will keep your attention?' He quizzed gently, he wasnt very good at this kind of thing, he knew humans attention spans were short, where as he could sit for hours without any real problem... He smiled as she ran her fingers through his hair, he was just content to sit there with her the whole night, though she might have trouble in doing that. He thought about what girls did when they had 'sleep overs'. He chuckled at the thought 'Guess we could play a silly game?' They always seem popular and entertaining, to other girls at least. There was many a time he had snooped in on girls thoughts after a night of truth or dare, he had learned a lot of little tit bits that way. 'Or we could talk about something...' Perhaps she was more comfortable with that option, he wouldnt want to embarass any more than she was already.

Damienne stuck her tongue out playfully at Edward when he said it looked like she was going to have a busy schedule. The Anchorage trip had been planned for a while, so she couldn't just decide she wasn't going now. In fairness, Dorian only lived a few hours away, so it wasn't like she couldn't just visit him one random weekend or other when she had a bit more time. She scowled, pulling a slight face when Edward said that her father and her brother only teased because they loved her. “Well, I wish they'd give it up,” she joked, grinning and laughing lightly. She looked to Edward as he said he was getting the same from Carlisle at the moment as well. “I'm sure that's...interesting...” she began. “Has Alice started it yet? I can see her being like that...” she went on, jaw dropping briefly. “In fact, I can see her starting it with me tomorrow,” she said, a worried look on her face. She buried her face in her hands. She dreaded the idea of Alice being the same way as Sabrina or maybe even worse.
She smirked when he mentioned her trying to get him into her room. “Oh, I'm sorry, is that what you wanted?” she questioned playfully, still smiling. She laughed lightly when he said he wasn't tired yet. “I'll try again later then,” she said in a lower playful tone this time before laughing lightly again. She looked away with a smirk when he said he didn't think a DVD would hold her attention. She let her jaw drop in mock shock when he said that he didn't want her cursing waking up the whole house when he beat her. “I didn't curse before,” she said defensively, a little louder than she planned. She quickly lifted her hand to her mouth, covering it. “Ooops,” she muttered against her hand. She looked away, considering Edward's question about what she thought would keep her attention. “It's not my attention I'm worried about,” she mumbled, glancing at him with a soft smile. 'Though, you keep my attention well enough by just being here,' she thought. She brushed a hand through her hair, considering what they could do.
She smiled when Edward smiled as she ran her fingers lightly through a small section of his hair. When she dropped her hand again, she simply rested it on his shoulder, his arm still around her. She smirked when he mentioned playing a silly game. “I thought you didn't want to play silly games anymore,” she observed, hinting to their earlier conversation about their 'games'. “Although, what were you thinking?” she questioned, intrigued by what sort of game he had been considering playing. “Either way we'd probably be talking,” she pointed out when he said they could just talk about something. A game seemed like a slightly more light hearted way to go about things, but it was Edward's choice. She pulled her hand back from his shoulder, not sure if Edward was even comfortable with her putting her hands on him randomly like that. The hair thing was just a sort of friendly gesture, but yeah...still, she couldn't be sure. She used her now free hand to twirl a piece of her own hair around her fingers as she waited for Edward to speak again. She'd happily just listen to that.

Edward smirked a little as she said she wished they would stop teasing her 'You would miss it if they stopped doing it though' He chuckled slightly, he was sure spart of her enjoyed the teasing, she certainly gave as good as she got 'After all if they stopped you wouldnt be able to tease back, you seem to enjoy that part...' He thought for a moment about Alice, he didnt know whether she would tease Damienne, as it was he doubted it. 'Alice isnt intentionally like that... If she says anything that seems teasing its not in the same way as Jason or Dorian.' Alice did come out with the most embarassing things, but that was more due to her lack of human interaction than actually trying to tease. 'I'm sure she'll be on her best behaviour tomorrow though. Shes really excited that your coming so she'll be trying to make sure you feel at home' Though he dreaded to think what Alice's idea of making someone feel at home was like...
He shook his head grinning slightly and sighing 'Perhaps I shouldnt have reminded you?' He was so comfortable there with her, he only wished he didnt have to hide so much. He smiled 'You do that...' Not that he would be any more tired later... Okay he had to admit she hadnt cursed yet... Though her voice was loud enough to be able to wake everyone in the house. He listed his finger to his lips gently 'Shhh... You dont want to have Jason AND Dorian letting their imaginations run wild now do you?' He chuckled gently, Damienne needed a volume control on her for her own good it seemed... Edward enjoyed the waft of her scent that was disturbed as she brushed her hand through her hair. Her scent was still so tempting, but he was certain he could control himself better this time. 'I havent been bored yet' He smiled at her thought, he would be happy to sit there and keep her attention if thats what she wanted...
Edward had to admire Damienne, she was so down to earth and yet she had been through so much. 'Well playing console games isnt going to work, so silly games seems like the other option, unless you have a better idea?' He quizzed gently, knowing she had no better clue how to spend their time other than sitting there and staring at him. 'Hmm, I'm not sure, what kind of games do people normally play on a sleep over? I've never been to one so I dont really know' Sleep overs were pretty pointless when you were a vampire since no one slept. 'The only one I know is Truth or Dare, but that is perhaps too daring for you?' He teased lightly lifting his heand and letting his own fingers run through her hair also. He didnt mind her hands resting on him, he found it oddly comforting in fact. He was still shocked that she didnt seem to mind how cold he was... Though he was trying to be careful, he didnt want her catching a cold because of him or anything...

Damienne considered Edward's words for a moment. Would she miss her family's taunting if it ever stopped? She smirked slightly as she thought about it. Admittedly, yes, she really would miss it. It certainly kept her on her toes and gave her something to do, though it would make working Edward out easier if it didn't feel like they weren't out to get her and make a fool out of her. She laughed lightly when he observed that she seemed to like teasing them back. It was the only thing she really felt good at when she was around her family, especially Dorian. She smiled softly as Edward spoke about Alice. She looked away, barely smiling when he mentioned her being on her best behaviour because she was excited and that'd she'd be trying to make her feel at home. No where felt like home anymore and it hadn't in a long time. She let out a gentle sigh, wondering if she would ever fit anywhere at some stage in her life. She didn't fit in with her family...well, the large chunk of it that was still alive: most of her dad's side of the family was gone apart from his sister and his father.
She smirked when he said maybe he shouldn't have reminded her about her trying to get him into her room. “Oh, no, Mr. Cullen. I remembered. I just didn't think that was what you wanted,” she replied innocently, smirking still. She laughed softly when Edward told her to shush, pressing his finger to his lips. It was a cute little gesture. She continued to laugh as he spoke about giving her dad and her brother something to fuel their imaginations. “Oh, Dorian just has a dirty, scheming mind...” she began to explain, considering her words for a moment. “I dread to think where he got that from,” she added with a slight concerned scowl, knowing it had to be from her dad. “Although, I'm not much better. I just don't largely verbalise it like he does...well, used to. He seems to keep more and more to himself now that he has Lycan to consider,” she finish with another soft laugh. She felt a slight wave of her worries lift when he said he hadn't been bored yet, though, she didn't really think she could have held his attention if it hadn't have been for all the distractions.
She shook her head slowly when Edward weighed up console games against silly games, following that up by asking if she had a better idea. “Silly games are fun,” she began simply, intrigued by what Edward could have in mind. She hadn't pinned him down for someone who would want to play silly games. Subtle games like they had before maybe, but not generally silly games. It just seemed odd for some reason. “And as you can tell by my failure at finding things to do as it is, I couldn't have had a better idea,” she finished. She considered his questioning about sleep overs before laughing nervously. “I don't really do sleep overs. I've never had any friends to invite to any,” she replied in explanation. It probably made her sound like some sort of anti-social hopeless case, but she couldn't help that. She had really tried fitting in growing up, but trying to fit in like that made her unhappy because more often than not, people wanted her to change who she was and she just didn't want that.
Her jaw dropped slightly when he suggested Truth or Dare. She tried to cover that little motion up by smirking at his teasing. Had Edward really just suggested Truth or Dare? That was slightly nerve racking and totally exciting all in the same instance. “Oh, you really don't know me, do you?” she questioned in a challenging tone. “I'm good at whatever people ask me to truth or dare, but...I'm not too good at making things up,” she admitted. “Well, until I've warmed up and know the boundaries better,” she continued with a smirk. She watched his hand as he lifted it and then ran it through her hair. She tried her best to watch his hand before drawing her attention back to Edward with a smile. “Why don't you start?” she suggested, reaching one hand out towards him to straighten the collar of his shirt. It wasn't even messed up. She just felt like she had to do it. It was strange. She was doing and saying before she was thinking. It made things interesting, but she couldn't tell if she was pushing it too far. “You did suggest it after all,” she continued, lifting her eyes to meet his.

Edward could understand how Damienne felt about not feeling at home anywhere. It was the same with him, every few years the Cullens had to move to stop suspision arising about what they were. Especially with Carlisle leading such a public life they couldnt stay anywhere for too long, Carlisle had been turned at the age of 22, but he couldnt get away with being that age and working as a top doctor. He felt saddened that she felt so sad about not fitting in, he only wished he could share the pain but it wasnt the time or place to do so. So instead he had to let her suffer in what she thought was the silence of her own mind. Perhaps one day she would learn she wasnt alone, though at the same time he hoped she would never know. The feelings Edward held for Damienne were so confusing even to him, he frowned slightly wishing it all would turn out alright, though he doubted that seriously. Life was never simple for someone like him...
He shook his head smirking a little 'Mr. Cullen? I thought we had dropped the formalities Miss Renton?' He chuckled at her supposed innocence... He knew she was far from that little innocent girl she was trying to pull off. His eyebrow raised slightly as she thought that his gesture was 'cute'. Well he had never been called cute before... Not in that context at least, Jessica used to say he was cute all the time but that was totally different. 'Really? He seems to be pretty down to earth and grown up' He smirked 'Well compared to you at least' He teased slightly. He had been impressed with Dorian, he was genuinely trying for Damiennes sake, and he was a good person, even if he was a dog. The edges of Edwards lips curled in a smirk 'So if you are a schemer what are you scheming right now?' He chuckled gently wondering what her answer would be, he wondered what Damienne was going to plot in her mind. 'Perhaps you will be the same when you have a little one to think about.' He was saddened by the thought of Damienne finding someone and having a proper family, though he tried not to let his sadness show to her.
He was slightly suprised that Damienne had never had a sleep over before, then again she had mentioned how she never really fit in anywhere 'I'm sure Alice would love to have a sleep over with you Damienne' He chuckled at the thought of Alice and Damienne in a room together going girly things all night... Actually that was a pretty scary thought, Alice alone with Damienne could equal a whole load of trouble. Probably more for Damienne though, Alice would probably use he as her own personal living barbie doll. He chuckled slightly at the thought, it was amusing to say the least. Seeing Damienne wearing things from Alice's pink and frilly wardrobe with big hair and all done up... He was sure Damienne wouldnt approve of all that.
A smile spread across his lips at her shock of him suggesting Truth or Dare. There was a reason he had picked it, it gave him a chance to learn a lot more about Damienne without her really knowing about it. 'Likewise Damie... I doubt you know me very well. So your up for it?' He just hoped she didnt get too carried away, after all he didnt want the whole house waking up when she screams the house down... 'Okay... Why dont we start with a dare?' He smirked wondering what she would ask him to do. He had never really played these games before and it was exciting, if a little nerve wrecking. He could never tell what Damienne would do, she certainly wasnt predictable.

Damienne smirked when Edward questioned the return of the formalities. She chuckled lightly at his words, shaking her head slowly. She let out a sudden burst of laughter, muting it with her hand when Edward said Dorian seemed pretty down to Earth and grown up. “Down to Earth, maybe, but grown up he's not...not all the time anyway,” she replied with a smirk. Her mouth open slightly to protest about Edward's comparison of her older brother to her. “I am grown up...when I have to,” she replied, a smirk returning to her face again. A light blush started to creep up her neck when he questioned her being a schemer and what she was scheming at that moment. “Being a schemer doesn't mean that you do it all the time,” she explained in reply, still smirking at Edward. She could scheme a hell of a lot given the right chance. She chewed on her lip. She could scheme a hell of a lot about Edward if she really thought about it. She tilted her head when Edward said that she might be similar to Dorian when she had children.
She had never really thought about that. She looked away from Edward, a thoughtful scowl on her face. She had seen the lives that her siblings had had to live, she could see the lives that her nephews and nieces had to live and she didn't think she could bring anyone else into that. It seemed like it could have been one of the worst forms of punishments. Plus, she didn't want children if there was a risk that they could turn out like any one of her less pleasant siblings. She'd also never really considered the children thing before because she'd never even found someone to express an interest in, let alone plan a future with. She let out a soft sigh, reaching up her hand to rub the nape of her neck again, eyes moving towards Edward again. “Maybe...” she said softly, still not really considering punishing a child with being brought into her family. She kept her hand pressed against her neck for a moment longer before lowering it again. She chuckled softly at the idea of having a sleep over with Alice.
“I'm sure that would be more than just a little bit interesting,” she replied with a smile. Considering what she'd heard about and worked out about Alice, it would be filled with all sorts of girly stuff, stuff that Damienne probably never really bothered with. Wearing coloured clothes from time to time and using a lot of eye liner was probably as girlie as Damienne got. She smirked when Edward replied about him not knowing her very well. She didn't know him very well either, so he did pose a good point. “Sure,” she replied softly and simply. She wasn't going to back down from this, despite how possibly disturbing and embarrassing it could get. She fought back a grimace when Edward suggested that they started on a dare. A dare? Great, she sucked at making up anything good a lot of the time. She stretched out her legs, placing her feet on the floor and walked around the couch as she thought. “I dare you to...” she began trailing off, not facing Edward as she reached the other side of the couch. “...do a handstand?” she suggested before turning to him, shrugging.

Edward knew very little about Dorian it was true, though perhaps he knew slightly more than they all thought. Having an insight to someones thoughts helped see the true person behind the facade much quicker. He was satisfied that Dorian was a good person though, and that he was willing to look beyond what they both were... For now at least, as long as Damienne was happy and 'safe'. 'Well I am sure I will grow to see this side of him in time.' He smirked at the thought, a vampire and a dog getting to know one another... What a novel thought. 'Oh I dont know Damienne... I am sure you are schemeing something right now in that mind of yours.' He chuckled gently, he was looking forward to getting to know this scheming side of her, though scheming against him would be rather pointless, not that she knew that of course.
He frowned as she turned away from him when he mentioned her having a kid eventually. He hadnt thought that it would be a sore subject, but listening to her thoughts made him sigh. Of course she wouldnt wish the shapeshifter gene on her chimdren, just as Edward would never wish his fate on anyone he cared and loved. 'Sorry... That was perhaps insensitive...' He spoke without really thinking, but he was sorry to make her think such sad and serious things. He pulled her a little closer with his arm and hugged her gently. He had never thought about having children when he was still human, he thought he had the rest of his life to live for. He was wrong though and he knew now that he would never know what it would be like to be a father, even if he found someone and felt ready. It saddened him, though it was the first time he had ever felt like this, but then he had never found someone he would have wanted a proper family with before.
He watched as Damienne struggled to think of a dare for him and he laughed softly when she finally came up with one. 'Is that it?' He questioned playfully 'And there I was thinking you were going to ask me something outrageous!' He pushed himself up from the couch and looked around to make sure he wasnt going to destroy her fathers house as he gracefully cartwheeled up into a perfect handstand. His shirt rode up exposing his ice cold marble skin as he turned to her upside down and smirked 'Anything else whilst I'm like this? Or am I done?' Of course it was so easy for him, there was no look of strain on his face and his arms were impossibly sturdy, supporting his weight as if he was light as a feather.
He slowly lowered himself looking to Damienne, still looking his perfect self, not a hair out of place, his face calm and not red from the head rush a human would have got. 'Right... Your turn.' He smirked 'Truth or Dare?' He sat back slowly onto the couch and brushed a hand through his hair, wondering how brave she was feeling right now. If she said truth Edward would have a chance to learn more about her, if she chose dare he would get to push her boundries a little. Either way he was happy, though he was hoping she would think of better dares for him in the future...

Damienne chuckled lightly at Edward's words. “Um, I don't think you'd really want that,” she teased. Her brother could be pretty graphic and creative sometimes. Granted, that had rubbed off on her and she did have a pretty vivid imagination. She pulled a slight face when Edward suggested that she was probably scheming something right now. “I am not,” she replied defensively. 'Well, I wasn't,' she thought with a soft sigh. She shook off the thoughts of perhaps finding a way to get Edward to meet Tobias sooner rather than later, so that Tobias would take the damn hint and leave her and her dad the hell alone. The Cullens, well, Edward, Alice and Carlisle, had made them, well, her at least, feel more welcome in Forks, making her even less likely to leave. Then again, on the other hand, she wasn't that keen on the idea of Tobias and Edward running into one another.
She shook her head slowly when he said that his previous point had perhaps been a little insensitive. “No...” she said softly, a slight scowl on her face. She sighed gently as he pulled her a little closer to him. She rested her cheek against the top of his head from where she still sat on the arm of the chair, considering how much she could really explain to him. “There's more than meets the eye with this family...” she muttered, hoping in the same instance that Edward hadn't heard that. She hadn't meant to say that out loud, but she just wanted to talk to Edward and have everything be set out straight in front of them both, so that he understood. Much as she didn't want to pull away from him in that instance, she knew that if she didn't move, then she probably wouldn't move all night if she could help it. She lifted her head again as she began to think of a dare for him. She knew the idea had been lame the moment she had verbalised it. She was capable of thinking of better, but she didn't want to force him into anything.
She shrugged again when he questioned if that little dare was it. “You can't just make the first dare outrageous. You're meant to start out small,” she replied. Granted, she couldn't think of anything outrageous for him to do and there was probably nothing that would make him look even the slightest bit stupid. She crossed her arms over her chest, willing herself to keep her hands to herself as his shirt fell up. Her heart pounded a little unnecessarily fast as he turned to her and asked if there was anything else. 'Well...' she began to think to herself before mentally shaking off the idea. He was definitely better at handstands than she was. Her balance was okay and she could support her weight, but he just made it seem a lot easier than it normally would be. She chewed on the inside of her lip as he stood up straight again, not a hair out of place, not a drop of colour on his face from being upside down. 'He's perfect...' she began to think to herself, glancing down briefly. 'So, why is he friends with me?' she questioned herself.
She lifted her head again as Edward sat down again, stating that it was her turn and asking her the all important question. She lifted one arm from where they were crossed, tugging at the ends of her hair in thought. There was problems with either option. Why had she agreed to this again? Truth meant that he could get onto subjects that she may or may not be able to talk about. Dare meant that he could try and get her to do anything he wanted, though there probably wouldn't be many complaints...well, that depended on the dares. She didn't know what his mind was capable of making up. “Dare,” she answered quickly before she thought about it anymore. “I think that's just fair that I do one, considering that's what you picked first,” she offered with a slight shrug. Once she felt braver, she might allow for truth...perhaps. Maybe dare was the wrong choice. She mentally shook herself again. She wasn't going to back out now. She wasn't going to stand down over a game.

Edward chuckled as Damienne said he probably didnt want to see that side of him. He was likely to see it sooner than she thought but he didnt really mind. He was at ease at the moment that they were all going to try to be one big happy family. Edward wasnt really used to getting to know people and their families, it was in his families nature to steer clear of making any real attachments to the humans that surrounded them, then again Damiennes family were far from human. Of course she didnt know he knew that though, as far as she knew he was oblivious and was 100% human... 'Mhmmm...' He smirked in a 'yeah right' way... Though his eyebrow raised a little and he had to stop himself from growling, he would welcome meeting Tobias and showing him a thing or two. Though he knew that he was probably the reason Tobias didnt want Damienne in Forks in the first place. He would relish the chance to show that big bully just who he was dealing with if he even thought about harming Damienne.
Edward sighed gently, of course he knew exactly why she felt that way, it had been insensitive, its just that Damienne didnt realise it. Her words pained him slightly, he would never wis a life like this on Damienne and yet he was dragging her further into it without her knowing. It hurt him to have to keep it all a secret, to not be able to tell her that he knew already and that he infact was in a similiar situation. Though he had to respect Jason's wishes... For now at least. He closed his eyes, just enjoying having her close, letting her scent wrap around him. He wanted everything to be sorted, he wanted her to know so he could stop pretending, though at the same time he was scared that if she found out he would never see her again. 'Itsnt there always with every family?' He muttered under his breath, his family really was no different.
Edward grinned a little at her justifying herself. 'I just think you couldnt think of anything...' He teased gently. As he did the handstand he listened to her thoughts with amusement and had to force himself to not chuckle at her heartbeat and at her forcing her hands to behave. As he stood straight he looked to her and regarded her thoughts, he was far from perfect, no one was perfect, especially him. She really didnt believe in herself and that upset him. He wanted her to see how special she really was, though he didnt quite know how to do that.
He watched her from the couch thinking over her choice, dare... he wasnt sure exactly what he should ask her to do. He took a moment to think watching her, what would seem like a reasonable dare for her? 'Hmmm... How about... I dare you to run around the house twice in only a bathrobe...' He chuckled and added 'Your allowed to wear shoes though... dont want you to get frostbite on your feet or anything...' He sat back and watched her, it wasnt too bad, it wasnt like anyone would see her or anything, of course it was cold outside, but it was only twice around the house, not a marathon. He was sure she would survive.
