A slight chuckle escaped Edwards lips as she said if he was in the 'in' crowd she wouldnt be able to get a word in edgeways. Her thoughts were right though, they were part of the out crowd, they were the freaks in Forks. At least thats what they were refered to as in school. 'Perhaps then its a good thing I'm seen as the class freak...' It never really bothered him, it was the same everywhere they went so it was nothing new. He had had a long time to get used to peoples reactions to the Cullen family. However even though he was used to it all he still found some of their thoughts amusing, then again he generally drowned them all out after a while. He also knew that their name was on everyones lips even though they were never spoken to. Carlisle was often a hot topic of conversation, how such a young doctor could be so good at what he did. Of course they all didnt know that Carlisle was over 300 years old... Then again because of his profession people tended to regard him in good stead, unlike his fostered children.
He had to give it to Damienne, she was right when she said it was a little late for his little scenario... They were certainly too closely entwined now to be able to think about if they had never met each other. Edward wondered though what would have happened if he hadnt met her, would he have spent another century trying to find that one person that made him feel the way she did? Perhaps he never would have and once Damienne was gone he was certain he would never find anyone like her. It made his heart feel heavy to think that he would lose her, whether it was through old age or because of who they both were. He sighed gently as she said he was different because he cared. 'I am sure others do too...' Although he knew all too well how the kids of Forks treated people who where not deemed 'normal' to their standards. Though at least Damienne was human, for now at least and that was something Edward would never be again. He returned the smile that formed on her lips 'Your so pretty when you smile Mia...'
Edward of course had an advantage to other people when it came to what Damienne was feeling or thinking. After all he could read her thought, not that she was aware of that of course. He tilted his head slightly when she said that it was a silly reason, raising an eyebrow slightly. He smiled gently when she said she only wanted to see his face. 'Scared you would forget what it looks like?' He teased gently as she rested her head against his neck again. He sighed happily as she gently kissed his neck and he felt her fingers intertwine with his hair... He was so happy right now, everything seemed to be so perfect. 'I know I didnt... But I wanted to, there is no need to thank me.' He whispered gently into her ear. It was true, he didnt have to do any of this, but he knew it would make her feel special. Edward knew Damienne had problems with her self esteem, perhaps this would help her realise she was worth more than she thought she was.
He pulled gently away from her as he reached into his pocket, taking out a small rectangular box. He had gone into town that day when Alice was helping to prepare to pick up a special present. He knew she would try to object, saying that he shouldnt have and that she wasnt worth it. However he knew that wasnt the case, she was worth every penny he spent on her. To him and his family money was no object, after all they never had to pay for food or heating. Carlisle earned a very good wage and they had been saving for a very long time. They also had a lot of contacts who could get them things that were impossible to get, the newest cars not yet for sale, the newest gadgets... It all came from their money and social standing over time. The present he had gotten for her was custom made, a white gold necklace that had several hooks so charms could be attatched to it. On the centre hook hung a crystal shaped heart, in the centre of the heart engraved into the crystal the letters D and E were intertwined. It had taken a lot of money to get, but it had been worth it all. He only hoped she would like it.
Edward presented the box to her and took in a long breath 'I got you a little present, I dont want you to say you dont deserve one though... Because you do.' He smiled gently, hoping she would like it. He had taken advice from Alice on what to get, he wasnt really clued up on buying presents for girls. After all he had never really done it before. 'If you dont like it... I can change it for something else.' What he actually meant was if she didnt like it he would buy her something else, but she didnt need to know that exact detail. He had wanted something special for her, something that would remind her of him when he wasnt there... If she even wanted to remember him when he wasnt there. It was a painful thought but it wasnt one he really wanted to think about right now... 'Its so you will always have my heart with you... no matter where we both are.' He wondered how long they had left to enjoy each others company before it all became a distant memory...

Damienne playfully poked her tongue out in Edward's direction as he chuckled slightly and then said that it was perhaps a good thing that he was seen as the class freak. “I'd rather be the class freak than the new kid still,” she commented. In a place like Forks, 'the new kid' would be a big thing because the place wasn't all that big and it wasn't exactly every day people found themselves settling in the rainy little secluded corner of Washington. She observed Edward as they sat in quiet for a moment. Most of the time, around other people at least, she would have felt all kinds of uncomfortable with sitting in silence. She was a quiet person, but, sometimes, even her own silence bothered her. She tilted her head slightly as Edward replied to her comment about him being different because he cared. “Sure they do...” she began, sounding bright in her tone. “Alice cares, Carlisle and Esme care...” she went on. That wasn't what Edward meant and she knew that, but outside of her father's care, no one else seemed to notice as much as the Cullens, not in Forks at least.
She couldn't be certain about the others. Jasper was a strange one, but he certainly seemed already and Emmett just seemed to be on Rosalie's beck and call and it was obvious that the girl didn't like her. Of course, there was Dorian and his little family and Bernie cared, but they were family, that was the sort of point of family...at least in her mind it was. Outside of that, she didn't really know anyone well enough to feel like they cared like the Cullens seemed to and definitely not like Edward did. She lifted her head properly, feeling a great deal happier now there was a smile on Edward's face. She pulled a slight face, feeling a hot blush quickly colour her cheeks when he said she was pretty when she smiled. She never regarded herself as 'pretty' at all. She was just sort of...there. Having Edward call her that just made her wicked embarrassed and she knew he meant every word. Maybe that was what made it more embarrassing, that he truly meant it and she'd never felt anyone had meant what they said as much as she believed in Edward's words.
She shook her head ever so slightly, regaining her composure. “I'm pretty, but only when I smile?” she questioned in mock shock. “Well, if I'm pretty when I smile, you're absolutely stunningly handsome then,” she said, playfully poking her tongue out at him once again. She felt the blush return when Edward teased her about her just wanting to see his fact, asking if she was scared that she'd forget what it looked like. 'There's just some things a person can't forget...' she thought to herself, Edward's face was one of those things. “I told you it was silly...” she mumbled, lowering her head for a moment while she allowed the new blush to fade from her cheeks. She felt a shiver run down her spine as Edward whispered in her ear. “There's every need to thank you,” she said as she lifted her head away from Edward's neck. “You did all this for me...” she began, looking around quickly before looking back up at Edward. “...and I did nothing for you,” she went on in defence of her thanking him.
She chewed on her lip as Edward gently pulled away, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a little box. She scowled slightly. What was this now? The scowl faded and she released her lip from between her teeth as Edward presented her the box and spoke. She began to open her mouth in protest, but stopped herself as he said he didn't want to hear her say that she didn't deserve it. She didn't feel like she deserved any of this and she certainly couldn't have expected it. There'd been no hint as to them arranging to do something today. It had sort of been sprung upon her when she had got home. So he'd arranged all this AND he'd bought her something? Gosh, did she feel extra-specially stupid for not bothering with sorting something for him now. Though, how would she have known considering there was no mention of it and he hadn't been in school? She very slowly and very reluctantly reached her hand out to the box, taking it from Edward's slender fingers. She looked between Edward and the box as he said if she didn't like it, he could change it for something else.
She lifted the box very slowly, eyes shifting around and looking into the box. Whatever it was looked shiny...and shiny often meant expensive. “Edward, I...” she began, looking at him for a moment, stopping herself when she remembered his words about her not saying she she didn't deserve it. He didn't want to have her say that, so she couldn't say it. She chewed on her lip, refocusing on the box in her hands and lifting the lid off completely, jaw dropping slightly as she saw the necklace that was settled in the box. She put the lid down and picked up the delicate chain to admire the pendant. It was so intricately detailed...not only was it expensive shiny, it was expensive detailed. 'I really don't deserve this...' she told herself as she admired it, looking closely at the intertwined D and E detail. She refocused on Edward as she listened to him speak again, feeling her eyes sting with gentle happy tears. “Edward, it's so beautiful...so perfect,” she half exclaimed and she threw her arms around him, gripping the necklace firmly in her hand.

Edward shrugged a little as Damienne said she would rather be the class freak that the new kid. 'Until recently I was the new boy...' He chuckled a little, after all no many new people moved to Forks and the Cullens had been the most recent having moved there two years ago. Forks was on of those strange little towns, it was more likely for people to move out than to move in. Though using the excuse that Carlisle had been offered the job at the hospital made it look less unusual. Though people did question why he would accept a job in such a small hospital when he was obviously a very talent doctor. He sighed gently as she said that Carlisle, and Alice cared, she was playing with him and she knew this wasnt what he meant. 'Mia...' He shook his head slowly, he knew she wouldnt accept the fact that others aside from him and his family might care. He found it highly unlikely this was the case however, he couldnt understand how such a caring, beautiful person like her couldnt have anyone else except the cullens and her family.
He was amused at her thoughts about his family. It wasnt Damienne's fault Jasper was being strange around her, he had a hard time keeping his cool around her. He was already on edge will all the Alice stuff and having to drink human blood. Having Damienne in the house was like dangling a juicy steak infront of a starving hobo. She wasnt wrong about Emmett, in the way he WAS at Rosalie's beck and call, except Emmett secretly liked Damienne, though he was sure he wouldnt come out with that infron of Rosalie. It was Edwards fault Rosalie didnt like Damienne, she was still bitter from the rejection of not being the one for him... Even though Rosalie had no interest in him, her pride and ego took a bit of a blow. Edward was putting it lightly when he said she was pretty, she was more than that. She was beautiful but he knew she would disagree even more with that description. He only hoped that before they had to part ways he could convince her she was worth every single compliment he gave her and more. He was hoping that his deadline would be later rather than sooner however.
A chuckle left Edwards lips as she asked if she was only pretty when she smiled. However her next comment made him pause a second.'In that case I definately think you have had too much Champagne Miss Renton...' The vampires curse... To be so attractive to their prey, just like so many predators in nature, vampires were no different. It was of course a beauty that attracted humans to them, it didnt really apply to the prey the Cullen's prefered to feed on, though that made it more of a challenge and more fun. Edward smiled and stroked her cheek gently 'I dont think its silly at all... I am only teasing...' He felt so relaxed around Damienne, perhaps it was because he knew she knew more than most. Though it didnt make the fact he wanted to drain her of blood any easier. It was difficult to resist her, especially as she was so close, but he managed it... Just. He shook his head slowly as she said she had done nothing for him 'I dont expect anything from you Mia...You have brought me more than you can ever imagine. Perhaps one day you might fully understand exactly how much joy you have brought to my life..' Before Damienne his life had been empty and pointless, now he had something to live for, at least for now.
He watched as she slowly opened the present, he hoped she would like it. Of course he had been told by Alice she would love it, but he was trying not to rely on Alice's vision right now. Although he was hoping her visions were wrong, he didnt really want this one to be. He opened his mouth to shush her as she started to protest but it turned into a smile as she stopped herself. Though he sighed mentally as she thought what she stopped herself from saying as she looked at the gift. He would have been taken aback from her flinging her arms around his neck if it wasnt for his gift. He chuckled and hugged her closely 'I'm glad you like it Mia...' He took in a deep breath of her scent, enjoying the moment before pulling away from her and taking the chain from her. He gently brushed her hair away from her neck as he put the necklace on her. He smiled as he looked at her 'Even that crystal does you no justice Mia...' He gently caressed her cheek, he wished he could see herself with his eyes, see how beautiful she really was.

Damienne smirked when Edward said that until recently he was the new boy. “Really? I thought you'd been here a little while already...” she wondered. She couldn't be entirely sure. She'd not really questioned how long the Cullens had been in Forks before now because it was one of those inconsequential, yet slightly lucky things. She tilted her head slightly as Edward said his name for her and shook his head. “What?” she questioned, lowering her gaze for a moment. “I'm just saying it like it is...” she mumbled. She adjusted how she was sat, lifting her gaze to Edward's face again, a very soft smile creeping across her face now. She could probably be in the worst mood in the world and Edward's face alone would probably be just enough to put a smile on her face again. She let a soft, happy sigh escape her as she looked up at Edward's face. Her smile broadened slightly as Edward chuckled at her question about her being pretty when she smiled. She tilted her head as he suddenly stopped after she continued to speak about him.
She felt her jaw drop slightly when he said he thought she'd had too much champagne if that was the case. “Can I not just be honest and have you accept that?” she questioned. She sort of thought she knew the question. She probably seemed the same in the reversed situation. She wasn't often capable of voicing honest compliments or saying things that sounded half genuine. She meant was she said, even if it sounded a bit like a kid making a compliment or something. She smiled softly as Edward smiled and stroked her cheek. “You better be,” she attempted to threaten, but it was clearly a set of teasing words. She brushed a hand through her ends of her curls as Edward spoke about how he didn't expect anything from her. She chewed on her lip as he continued, trying to appreciate his words. He seemed to hope that one day she'd fully understand how much she brought to his life. 'I wish you'd understand the same in the reverse situations too,' she thought, simply smiling at his words.
What was she supposed to say anyway? He had a great way with words and always seemed to make her lose her capacity for speech...especially when he presented her with presents as pretty as the one he had just allowed her to open. It made her feel even giddier than before and she couldn't even explain why. Arms wrapped around him, chain clasped in her fingers, she just didn't want to let go, squeezing him gently when he said he was glad she liked it. “As if you could doubt that I would like it,” she squeed slightly. She willed herself to let him go as he pulled away from her and took the chain out of her hand. She felt a shiver run across her skin as he brushed the hair away from her neck and put the necklace around it. She felt a very light blush grace her skin as she flicked her eyes up from the crystal to Edward's face as he said the crystal did her no justice. She paused for a moment as Edward placed his hand against her cheek.
She cleared her throat briefly before finding her words again. “I think someone needs to mediate the things he says a little better,” she began, a slight smirk curling the corners of her lips. She wasn't sure where she was going with what she was saying, but she had started something now. “Or someone's gonna end up dying of embarrassment or something,” she finished, chuckling lightly. She smiled softly as she searched Edward's gold eyes, the light from the candles around them making them glitter. She let out a soft sigh, one hand playing over the crystal that was settled against her skin, the other hand reaching over to Edward, playing with the collar of his shirt again. “What do we do now?” she questioned gently. She didn't want to leave yet, but she wasn't sure what happened now. She would be perfectly happy to just sit there in the perfect glowing meadow with him for the rest of the night in complete silence if that was what he wanted.

It was true that the Cullen's had been in Forks now for Two years, however Forks was small and it was rare for people to move there. It was a poor town and held little interest, although Port Angeles wasnt that far it was fairly isolated... They had trekkers that visited sometimes but no one really moving into the area. 'Just goes to show how often people move here doesnt it?' He smiled and let off a soft chuckle 'Though I would imagine it would be the same in La Push...' He couldnt see many people settling down there often, he had heard the beaches were decent, but he had never been and he would never know for himself. Edward still couldnt understand why Damienne felt so down about herself all the time. He couldnt understand how she couldnt see how amazing she really was. It saddened him to think that she thought so little of herself. It was an arguement he was sure would keep coming up in their 'relationship' if you could really call it that. Edward was reluctant to see it that way, because relationships required truth and commitment and he wasnt sure Damienne would want to commit to a monster like him once she found out the truth about him. Even if she lived for an eternity he was sure she would never believe him when he called her beautiful. It was a sad truth that Edward would have to live with for the rest of his life, she would eventually move on from him one day, forget about him where as Edward could never forget.
Edward smirked a little as she asked if she wasnt allowed to be honest and if he couldnt accept it. 'I will not accept it for I think your beauty out shines my 'handsomeness' any day' After all her beauty was natural, her views of him were marred by his flawless white skin and his unnatural beauty. Her beauty was something truely amazing, because it wasnt created for her, she was born that way, unlike him. There was something so... Amazingly enchanting about Damienne's presence. He cherished every moment of it, scared that any moment it might come to an end. Who knew when she would find out about him? He would ask Alice, but she had other things on her plate as it stood. Also this wasnt anyone else's problem but his own, he would deal with this his own way... If he could. He didnt want to burden his family with his troubles, Edward prefered to keep things to himself, his thoughts were his own and he didnt share them freely. He treasured his privacy and it was part of what made him so stubborn.
He shrugged slightly as she stated that he couldnt doubt she would like it 'I have never bought a girl a present before... I think that entitles me to doubt it.' It wasnt the whole truth, he had bought gifts for Alice and Rosalie but they were family... He had never bought a present for a girl he had feelings for, because there had been no other girls. He had gone beyond giving up hope of finding her yet there she now was. He knew that Carlisle was over the moon he had found her, yet he didnt know how much it was killing Edward inside. There were a thousand things that could go wrong and Edward dreaded every single one of them. He had seen Alice's vision of her as a vampire, like them, that was the thing he feared the most. He didnt want that to happen, he didnt want her becoming a monster like him. He watched her expression as he put the necklace on, he didnt need to read her mind to see that she liked it.
'Hmm' He smirked as she mentioned about dying of embarrasment 'I'm sorry Mia... I am told I have a certain way with words.' He chuckled slightly as he gazed back into her eyes. Buying presents and spoiling her was more fun that he had imagined, he would have to do it more often. Though he knew she was going to protest at such treatment, it was too good an oppertunity to miss. He sighed softly as she asked what to do now 'That all depends on what you want to do Miss Mia' He chuckled softly lying back and gazing back up at the stars. He was suprised she wasnt freezing in the cold February weather, it didnt effect him of course. 'If your getting too cold you will let me know right?' He asked, though he would be able to tell from her thoughts anyway. He didnt want her to suffer even if she was just putting on a brave face for him.

Damienne laughed lightly, nodding when Edward comment about how it showed how rare that it was that someone new moved to Forks. He was even right in his imaginings about La Push, though, she had observed that the people in La Push were a lot crueller than the people in Forks when...no, IF a new person moved to town. She had to laugh at the idea of how much she felt like she wasn't going to fit in with the other people of Forks, she'd much rather be the new kid in Forks as opposed to the new kid in La Push. That idea alone was enough to make her cringe. She'd rather get the odd looks and random whispers of Forks than get the death stares and cruel comments of La Push. “I think it's an even rarer occurrence in La Push,” she commented, trying to think of any time that she had seen any new students in her lifetime. In nearly seventeen years in La Push, she'd not witnessed any new families in the place, let alone any new kids in the school.
She simultaneously laughed, rolled her eyes and shook her head when he continued to argue the point with her. “Fine...” she began, a little louder than she would have hoped she would have, but she wasn't getting anywhere with trying to argue with him. “You win,” she finished, before a smirk started to creep across her face. “It just can't apply when I'm in this dress,” she said, offering the terms of her caving to his protests. “Or my pyjamas,” she suddenly added in a very quick blur of words. She scowled, shaking her head slightly again. “Even anything to do with me going to bed 'cause I can't believe that THAT'S attractive...or eating...” she finished, trailing off because she was just going to keep think of little instances that she could never imagine would be attractive, regardless of what Edward said, laughing lightly and shaking her head at her own stupid comments right now. “I'll shut up about it,” she offered, chewing on the inside of her lip.
She tilted her head, smiling softly when he said he'd never bought a present for a girl before, so that was an automatic allowance for his doubts about whether she would like it or not. “Well, I still think your doubts were unfounded 'cause it's absolutely lovely,” she answered, fingers curled around the pendant again. It felt so delicate against her fingers that she had this awful fear of losing and/or breaking it at some point. She would hate herself if that ever happened. It was too precious. The only thing more precious to her in her life was Edward and she was pretty sure she couldn't purposely lose him or break him. She missed him when he wasn't around, but he always seemed to be there, right when she really couldn't take not seeing him. She was certain she couldn't break him. Despite him maybe not being as big as say Emmett, who she imagined was all brute force, he was still bigger than she was. She couldn't hurt him even if she tried...not that she would try, not that she'd need to try.
She chuckled lightly when he apologised and explained how he had been told that he had a certain way with words. “You certainly do...” she muttered before she even realised what she was saying. She tilted her head, looking around when Edward said what they did next all depended on what she wanted to do. She honestly didn't want to leave this pretty little piece of heaven...ever. She turned back to Edward, seeing him lying back and looking up at the sky. Tearing her eyes from his face and following his gaze, she looked up as well. The top of the trees seemed to glow a little from the candlelight in the meadow, framing the now night sky perfectly. She looked to Edward again as he spoke once more, asking her to let him know if she was cold. Oddly, she hadn't even thought about it. The blanket he had put around her shoulders earlier was now crumpled around where she was sat. She really wasn't cold and she knew that probably seemed odd being that it was February and all.
Then again, Edward wasn't exactly bundled up for February weather either. She shrugged slightly. “I'm fine right now,” she replied gently, smiling sweetly. “Thank you,” she continued, running a hand up and down one arm, realising how her skin was actually getting cold to the touch. Maybe that was what had made Edward request such a thing of her. “But I will certainly let you know,” she finished before dropping her hand into her lap with the other one. She shuffled closer to Edward's side, kneeling beside where he was lying, tracing her fingers up and down his arm idly before her gaze went skyward again. She chewed on the inside of her lip as her eyes followed different patterns in the stars, blinking slowly and infrequently so as not to miss any. A soft smile spread across her face again as she continued to follow the patterns, a happy sigh leaving her lips as she thought about this evening and how wonderful it seemed to her. She really didn't want to leave.

La Push was a small community filled with tradition and superstition, it was no wonder that outsiders were made to feel as such. However most kids in Forks were welcomed readily, except the Cullen's it would seem. Of course it would not be helping Damienne's case at all that she was hanging around with Edward at school. That would certainly mark her as a freak for talking to him, She didnt sense the danger about him like the others did. 'I can imagine... A lot of people there seem very set in their ways.' The Cullen's werent allowed to go near La Push, part of the treaty that kept them revealing what the Cullen's really were. The hostility was there between the two rival sides, even though the Cullen's had never given them reason to mistrust them. The La Push people refused to visit the hospital now that Carlisle was there, it was petty and over the top but the Cullen's ignored it as best they could. The Cullen's were used to their suspision, though it was worse this time, since none of them had been alive the first time they were there.
Edward sighed shaking his head as he raised a finger to her lips. 'Shhh...' He chuckled slightly 'I will chose when it applies or not... and for now it applies all the time. Including whilst you in that dress.' It was true that Edward was very stubborn and he would have his own way some way or another. Damienne was fiarly stubborn too though and it was proving a bit of a challenge to get her to come round to his way of thinking. Then again Edward had been stubborn for the past century so it wasnt as if Damienne was going to convert him just like that. He frowned slightly at her thoughts of being scared, scared of breaking the pendant, scared of losing him... He didnt want her to be scared of losing him, it would happen eventually and Edward would only hate himself more because of it. He needed to cherish what they had right here and now before it was cruelly ripped from them. Something that he dreaded with every passing day.
He was truely glad that Damienne liked the present. Of course Alice had said she would but Edward was trying not to rely on her visions. If Edward believed that her visions were correct then it would mean that not only was Damienne going to become a vampire, but Alice was going to die. Edward wouldnt believe either, he care about both of them and he wasnt going to let either thing happen if he could help it. 'I'm glad then' He smiled gently. He wanted there to be something that reminded her of him. Then she would know she was never truely alone. Edward couldnt bare the thought of her feeling alone or feeling sad, however he couldnt help but feel it would end up being a harrowing reminder of a broken dream. For now however it seemed the pefect thing to remind Damienne that she wasnt alone in Forks, no matter how lonely she got. He didnt want her to feel alone, no one should feel alone. He understood now the guilt Carlisle felt for letting Edward be so lonely for so long... He had thank Carlisle for trying his hardest to help him.
It was starting to get late, but the evening was nice for a February night. At least Alice had been right about one thing. The sky was clear and the stars and moon shone brightly. It was a perfect evening and even Edward didn't want it to end. However all good things came to an end... He tried not to dwell on it too much, he wanted to live in the here and now. The here and now being Damienne... The blissful happiness of having someone to love and have them love back. He wondered whether it really all was too good to last, he would find out in time. Time was something he had plenty of, but all the same Edward didn't want to waste a single minute. He pulled Damienne close to him, nuzzling her cheek gently as they gazed up into the stars. 'I feel like I could stay here forever...' He commented, hoping Damienne felt the same way too.

Damienne pulled a slight face as she laughed briefly when Edward made an observation about the people of La Push appearing to be very set in their ways. “You're certainly not wrong about that,” she replied, sounding albeit a little bitter about that fact. Truth was if you weren't a Ateara, Black or Uley or any of that little band of furries from the reservation, then you were as good as say a cat trying to masquerade as a dog or something. They didn't care for outsiders, even those few that grew up on and around the reservation. If you weren't with that little in crowd, then you were more out than anything else. Lately, they always seemed to have a thing against Forks too, so she was more than likely never going to fit well in La Push again. Not that she would want to. She was happier away from the place. Yeah, she missed the beach and it's cliffs, it was so beautiful...but, hell, there were other beaches, no doubt much prettier ones as well.
She wrinkled up her nose slightly as he raised his finger and pressed it against her lips. He wasn't even going to let her win one tiny little disagreement. She rolled her eyes and shook her head slightly, oddly tempted to open her mouth and bite his finger for putting it so close to her mouth, but she just about managed to resist that random urge. She pulled a face, looking down at herself at the mention of the dress. She smiled softly at Edward, her slender fingers still wrapped around the crystal pendant that was hanging from the delicate chain that was now permanently settled round her neck. She didn't have any intention of taking the thing off...except maybe to shower. The metal might get damaged because of the combination of water and soap. Hell, she didn't know, but perhaps the shower was the only place she wouldn't wear it, just to be safe. She couldn't believe she was thinking this much about the ways to make sure the necklace was safe. Then again, it was a present from Edward, so maybe she could believe a little.
She shifted slightly, a natural motion as Edward pulled her closer to him. Her smile broadened slightly for a moment as he nuzzled her cheek, her eyes not shifting from the starry sky for even a second. Her smile broadened in the same fashion as before when Edward spoke about how he felt like he could stay there forever. “I was just thinking the same thing,” she said, her voice sounding a little far away, even to herself, like it wasn't even her speaking. She let out a soft, slightly sad sounding sigh, her smile dissolving away completely before she finally tore her gaze from the sky and turned to Edward. “But we can't, right?” she questioned with a saddened tone in her gentle voice, somewhat trying to appeal to Edward's better judgement, knowing that he'd insist that they went home eventually. She observed Edward's face, blinking slowly as she tried holding his gaze for a moment before her eyes simply wandered over the other features of his face.
