It was just a difficult situation Edward was in now. He did regret what had happened, but not for any reason that Damienne might be thinking, he regretted putting her life in danger. He couldnt deny he had enjoyed that moment, but it was wrong. His teeth had been against her neck, he had been so close, so tempted to bite. He couldnt let himself do that again. He knew this was going to be hard, he had a feeling that Damienne wouldnt stop him if they were in that situation again and that made staying around her a lot more dangerous. His only option was to make sure he stayed as full as possible when around her, he couldnt let himself get hungry again, not around her. He was still suprised she hadnt yet flinched from his ice cold skin, then again perhaps she was more tolerant of strange things. After all she had dogs as brothers and sisters...
Edward sighed slightly, she had become so dependant on him being there over the past few days. He was happy that he was bringing her happiness when she thought she could never settle down in Forks, but at the same time he was terrified that he had done the wrong thing by getting this close to her so soon. He let a soft chuckle leave his lips as she sighed happily and the thought of 'us.' 'You like that thought?' He questioned softly, he liked the thought too... Once he forgot how selfish he was being and how much danger he was putting her in. Edward smirked a little as she 'snapped' at him 'You could have fooled me...' he chuckled softly, he wanted to try make light of the tense situation he had caused. He closed his eyes briefly as he felt her warm hands on his ice cold face, opening them again and sighing... Why was she so perfect?
He smirked a little as she said she wished she could understand him and she couldnt wait until she could 'You might not wish that once you do understand me... Its all a little complicated.' He was terrifed that the day she fully understood him was the day he would lose her forever, though he hoped that day would never come he knew it would someday. 'Hmm... Is that a problem?' He smirked back to her, of course he had good reason to be self confident... He had many advantages over humans in all activities, plus he had the bonus that he could tell her stratagies from reading her thoughts. 'We ended up throwing our consoles out... Emmett ended up breaking them too often' He chuckled lightly, Emmett was a bit of a sore loser, they went through a lot of controllers when he got pissed that Edward and Jasper whooped his ass... 'Hmm, Halo?' He suggested, he was willing to give her a little bit of a chance... Maybe.

Damienne hoped that things wouldn't stay awkward. She wouldn't bring up what just happened if he didn't bring it up first. She was sick of the staring and bitchy comments she'd heard from other people around the school that day, just from some people seeing them out together the evening before and that outing had been a little more innocent than this encounter. Thank God her house wasn't a public place. She dreaded to think what people would be like at school on Monday. Thank God for her dad's choice of house being slightly out of town and hidden away. Otherwise, there'd be a combination of this evening and the fact that she was going to be spending tomorrow at his house and he'd be returning to her house on the Sunday. Yeah, if even one person witnessed any of this weekend, she couldn't imagine what the rumours would have escalated to. She wouldn't mind them because, hell, anyone who was lucky enough to be seen with Edward would be lucky to have any sort of rumours...in some weird way.
She tried to straighten her expression as Edward questioned whether she liked the thought of 'us'. She looked away from him, trying to keep her expression straight, yet thoughtful looking. She finally cracked a gentle smile spreading across her face before she looked up at Edward again. “Yeah,” she replied simply and softly, nodding briefly. Whatever the 'us' may be, she liked the thought. She definitely liked the thought. She narrowed her eyes playfully at her when Edward smirked at her little outburst. “Yes, well...” she began, slightly taken aback by his words. “I was just...confused,” she explained with a single, moment defining nod. She watched him as he closed his eyes, tilting her head as she did. She kept her head tilted as he opened his eyes again and sighed. She straightened her head as she dropped her hands from his face, shaking her head. “Boys,” she began simply. “You just like to confuse us girls, don't you?” she joked, chuckling lightly. She'd never really been that confused by boys, but Edward was different.
She tilted her head again as he said she might not with to understand him once she finally did, adding that it was all a little complicated. “That would explain why I can't understand you right now,” she replied encouragingly with a smirk. “I think I can handle complicated,” she said, sounding both serious and slightly amused. She knew all too well the sort of complicated lives people could have. Hers was relatively complicated, well, not so much now most of her siblings had moved away. She beamed at him when he asked if him being stubborn and self confident was a problem. “Nope,” she replied simply, shaking her head for a moment. She paused, watching Edward as he spoke about throwing their consoles out because of Emmett. She giggled remembering the conversation they had had earlier about Emmett. She laughed so much that she fell back, sitting on the floor as opposed to being crouched. She waved a hand in front of her face, trying to calm herself down. “I'm...sorry,” she managed between mini giggle fits.
She was hyper. She could feel it. That had to explain the bad giggles. That and the idea of a grizzly bear in a pink and fluffy tutu. She continued to wave her hand in front of her face, trying to focus on Edward. “Grizzly...in a...tutu,” she managed, still giggling, eyes closing again as she continued. She lifted her knees, her legs still stretch out in front of her, dropping her head between her knees to try and catch her breath, hands resting on her thighs and she tried her best to suck in more air. Just when she thought she was calm, she looked up and over in Edward's direction, bursting out into laughter again, pressing the back of one of her hands against her mouth. It was better she got this out of her system now as opposed to when she met Emmett. She leaned forward again, then sat up quickly, taking in a deep, yet quick breath. She let it out again and spent a moment trying to catch her breath. “I'm sorry,” she apologised again, giggling softly and briefly. She nodded when Edward said Halo, dropping the disc into the drive and picking up the controllers.
She dropped one in Edward's hands, keeping her favourite one for herself as she sat down beside him. She looked at him, grinning, letting out another breath. She wouldn't have another giggle fit. “That was fun,” she said, chuckling briefly before picking up the television remote and changing the channel to show the Xbox loading screen. She dropped back against the back of her sofa, resting her head on the top for a moment before sitting back up quickly and leaning forwards, resting her elbows on the tops of her knees, her feet flat on the floor. “Oh, come on,” she mumbled as she bounced slightly where she sat, wanting the game to load quicker. “Bring on the new console at Christmas,” she said enthusiastically, beaming at Edward. She must have seemed like a real nerd, but this was who she was and she was just trying to lighten the mood some more. Her giggle fit had surely been entertaining enough. Well, it had definitely been entertaining for her. She'd not even met poor Emmett yet.

Edward didnt want this, he hadnt meant to confuse her and make her feel this way. Then again it was better that she felt this way than her being dead and the Cullens being attacked by dogs. Edward smirked slightly as she said boys just liked confusing girls 'You girls just make it far too easy though' He chuckled with her, at least the atmosphere was starting to lighten. He wanted things between them to be good for when Dorian arrived, the last thing he needed was a dog on his back for upsetting his sister. He knew all of this was going to be hard for Damienne to take in but she would have to live with it... He certainly didnt want her finding out the truth... They would be happy together until the time came for the Cullen family to move on again. He was saddened by that thought, but it was the way it had to be, it could be no other way.
Edward chuckled 'I dont doubt that you can handle most complicated things... But this is more complicated than you can imagine...' With her own complicated life he knew she could cope with more than the average human, though he knew there was still a lot about life in La Push and Forks that Damienne still didnt understand. He sighed slightly, he had a feeling that Damienne was going to try and fish answers out of him, he was going to have to stay alert and keep his guard up. He couldnt afford any slip ups with Damienne, for both her and his families sake. He really wasnt looking forward to Rosalie meeting his family, he hadnt realised when he invited her how much trouble he might be causeing within their family unit.
His eyebrow raised slightly as Damienne started to giggle and a smirk came across his face... 'Try not to giggle when you meet him tomorrow... He might not be all that amused.' Though he had to chuckle that the thought of Emmett in a tutu. He kneeled down next to where Damienne was and smirked 'Come on Damie, keep breathing. I dont want to tell your dad you suffocated thinking of my brother in a tutu...' He had a feeling this party tomorrow was going to be the most stressful thing she had ever had to deal with, and he had been through a hell of a lot. 'No need to apologise... It is a rather amusing thought... Hmm, a Grizzly in a Tutu playing Xbox...' He smirked and winked to her, poor Emmett...
Edward took the controller and sat down chuckling looking at Damienne bounce impatiently. It made Edward chuckle, humans always wanted instant gratification... Edward however didnt mind waiting, he had a lot of time on his hands. 'Got a bit of a wait there then... Think this game might have loaded before December?' He teased chuckling as he sat back, controller resting in his lap. Most of the kinds in Forks didnt even have consoles, it was one of those small towns were most lived in poverty. Of course thats what made the Cullens stick out so much with their designer clothes and expensive cars.

Damienne watched Edward with a smirk. She narrowed her eyes at him when he said girls just made it too easy for boys to confuse them. She shook her head slowly, unable to stop herself from smiling. “Or not,” she replied quickly. “Guys are just complicated,” she added with a smirk. 'Edward even more so,' she reminded herself with a gentle smile. She would happily say Edward was the most complicated guy that she knew and that was without really knowing everything about him and in comparison to all the guys in her life, such as her brothers. She tilted her head, listening to Edward as he continued to speak about his own complicated life. At least he thought she could handle the complicated things. “Well,” she began, letting out a slow breath and shrugging slightly. “I'll wanna find out eventually. Complicated or not,” she said, a serious, yet a very genuine tone to her voice. She wanted to know about Edward and what made him so damn complicated. She wanted to understand Edward.
She didn't even fully understand where the giggle fit had come from, but at least she'd got a grin out of Edward. Her expression fell in the brief moment when Edward had said that Emmett might not be that amused about her laughing at him for reasons he wouldn't know, but that passed quickly and she was laughing again. 'Damie?' she repeated in her head. Had he really just called her that? She grinned at his use of one of her nicknames. At least he'd stopped with the Miss Renton thing, cute as that had been. She was trying her best to do as he asked and keep breathing between bursts of laughter. Her giggling worsened at the idea of the look on her dad's face if Edward had to tell her that story. Just when she thought she was calmed down when Edward said she didn't have to apologise, he continued the joke. “Edward!” she said, louder than she'd planned, clamping her hand over her mouth and laughing more, screwing her eyes shut. Having her eyes didn't help, it made a visual.
She finally calmed herself down and had moved to the couch to sit with Edward. She wasn't trying to seem impatient. She was just sort of hyper now, which was lightening the atmosphere greatly...well, at least for her. She shrugged, smirking at Edward's comment about the game loading before December. “Well, the new console's out in November, but I can't just buy it outta the blue,” she said, shrugging. “But that doesn't mean the game will load before then,” she added, laughing lightly just as the game loaded. Controller in her lap, she stretched her arms out to the television. “But stranger things have happened,” she commented in a bright tone before picking up the controller again. She shuffled back into the couch, lifting her legs, putting her feet on the edge of the couch, her knees tucked close to her chest. She rested the controller on the tops of her knees, closer to her as the game began. She chewed on her lip as she waited, glancing to Edward with a soft smile.

Edward shook his head slowly 'Girls can be just as confusing...' It was true, though not confusing for him. A smirk spread across his face as she thought about how he was more confusing then most... He couldnt help that, though it was true his life was more confusing than a regular human boys life. 'Hmm' He considered as she said she wanted to find out one day 'Maybe one day you will...' Though he seriously hoped it wouldnt come to that, although he wanted Damienne to understand he knew that it could cause a divide... He doubted she would be as understanding as her father, even if she was there was no future for her with him. Hecouldnt give her the normal life her and her father so desperately craved. Though it pained him that his secret would eventually rip both of them apart, he just wanted to enjoy it for now...
Edward chuckled as she shouted out his name between fits of giggles 'Shhh Damienne... We dont want your dad getting any ideas... Well, any new ones at least' He chuckled 'What DID you take whilst I was out???' He quizzed playfully, Damie was certainly high on something it seemed. Well at least the mood was lightened again, it helped him to forget how all of this would end badly no matter what happened. 'I dont want your dad and brother thinking I was slipping you drugs or anything...' He had to force himself to stop laughing, even when he saw what Damienne was picturing with her eyes shut 'Come on you... if you continue like this I'll definatly win against you...' He smirked, he would give her a chance... Perhaps.
Edward shook his head slightly and chuckled, his family never really paid much attention to video games and the such, most games just werent challenging enough for them. 'I take it Santa knows you want one then...' He teased lightly. Christmas was one of the things the Cullens still celebrated, after all with Carlisles past and Edwards religeous upbringing they found some solace in it. It was just the whole birthday thing they never really saw the point in any more... Edward chuckled and leaned back into the couch, the controller resting in his hands on his lap. His eyes looked to Damienne as she glanced over to him and he smirked 'Ready to lose?' He teased, he was finding her scent much more bareable now at least... He could concentrate on showing damienne just how skilled a gamer he could be.

Damienne smirked when Edward said girls could be just as confusing. She couldn't really disagree much, apart from the fact that Edward seemed to be able to read her like a book. Maybe she just wasn't that confusing to him or something. She looked away from him when he spoke about her maybe finding out about him one day. She let out a subtle sigh. He really wasn't going to give anything up, was he? Plus, he didn't seem too entertained by the idea that she wanted to find out. What could be so wrong? She looked up at him again, head tilted as she tried to fathom out what could be so horrible that he didn't want to share and he didn't want her to find out. Something about the way he was being made her unsure as to whether she wanted to find out later rather than sooner, despite the urge to quiz him to see if he would slip up at all. It seemed that the sooner she found out, the worse off she might be. Would he disappear if she knew whatever it was? That was one thought she didn't want to entertain for long.
She had to stop thinking about it. He wasn't going to just tell her. She shook off the thought as best she could so she could carry on trying to improve the atmosphere. She was glad Edward seemed entertained by her giggle fit and how she'd shouted his name. She continued to giggle when Edward suggested that she could be putting new ideas in her dad's head by shouting his name like that. “I'd be seriously worried about the ideas he'd get if he heard melaughing and shouting your name,” she replied, laughing more at that idea. There would be different ideas if she was going anything, but laughing. She hoped she'd sounded to amused more than anything else when she shouted it. She was a little worried as to what her dad would think if he heard her. Her jaw dropped and her laughing stopped in the instance Edward asked what she'd taken when he'd gone. “Nothing,” she outburst defensively. “I guess I'm just drunk on...” she began, pausing as she thought 'you' before finishing her sentence slightly awkwardly with “...air”, a new blush colouring her features now.
A flash of a thought through her mind at Edward's mention of what her dad and brother would think, causing a new burst of laughter. It wasn't the mention of her dad or brother, it was more the way Edward had worded the comment. 'Gosh, that was inappropriate,' she thought quickly to herself, still blushing from laughing and the previous thought. She continued to chuckle, her mouth clamped shut as best she could keep it when Edward said he would definitely beat her if she carried on like that. She beamed at Edward when he teased about Santa knowing what she wanted. “I should freaking well hope so,” she replied, trying for serious, though clearly sounding amused. “Though, I feel the jury may be out as to whether I've been a good girl or not,” she added, nodding and unable to control the new smirk that spread across her face. She tried to fight back a giggle, hearing the noise in her throat, but not letting it out completely. She kept her eyes fixed on Edward as he asked her if she was ready to lose. She slowly shook her head and looked at the screen again.

Edward shrugged and chuckled 'You never know... Dads come up with all sorts of weird things in their head...' and Edward would know... He shook his head sighing slightly as she started laughing again 'What to do with you Damienne...' Though a smirk spread across his lips as she admitted in her thoughts that she was drunk on him... though corrected herself to say air. 'You cant get drunk on air... Maybe Oxygen, but not air, something tells me your not telling the whole truth' He chuckled shaking his head slowly. He reached out and gently ran a finger over her cheeks, she looked so pretty when she blushed... 'You certainly are a strange one Damie...'
Edward smirked as Damie said about not being a good girl 'Why doesnt that suprise me at all?' He shook his head as he heard her giggle escape, his presence didnt nomally do this to humans did it? He knew he tended to get some girls a little giggly, though he never thought Damienne would be affected that way. He chuckled as she shook her head... He was certainly going to prove her wrong, Edward could be pretty competitive when it came to games, not as bad as Emmett, but still pretty competitive... He watched as Damienne selected the options to start the game, Edward took a moment to work out what all the buttons did, Damienne had that slight advantage but then Vampiric memory was far superior to human memory, he waited for the multiplayer game to load up. He stole a glace to Damienne and smiled.
Edward heard Jason stir again upstairs, though this time it sounded like he was getting up. Though Edward knew it wouldnt be long until Dorian made an appearance so he was sure Jason would want to be up to welcome his son. Edwards gaze flickered to the ceiling then back down to the screen, he wasnt looking forward to the meeting. He didnt know how Dorian would react to him, and how he would react to Dorian. He only hoped things would stay civil for Damiennes sake. Jason had assured them that Dorian had the same view as him, though the hatred between the two factions ran so deep, they had never met and so they could never tell how things would turn out...
As the game started Edward skillfully played, though his mind was only half there. His reactions so quick he didnt even need to read Damiennes mind to stay out of her line of fire. 'You'll have to do better than that...' He commented as he skillfully dodged out of her way, he had warned her and he wasnt even paying full attention. He was also listening to Jason and listening out for Dorians arrival. There... Who said men couldnt multitask? Well Vampiric ones anyway. He heard Jason pause upstairs as he listened to what they were doing, playing the good dad and checking up on his daughter. Thanks to Alice he wasnt coming down to bloodbath... Well off screen anyway.

Damienne pulled a slight face when Edward mentioned that dads could come up with all sorts of weird things in their head. If she was anything to go by, then her dad could probably come up with some stranger things just because he was older than she was. She let out a soft breath when Edward wondered what to do with her. He had wondered the same before. She quickly shook the memory out of her head. She didn't want to bring it up again, just when she felt like she'd fixed the moment by cheering up and willing herself to be a little more hyperactive. She scowled slightly when Edward called her on her comment about being drunk on air and getting a little pedantic about it. “Okay, drunk on...life, maybe?” she offered with a smirk. She smiled when he commented on how he knew that maybe she wasn't telling him the whole truth. “Maybe I'm not, but something tells me that I'm not gonna get very far if I do tell you the whole truth, so I'll keep that one to myself for now,” she replied gently.
She closed her eyes briefly as he ran a finger over her blushed cheeks. She couldn't help, but smile when he commented on how she was strange and used a nickname on her again. “Yeah, but you like that I'm strange,” she observed, shrugging briefly. “Otherwise, you would have left by now,” she continued with her observation, still smiling. Her jaw dropped in mock offence when Edward questioned her being a good girl. “I've been perfectly good until...recently,” she retorted, giggling for a moment. She needed to stop giggling. The thought of the Emmett thing combined with a few other things that danced around her head weren't helping. She needed her game face on and it just wasn't working. She felt eyes on her, shifting her eyes to look at Edward. She smiled softly at him before looking back at the screen as she game loaded. She half glanced at Edward, a serious look on her face now. 'My mind's not exactly focused right now,' she thought, biting her tongue to stop her saying it out loud.
Dorian would be here soon and she was sure as hell going to beat Edward at least once before he got here. “I clearly just need to practice more,” she commented in a low tone, still slouched back against the back of the couch. She felt her phone buzz in her pocket and the message tone begin. It was just a text. She reached to her pocket quickly, grabbing haphazardly just to press a button to get the tone to stop. She had to beat Edward. She kept her eyes as focused on the screen as she could, occasionally glancing at Edward. This was nice in a strange sort of way. At least there was no uncomfortable silence. She smiled softly, refocusing on the screen again. Her brain really wasn't engaged in the game now she'd put it on, but she was more focused on this than she had been on the film. She shuffled in her seat slightly, still keeping her legs pulled up and her hands holding the controller on her knees. He was clearly better at this and there seemed to be no way to beat him.

Edward frowned slightly as he realised his phrase had caused her to remember what had happened earlier... Smooth move, now she was thinking about it again. Though he chuckled a little as she corrected her original sentance, though he knew she still wasnt telling the truth. 'As you wish...' Though of course he knew exactly what she had really meant to say, but him knowing that was going to be his little secret. They had a lot of secrets, though he had the unfair advantage of knowing hers without her realising it. He smirked a little, boy was he gonna be in trouble if she ever found out he could read her mind... He had a feeling she might get a little sulky over that little detail. Then again she may never find out... That was the hope anyway.
He smiled as she relaxed and closed her eyes, it was nice to know she enjoyed his company. 'I like that your an individual... Your different to all the other girls I have met.' That was definatly true, Damienne was the only girl he had ever felt like he wanted to know, all other girls were just there. Damienne was totally different, he wanted her to be a part of his life, he wanted to be a part of hers as well. 'Hmm really? Are you sure about that? What have you been up to to not warrent getting your new console?' He quizzed gently chuckling at the thought of a little devil Damienne, he couldnt really see it... Though he had found out earlier she certainly could be naughty if she wanted to be. He chuckled lightly as the game started, beating her really was going to be too easy.
Edward easily beat Damienne time and time again, but it was keeping her focused on the screen rather than him which was a definate bonus. He kept the games long and interesting for her, but it was obvious she wasnt going to beat him. 'Thats alright, I got all the time in the world' He smirked as she said she needed to practice more. Though no amount of practice would be able to beat his quick reflexes, he started to feel a little sorry for her after a while... Perhaps he should let her win at least one, if it would make her feel better about things... As time continued he could swear her concentration increased with every game. It amused Edward to watch and soon the time was flying by.
They had managed to kill that last hour very nicely and as Edward dodged and weaved away from Damienne on screen he heard a car pulling up. He tensed slightly as the scent of dog reached his nose, so Dorian had arrived. He tried concentrating on the screen and not about the man who was approaching the house. As the door opened Edward purposefully made a wrong move giving Damienne the perfect chance to nail him... He felt bad for her long losing streak and he grinned as she finally won a round 'Looks like you got me' He acted as if he had no idea Dorian was just entering and he smirked lightly to her. He knew she would know he let her win, but it wouldbe amusing to see her reaction... He dodged as she threw a punch in his direction and he chuckled as he stood and turned to face Dorian. He was trying to stay calm and relaxed, but the smell of dog made his stomach tighten and he felt his teeth grit together... This was going to be interesting...

Damienne narrowed her eyes slightly at Edward's response. Her expression softened after a moment and she shook her head slowly. “And you say I'm strange...” she replied softly to his response to her correction of her previous sentence, smiling gently. She continued to smile, chewing her lip slightly as he explained that he liked that she was an individual and that she was different to the other girls he'd met. She let out a soft laugh. “You say some of the nicest things,” she said in a low, gentle tone. He really did. Some stuff was mixed in with the more confusing parts, but, generally, he said some really nice things all on their own. 'And I don't deserve any of them,' she thought to herself, casting her eyes away from him and sighing. “I can safely say you're very different to any of the guys I know,” she offered, looking back at him with a smirk. “You're a lot nicer, for one,” she added. 'And a lot better looking, for two,' she thought, trying to shake the thought off quickly. A lot of the guys she knew were her brothers to be fair.
Her jaw dropped in mock shock again as he questioned her comment about being good until recently. She really had been though. Edward seemed to bring out this whole new side of her, a side that he had admitting to liking. It was just that, now, it was a little inappropriate. She smirked. “I am sure, thank you,” she replied with a light laugh. “Well...” she thought for a moment before answering his question as to what she had been up to that wouldn't get her the new console that she wanted. “Nothing at all as far as Santa knows,” she added with a smirk, glancing up in the direction of her dad's room when she mentioned 'Santa'. “Unless he heard something and let his imagination run with it,” she finished, a combination of the playful tone and that of a childish know-it-all shaping her voice, an eyebrow raised at Edward. The joking around again felt better than quizzing him about other things...for now, at least. She brushed a hand back through her hand, brushing it all back over her shoulders, so that it ran down her back.
Edward beat her several times over and she figured that the games were only so long because he was good at working her out. She had ended up sitting properly, feet planted on the floor, her elbows resting on her knees, controller gripped tightly in her hand, focusing on the screen. She was going to beat him at least once. She had to. It got to the point where even glancing at Edward for a brief second wouldn't break her concentration and she was even at the stage where she'd start trying to resort to cheating by standing up and getting in the way of his line of sight or something, but she didn't even try that because something told her that he could probably play without seeing the damn screen at all. 'Stupidly perfect Edward Cullen,' she told herself. If he had been anyone else, that thought would have been lined with competitive malice, but it wasn't. She was more just reminding herself of the fact, which threw her off her game yet again for a moment at least. “Dammit,” she hissed as he beat her once again.
She was focused on the screen, but even she could tell that Edward made that last wrong move on purpose. “Ha!” she exclaimed as she finally beat him, jumping up from her seat and throwing the controller onto the coffee table. She'd involuntarily thrown her arms up in the air where they just sort of tried to work out what they were doing by themselves before she turned on Edward. “I only got you 'cause you let me,” she replied quickly, angry at herself that she hadn't been able to beat him another way. She reached over to thump him for letting her win when he stood up and quickly moved out of her way. She turned, opening her mouth to say something to him again when she saw that Dorian and the others were standing in the archway. She clamped her mouth shut, quickly grabbing the remote to turn off the television, stopping the silly noises. “Hey...Dorian,” she greeted, slightly awkwardly, not sure how long he'd been stood there. “And Sabrina and Lycan,” she continued, finally getting her ground, beaming at the little boy in Sabrina's arms.
She brushed passed Edward to go and take Lycan from Sabrina's arms, stopping him doing his reaching out and opening and closing his hands over and over. “Did you have a good trip?” she asked Dorian before realising she'd not even introduced everyone. “Oh...um....Dorian, Sabrina and Lycan, this is my friend, Edward,” she introduced, looking over at Edward. “Edward,” she began softly, letting out a gentle breath. “This is my eldest brother, Dorian, his wife, my sister in law, Sabrina, and my nephew,” she went on, nodding to the little boy in her arms who was happily playing with something of the longer curls from her hair. “Lycan,” she finished proudly, resting her cheek against the top of his head. Lycan moved his head from under her cheek, rubbing one of his eyes and pulling a face. 'Auntie Daaaaam,' he spoke, clearly still half asleep from the drive. 'Pea Bee an' Jay?' he asked. Damienne closed her eyes, shaking her head slowly. “Pea Bee an' Jay?” she imitated. “It's a little late, isn't it?” she asked to another face being pulled from Lycan.

The drive from Seattle had been pretty quiet once Lycan had dosed off after they had been driving for about half an hour. Sabrina had fallen asleep a little along the way too. Lycan had been a handful all day and Dorian had been at work, so he couldn't have lightened the load. It had then occurred to him that he should really go and visit his dad, considering what he had heard. It was all well and good Damienne and dad saying that he was okay, but Dorian just wanted to be sure, even if it did mean taking Sabrina and Lycan down to Forks for the weekend. It sounded like, well, after a lengthy conversation with his dad, that there was more to tell than just the Tobias incident anyway. Dad sounded so pleased about something, then he had explained about Edward. It was sort of out of the blue and the conversation had been very hushed until he had been certain that Damienne couldn't hear. So, she'd taken an interest in someone...that had been a good start to the conversation, finding out his little sister had finally made a friend and one that had caught her eye.
Dorian only saw the bad in it when his dad had explained Edward's...background. He had never gone from that excited to hear something to totally disappointed about it so quickly. It was so unfortunate. Damienne wouldn't even be aware of that, unless Edward had manned up and told her, but, by the sounds of things, she really didn't know. He had assured his dad that maybe it was for the best, for now, couldn't go ruining the girl's moment. It had, however, made Dorian all the more eager to come and visit. There may have been a twist in the good news about Damienne finally making friends, but it sounded like no one else had really made an effort with her and that she was really taken with this Edward. Dorian would give him a chance. For Damienne, he would give anyone a chance. He'd never really had anyone to give a chance to with Damienne, but he was willing to do the same for her as he had done for his other siblings, no other treatment just because he happened to be a vampire.
Driving up the road to the house, he could already smell the vampire in the air. By the sounds of things, three of them had been there the night before and one was there at the moment because Damienne had invited Edward over. He parked up, getting out of the car and grimacing. It was going to be one hell of a night with Edward in the house. Though, one vampire, one shape shifter, four humans. The odds weren't really on anyone's side. He waited for Sabrina to get Lycan out of his seat in the back of the car as he pulled their case from the boot. He locked up, one hand carrying the car, the other resting against the small of Sabrina's back after he had shoved his keys in his pocket. He let them in, his dad having let him know the door was open, but to be careful because he didn't know what Edward and Damienne were up to. He put the case down near the bottom of the stairs, taking Lycan's bag from Sabrina and putting it with the case. He stood arms crossed over his chest as he waited for his sister to acknowledge his presence.
He beamed at her when she finally responded. “Do you not read your messages?” he questioned teasingly as she seemed surprised that they were there already. He had sent a message when they were practically in town. He nodded when Damienne asked if they had a good trip, more anxious to see if she'd introduce Edward. He offered Edward a small smile and a courteous nod when Damienne introduced them all. “Nice to meet you,” he tried, trying to keep his voice level. The smell...there was no hiding the vampire from him. The smell was tickling his nose, causing him to reach up and hold his hand over it for a moment, covering up the motion by scratching it and turning to his wife, his sister and his son. Maybe he should have left Sabrina and Lycan at home. He hadn't really needed to bring them. Though Sabrina had been Edward to meet this Edward as well. She didn't know the full story either. She barely spoke about what he was to be fair. He watched his wife politely smile at Edward, saying it was nice to meet him.
He smirked at the exchange between Lycan and Damienne. “I think you're easily demoted from best auntie if you don't get him his sandwich,” he taunted, still smirking. He looked straight at his son, dipping his head down to face him directly from where he was sat in Damienne's arm. “Just a little one, okay? Then we see your gramps and it's bed time, little man,” he instructed, finishing with a smile and a nod. He straightened again. “Speaking of, where is the old man?” he questioned, looking to Damienne and fighting back a smirk at the idea that really Edward could be the old man here, but only two people in the house would know that. He crossed to the bottom of the stairs again, trailing his hand along the bottom of Sabrina's back as he passed her. He leant on the railing at the bottom of the stairs. “Dad?” he called, hearing his dad pottering around his room. “I have a certain little imp that wants to see his gramps,” he called with a smirk, turning to Lycan to give him a brief wink.
He moved away from the bannister, standing in the archway to the living room again and looking at Edward. He crossed his arms over his chest and looked over at the, on surface value, younger boy standing in his father's living room. “So, Edward,” he began, still flinching slightly from the smell. “I hear your in all my baby sister's classes at her new school...bet that's something,” he commented, smirking over at his sister. “How long have you lived in Forks?” he questioned, changing the subject slightly, intrigued at what Edward's response might be. If Dorian was on the right train of thought, Edward was one of the vampires that the Quileutes had designed the original La Push/Forks treaty around. Thing was that treaty didn't really stretch to the Rentons. They weren't originally descended from the Quileutes and his own ancestors had disregarded the treaty once they settled in La Push because they didn't live on the reservation like the rest of them. He was certain he could ask Edward more fitting questions when everyone was out of earshot.

Edward nodded slowly as she jested that he called her strange 'Thats because you are...' He chuckled lightly, she was strange, she certainly wasnt the 'normal' girl in Forks, but thats what made her so interesting. 'Being strange isnt always a bad thing.' He mused gently, he knew he and his family were certainly strange, the same could be said about her family. His eyebrow raised gently as she thought she didnt deserve the comments 'I only tell the truth Damienne...' Even if she didnt see it all herself, she was too modest for her own good. 'Hmm, not all the time I'm sure...' He smirked at her thought, he was sure even the plainest boy would look good when turned into a vampire, thats just the way things worked...
He chuckled as she said she had done nothing bad as far as Santa knew. 'If thats the case I would keep your voice down a little...' Edward frowed a little thinking of the situation that Damienne and Jason were in. Jason wasnt going to be working for the next 6 weeks, he knew it was going to be very tight for them, though Edward knew Carlisle wouldnt mind him helping them out some if they needed it. 'Your father certainly seems to have an active imagination.' He chuckled, having seen some of his thoughts he certainly did think some interesting things... 'Well better keep that illusion up if you want that console' He chuckled, he never really had Damienne down for the geeky type, it certainly made her very different to the rest of Forks.
Edward had to hide his amusment as she accused him of being stupidly perfect, he was starting to feel sorry for her, and thats why he let her win at least one... He chuckled as he dodged her punch 'Sorry Damie, had to put you out of your misery... You were getting all serious on me...' He turned and watched Damienne greet her brother and his family, staying back not wanting to interfere. He was forcing himself not to growl at the disgusting smell of dog in the room. But he could tell the feeling was mutual, vampires and dogs were natural enemies, it was like trying to tell a mongoose and a snake to get on. But for Damienne's sake he was going to do his best. He returned the nod to Dorian 'The pleasures mine... Damienne and Jason only have good things to say about you.' He smiled, though it was hard with the smell.
Edward let Damienne have her family moment, he could hear Jason moving to come downstairs. He wasnt all that suprised when Dorian turned his attention to him, he was sure Dorian wanted to check him out completely. Though he knew the real grilling would be when Damienne wasnt around to hear. 'Its nice to have company, Damienne's certainly different to most the girls at Forks High.' He looked to Damienne and smirked a little, she was the most unique girl there outside of the Cullens of course. 'We moved down from Alaska a few years ago, my father was head hunted for a job at the hospital here.' He looked into Dorians eyes, he knew that wasnt the answer he was looking for, but he certainly wasnt going to tell him the truth infront of Damienne. It was her fathers wish that she remained unaware of what and who Edward really was.

Jason had spent most of the evening sleeping, he was sore all over from his beating from Tobias and he just felt so tired all the time. He had been amused when Damienne had offered for Edward to come over, Jason really liked the kid. He and his family really were amazing people, it wasnt their fault what they were. After all its who you are, not what you are that counted. The last hour had been pretty quiet downstairs, but Jasons alram had gone off and he knew Dorian would be arriving soon so he needed to get up and ready. He pulled on a new shirt over his bandaged chest and slipped his splintered arm into the sling Carlisle had made up for him before he headed downstairs to the familiar voice of his son calling him.
'Hey who are you calling old?' He smirked in his normal cheerful tone as he slowly made his way down the stairs. He smiled warmly to his son, it was good to have him there, he knew he could always depend on Dorian to be there for him and Damienne. He reached out and pated Dorian on the shoulder in the same way he always did when he came to visit. 'So wheres that little imp of mine?' He chuckled as he looked over to Selina and nodding in greeting, then to Damienne and his grandson Lycan. 'How was the trip?' He moved over to Damienne to give Lycan a big sloppy grandpa kiss on the forehead.
He knew that Dorian would have a lot of questions for Edward and he tensed slightly as he started asking questions. He knew this wasnt going to be easy, but he wanted Dorian to be as happy for Damienne as he was 'After the other night I can see why too... Carlisle is certainly very good at him job' He smirked through his pain. Carlisle had given him some strong painkillers, but he was still in a lot of pain. 'Please excuse this old man...' He chuckled as he lowered himself onto the couch with a slight grunt. 'So Dorian, whats new with you guys?' He smiled looking to him and Selina. It felt like too long since he had seen his son, but it was good to have him there again.

Damienne smiled as Edward spoke. She wasn't going to argue with that. She thought she was a little strange, if she was honest with herself. So, he thought she was strange, she thought he was strange. It just seemed to balance out. She chuckled lightly when he said that being strange wasn't always a bad thing. She nodded slowly before saying, “Of course not”, as if the idea of being strange was a bad thing was an absurd one. She smiled softly at him when he said he only told the truth. “It's nice that someone can be honest,” she replied gently, still smiling a little. She chuckled slightly when he said she should keep her voice down if she wanted things to run well. She nodded slowly when he commented on her father's active imagination. “Yep, that he does,” she replied. “He's smarter than most people give him credit for too,” she added, just to make a point. She shrugged when he suggested that she should keep the illusion up if she wanted the console. “Hell, if Santa doesn't get me it, I'll just pull some shifts at Dorian's bar or something,” she jested.
She enjoyed the atmosphere at Dorian's club. Granted, she wasn't old enough to drink, but she'd didn't have any interest in doing that. She just liked the fact she got paid and had fun. You certainly met some interesting people in that line of work and she could understand why Dorian had chosen that career path. She wrinkled up her nose for a moment when he dodged her punch. “You're just good at everything, aren't you?” she questioned, a humoured tone breaking through in her voice. Damienne pulled a face when Dorian questioned whether she checked her messages or not. She scowled, thinking for a moment. Then she remembered cancelling off a message when she was trying to beat Edward. “I was busy,” she offered, brushing a hand back through her hair. She pulled her phone out of her pocket, reading the message quickly before returning it back to her pocket. “There, I read it,” she mumbled. She tensed up slightly when she watched Dorian look to Edward.
She was nervous about Dorian meeting Edward, but Dorian's smile and use of pleasantries settled the nerves a little. She smiled at Sabrina as she followed suit. Well, they were being nice enough, so no complaints yet. She bit back her smile slightly when Edward responded. Thank God he was polite. With Lycan in her arms, she pulled a face at Dorian when he said she was easily demoted. “Lycan would never demote me,” she responded in defence. Her eyes flicked between Dorian and Lycan as they spoke, Lycan nodding like a good boy at his dad's request. She raised an eyebrow at Dorian when he asked where the 'old man' was. “Dorian, you know you'd be so happy if you looked like dad when you're that age,” she taunted. She looked up the stairs when she heard her dad's voice, smirking at his question. She refocused on Lycan for a moment, bouncing him a little in her arms as he got impatient to see his gramps. She lifted her head to look over at Edward, smiling broadly at him.
She continued to look at Edward as her dad interacted with the little imp in her arms. Her focus was taken from Edward when Dorian started to speak to him. Her smile faded at she watched Dorian. Was he going to take this opportunity to embarrass her or something? 'Great, the 'baby sister' card...' she thought quickly, distracting herself the best she could by focusing on Lycan again. See, Dorian was so much better at talking to new people. Damienne hadn't even thought to ask how long Edward had lived in Forks. She looked to Edward again, intrigued to hear his answer. She felt a light blush colour her cheeks when he spoke about her. She smiled at him before excusing herself to the kitchen with Lycan. Edward was a big boy. He could either look after himself or follow her in there. She placed Lycan on a counter and began making him his sandwich. It was her fault he liked peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, so she couldn't complain if he asked for one really. She tried her best to make the sandwich and listen in to the conversation in the other room.

Dorian smirked at Edward's reply, glancing to Damienne for a moment. “Have they now?” he questioned, amusement clear in his tone. He beamed at Damienne when she commented on how she knew he would be happy if he looked like dad when he reached that age. “You're not wrong,” he replied, still smiling, with a light laugh escaping his mouth. He looked up the stairs to his dad when he heard him ask who he was calling old. “Just my old man,” he joked cheerfully with a broad grin. He rested his hand on top of his dad's where it was on his shoulder for a moment. He chuckled when Jason inquired as to where his grandson was. He nodded slowly, considering a response when his father asked how the trip was. “Quiet and slow,” he said simply, smirking at his wife. “I had two unconscious passengers and you know how they get when I put my foot down even a little bit,” he jested, getting him a playful thump from his wife. He turned back to Edward as he asked him about school with Damienne and how long he had been in Forks.
“Company's hard to find around here,” he observed, arms still crossed over his chest. He beamed at Damienne when Edward said she was certainly different to most of the girls at the Forks high school. “I should hope so, she's my little sister,” he commented with a wink. He watched Damienne for a moment as she wandered off with Lycan. “Sabrina,” he muttered to his wife, leaning closer to her as he spoke. “Why don't you see if Damienne needs a hand? You know how Lycan can be when he's just woken up,” he suggested, Sabrina nodding and leaving to the kitchen as well. He refocused on Edward when he replied to his questioning about how long he had lived in Forks. He nodded slowly. “Alaska? We have family up there,” he replied, keeping the conversation pleasant, considering Damienne and Sabrina were still in ear shot. “Anchorage to be more precise and just our grandfather,” he went on. Their grandfather tended to keep to himself, hence the whole living in Anchorage thing
He was dad's dad, so all of the shape shifter stuff didn't really bother him or, as he often put it: 'the less I know, the better'. It never really bothered him. He only knew the legends because of James being so eager about them. “Your dad that good?” he began to question before his own dad interjected, replying to the comment about Dr. Cullen being head hunted to go to Forks hospital. He looked to his dad. “Ah, yeah, it's your dad I have to thank,” he began, nodding courteously. “And you, of course,” he added, his expression serious now. He felt slightly reluctant to thank the vampires for their help, but they had helped and helped well, he couldn't deny that. He chuckled slightly as his dad asked them to excuse him as he sat himself down on the couch. “Not sitting in your chair dad?” he questioned, nodding over to the singular arm chair at the other side of the couch. He crossed the room and dropped into the seat as his dad asked him what was new with him. “Apart from thinking living so far away is a bad idea now, nothing new to report,” he offered.
