Damienne had gotten up relatively early in order to shower and get ready for school. She felt like she was in a relatively good mood that morning, having spent the day before lounging about with her dad and laughing about the US History work she'd had to read up on. She was thankful he knew a thing or two to help her with that sort of stuff. She pulled her hair up into a lazy up do, not being bothered to blow dry it. She just wanted to get out of the house and to school and she couldn't even explain why. Grabbing her things, she shuffled out of her room, looking in on her sleeping father as she went by. He would be back to his usual self soon, she had to keep reminding herself of that. She wouldn't have to worry so damn much about leaving him home alone once he was completely better again. She would still worry, but definitely not as much. She quietly made her way down the stairs, grabbing her keys and letting herself out, locking up as she went to her car that was waiting on the drive.
She threw her bag onto the passenger seat as she dropped herself behind the wheel. The music kicked in from her stereo as she started the car, pulling on her seat belt and backing off of the drive. The drive to school seemed to fly by more than usual and the car park was relatively quiet as she pulled into her usual space, noting how Edward's Volvo wasn't here. She scowled as she grabbed her bag and got out of the car. She had parked next to Emmett's Jeep and, walking around the back of it, she saw Rosalie's BMW was in the space on the other side, but as she walked passed the back of that she could see that the space where Edward's Volvo usually was was definitely left empty. She looked around, wondering if he could have parked somewhere else. No. He wasn't there at all and he wasn't the type to bundle into the Jeep with the others or even grace Rosalie with his presence in her prized car. She chewed on her lip as she moved into the school, going to her locker and trading books around for her first class: Biology.
She slowly made her way to class, self consciously checking her phone as she walked. Why were the others here and Edward wasn't? Was she missing something? She passed the odd few people in the corridors, everyone seemed to be happy and giggling amongst themselves, not paying her much attention now that Edward wasn't by her side. She kept her head low, trying to listen to why everyone was so cosy today, but it wasn't really working. She slipped her phone into her pocket as she entered the Biology classroom, looking straight across to the desk she shared with Edward. Empty. He definitely wasn't going to be here today then. Well, at least that class. Sitting in her seat, she watched the door, even though she figured he wouldn't turn up late, he just wouldn't turn up at all. She glanced around the room at the whispering couples, before staring at her desk. She lift her head as the teacher entered, trying to get the class to settle. 'I know it's Valentine's Day, but can you please keep all that to yourselves? We have a lesson to learn,' he said in a slightly strained voice.
That's what she had forgotten. Stupid Valentine's Day. She sighed, shaking her head slightly as she heard several people giggle at the mention of it, rolling her eyes irritably as she started scribbling in her notebook. Was that why Edward wasn't there: trying to avoid the hordes of mystery Valentine's or something? Maybe he's just try and miss the first class if that was the case...As it turned out, he wasn't in any of her classes. She would head to each class, checking her phone, hiding it as she entered the classroom, only to find her desk empty. By lunch time, she had given up. Even the others had gone now. She could only tell that because they weren't sat at their usual table and a glance into the car park showed that the cars had gone, hers sitting alone at the edge of the lot. The last three classes of the day seemed to drag even longer. She'd given up on checking her phone and she'd given up on the idea of Edward or any of the other Cullens or Hales making an appearance. She was on her own again.
Finally, the last bell rang, causing everyone to get up in a hurry. She was in no rush. She'd not heard a thing from anyone all day and she had no plans for the evening except doing today's reading. She packed up her bag, taking one slow trip to her locker before heading out to her car. She had taken so long that the place was nearly empty. The cars that remained probably belonged to the staff or something. Her relatively good mood from the morning had been completely overturned as fourth period had started and there was still no Edward. She got into her car, throwing her bag onto the seat as she had done that morning. She spent a felt moments longer slumped in the seat before putting on her seat belt and lazily pulling out and leaving the school car park. The journey home definitely dragged, even as her music rang in her ears. She sighed as she pulled up the driveway of her house, grabbing her bag, getting out of the car and locking it up. Bag hanging on one shoulder, she let herself into the house and hung up her keys.
That was when she noticed something was amiss: her dad's keys were gone. He was in no fit state to drive. She dropped her bag, running up the stairs, calling “dad?” as she went. She rushed into his room, to find that he wasn't there. She ran back down the stairs and let herself into the garage. His truck was still there. She scowled as she wandered back into the house. She wandered back into the house, pulling her phone out of her pocket, flicking through the phone book to find 'dad'. That was when she saw the note on the table. She held her hand over the call button as she picked it up, her name written clearly across it. She flicked it open with the one hand, eyes scanning over what was written. It was definitely her dad's handwriting. That was a start. 'Gone to the Cullens'. Carlisle came for me. I'm fine. Just worry about yourself tonight. Have a good evening. Love dad,' he had written. She scowled as she read it over. What the hell...? she thought before jumping out of her skin as her phone rang in her hand. 'Alice?' she thought, reading the display.

Edward had told Alice that he needed her help for a Valentines suprise for Damienne. Alice of course couldnt refuse, the thought of Edward going on a Valentines date threw her into fits of giggles. He had told her the plan, that he wanted to take her to his meadow in the forest, the weather had been rather forgiving and Alice had seen that it wouldnt rain on that day. However Edward had no idea how to get Damienne there... After all it was in the middle of the forest and although it took only a few moments at vampire speed at a human pace it could take at least an hour at best. Alice had told Edward to leave that to her, she had an idea and it meant that whilst she was sorting that out Edward could get the meadow ready for their evening together. It had taken a lot of pre planning on Alice's part. She had organised that Carlisle took Jason out and had set about her plan to get Damienne from the house to the meadow without noticing how she got there.
She had been reading a book to Fae that had been giving her some inspiration... Alice in Wonderland. Fae was finding it amusing as she really seemed to believed the story was written with her in mind. Alice liked that idea, though some of the things in the book were rather strange they certainly given her some good ideas. She had looked up about sleeping tonics and had realised that there was a real simple way of getting Damienne to the meadow without knowing about it... She had mixed up a tonic testing it on un expecting kids at school, after all she didnt want to kill Damienne... She had placed it in a little bottle and written the words 'Drink Me' on a little label round the neck of the small bottle. It had made her giggle... She had been to the house and put it in the middle of her desk before putting a card written by Edward next to it.
Edward had written the card but Alice had picked what to put... It was short but simple, 'Is Damienne ready to join me in Wonderland?' Alice still refused to tell Edward what she was planning. Once it had been placed she snuck out and waited. She knew what time Damienne would be back from school and when she heard her car pull into the drive she grinned, the games were about to begin... She watched as she entered, looking around for her dad, who by now was at their place... Not that Carlisle knew what his children were up to. She listened to her for a bit longer before sending a text to her phone 'Just to let you know your dad is here safe, incase your worried... He said that Edward gave him something... its on your desk.'
She bit her lip hoping it would work, the tests at school had worked pretty well, they had become drowsy and fallen asleep fairly quickly and she had found smelling salts worked to help wake them up again. It would give her enough time to pick her up and whisk her away to the meadow where Edward was waiting for her... She had no doubt that Damienne had missed Edward today, but Eddie being Eddie, he wanted everything to be perfect. Sometimes Alice wondered exactly what Edward would do if she wasnt there sometimes... She listened as Damienne headed upstairs, she moved closer to the house keeping her attention on her, she needed to make sure Damienne had drunk the cocktail before she made her move...

With the day at school being how it had been, she was seriously not in the mood for little notes and oddly well timed text messages from Alice. She read the text over and over, reading the note in her other hand. She scowled. This hadn't really cleared up any of the confusion she now felt. She shoved the note from her dad into her pocket, before moving back out into the hallway, she picked up her back and stomped up the stairs as she wrote and sent Alice a text back. 'what the hell, Alice.? I mean seriously...' the text sent. That was when she had the idea to text her dad. 'dad, why didn't you tell me before that you were going out? Fx' she wrote, sending it. She reached her room, dropping her bag on the floor, phone still in her hand. She unzipped her jacket as she crossed over to her desk, noting the strange little bottle with the label directing her to drink it. She narrowed her eyes as she picked up the card, noticing Edward's familiar handwriting, reading it while the other hand flipped through her phone book to find Edward.
“Wonderland...” she whispered to herself, sounding thoroughly, shaking her head before sending Edward a text message this time. 'EDWARD ANTHONY CULLEN.! what the hell is this.? what's going on.?' was what this text said. Even as she sent it, something told her she had to trust everything that was going on and just do as she was told. She took the note from her dad out of her pocket, holding it in the same hand as she card. She placed her phone on her desk before picking up the dubious little bottle. She narrowed her eyes as she looked between the three things in her hands. She was being set up. She had to be. Why? She put the notes back on her desk before crossing her room to her stereo. She clicked it on, keeping the volume low as she wandered round the room, turning the bottle over in her fingers. It couldn't be that bad, could it? She chewed on her lip, as she paced back over to her desk now, glancing at Edward's note again. She continued to scowl as she looked at the bottle, turning it over and over again in her fingers.
Pulling the top off of the bottle, she sniffed at it cautiously. She wrinkled up her nose slightly. It certainly didn't look or smell unpleasant. 'Is Damienne ready to join me in Wonderland?' his note read. “Wonderland...” she whispered again to herself, sounding a little more curious this time. She looked at the bottle in her hand again, raising an eyebrow. What did she have to lose? No one was here. Even if it didn't taste as nice as it looked or smelt, no one was here to see the stupid face she would pull. She slowly shook her head as she lifted the bottle to her mouth, drinking it down in one. She wrinkled up her nose again, clamping her eyes shut for a moment as she let out a soft hiccough. It didn't taste bad, so what was the big freaking set up. She opened her eyes again to put the bottle back on her desk. 'So much for that...' she thought. She didn't feel any different. She reached up and pulled the pins from her hair, throwing them onto her desk before turning to her bed, crawling onto it. Her eyes were closed before her head even hit the pillow...

Alice looked down to her phone as it buzzed, a smirk spread across her face... She really had no idea the lengths Edward was going through for her. She'd know soon though, she had probably come to the conclusion he had bailed on her, not wanting to be sucked into the Valentines thing... But Edward was a big romantic at heart and at least now he could put some of it into practice. She pocketed her mobile and heard her moving up to her room, her fingers still tapping furiously on her mobile... She snuck a little closer as she heard her put on the stereo, come on Damienne! Trust Edward... Well his handwritting anyway, she giggled slightly. This was all rather fun, she should scheme more often... As she heard the bottle open she snuck into the house through Jasons window, listening as she headed to her bed and laid down... It was all too perfect.
Once she heard her breathing slow she moved quickly into the room, looking at her she sighed and wrinkled her nose, she hadnt even gotten changed... She chewed on her lip a little as she looked too her cupboard... Surely there was something nice in there... She quickly searched through her clothes for the fanciest thing she could find, something she might actually wear on a date 'Sorry Damienne... You'll thank me in the future...' She whispered, knowing that she couldnt hear her, but feeling better as she girtted her teeth and undressed, then dressed her into something more date worthy. Her school clothes she folded neatly onto the bed for when they returned before scooping the newly dressed Damienne in her arms, wrapping her in a blanket and swiftly making her way to the meadow to meet Edward.
It didnt take long, Alice was fast and strong, though not as fast as Edward, the warmly wrapped Damienne held firmly in her arms as she sped through the trees. She could see the flickering flames from the fire Edward had lit to keep Damienne warm in the distance and a smile spread across her lips. She burst through the trees to see Edward standing there looking all smart in his little suit... 'Not late for the party am I?' She giggled lightly as she laid Damienne gently on the blanket laid out by Edward for the pair. 'Wow Eddie Bear... You really have pulled out all the stops on this one. Its almost a shame I have to leave!' She turned round to Edward noting the look on her face. 'Whaaaat?' Her eyes looked from Edward to Damienne then back and she sighed 'Shes just asleep... Dont worry I tested it on other people first, its perfectly safe!' She protested, defending herself.
She skipped over to Edward and removed a small vial from one pocket and a little box from the other. 'The smell of the liquid will wake her up, the little box is for when your ready to take her home... k?' She looked back to Damienne lying there wrapped up on the blanket before looking back to Edward 'You two have fun k? Just give me a text when your on your way back and I'll clear up all this.' She waved her hand around the meadow before beaming and skipping off back into the woods until she was needed again... Scheming really was rather fun, they really needed to do it more often. She hoped that Damienne would forgive them for being so secretive... Though she knew Damienne would love every second, they were so madly in love and it mad Alice sigh...

It had been hard for Edward to skip school that day, but he needed the time to get everything together. He had asked Alice to help him, a task she was all to happy to do since Damienne was involved. They had already arranged to get Jason out of the house, Carlisle was all too happy to help as well. They were probably going to have a good long chat about the pair of them whilst Carlisle checked everything was okay medically with Jason. The major wall that Edward had come up with was how to get Damienne to where he wanted her without her knowing there was something odd about them. The meadow was too far to make her walk and she would notice if they carried her blindfolded. However Alice had reassured him she would find a way, though he was slightly apprehensive about it all. It was crazy, only one day apart and Edward was pining for her already, he sighed gently as he finished setting up the Meadow for her arrival. He flicked open his phone as it buzzed and sighed... Damienne was getting annoyed...
He hadnt done all that much, he had hung candles in the trees and hidden them in the grass, built a fire in the centre to keep her warm, knowing it could get very cold in Forks and he didnt want her to freeze. He had laid out blankets to lie on incase the ground got damp and to wrap her in if she got cold. Also he had done some shopping, getting some expensive champagne and nibbles for her to enjoy during the evening. The meadow was looking satisfactory, not totally magical like he wanted... he was a vampire after all, not a magician. He looked to the trees as he heard Alice's thoughts come into range, though he couldnt hear Damienne's... He raised his eyebrow watching as he heard her getting closer, and sighed as Alice burst through the trees in a way that only Alice could. He looked at Damienne in her arms, out cold 'Alice... What the HELL did you do to her???' He watched as Alice laid her on the blanket near the fire. He growled softly 'You DRUGGED her?' He let out a hiss at the thought.
He grabbed the bottle and box from her and scowled a little as she darted off. He turned to Damienne and pocketed the items as he knelt down beside her, gently unwrapping her from the blanket. He chuckled gently, so Alice had dressed her up for the occasion. He had no idea how Damienne was going to react to all this... He reached into his pocket again and took out the bottle, un corking it and wafting it under her nose until she started to stir before corking it again and putting it back in his pocket 'Mia?' He ran a finger down her face gently 'Wakey wakey Mia my little lamb...' He chuckled gently helping her sit up... He was going to have serious words with Alice when he got back home... 'You okay? You seem a little sleepy...' He smiled, though deep inside he was terrified with how she would react.

Damienne felt she would be lying to herself if she actually said she didn't feel any different after drinking the mystery liquid. She had started to feel a lot calmer, her former sharpness and need to find out what was going on in her house was slipping away. It was definitely all gone by the time her head hit her pillow. She didn't have much choice in that. In her head, Edward hadn't bailed on her. Edward was there. Where 'there' was, she wasn't entirely sure. It wasn't even like she cared about the whole Valentine's thing. She was used to being alone and she'd never received even one real anonymous Valentine's in her life. She just wanted him to be 'there' and, in her head, he was. Edward was always 'there' in her head. Wherever he was, she was. The nightmare images from her brother had started to fade away and Edward was more at the forefront of her mind, which wasn't too strange considering how much time they spent together. She shuffled about a little, snuggling into her pillow as she slept peacefully.
This all had to be too good to be true, didn't it? There wasn't even the slightest hint of something going wrong in her head. Somewhere, in the back of her mind, she was vaguely aware of there being someone else, but that didn't wake her, the images in her head keeping her anchored into her sleep. She was even vaguely aware of a sensation of weightlessness almost, but, still, she didn't wake. She shuffled around a little as the sensation of actual weight returned, still sleeping. It didn't feel like her bed under her back, but another little shuffle made her comfortable and kept her asleep. The smell of burning candles filled her senses, just as she became aware of someone else around her. She had to wake up soon, right? Soon after, there was only one person still lingering around her as she continued to sleep. She shivered slightly as a cold sensation touched her arms. She hadn't taken her jacket off before she'd fallen asleep...she shouldn't be cold...Her fingers curled around whatever was lying under her hands.
She grimaced, shaking her head as an incredibly strong smell started to fill her nose now. She wrinkled up her nose as she smell seemed to go away, but not completely, the after effects still hanging in her senses. She heard her name...Edward's name for her. “Ed...ward,” she said groggily as she tried to blink her eyes open. She felt his hand run down her cheek and the smell of candles returned, the smell of Edward's cologne flowing over in a pleasant wave as well. She didn't try to speak again, simply continuing to blink as a very smart looking Edward helped her sit up. “What...?” she began to ask before she noticed her complete change of attire. That was enough to snap her awake. “What the...hell...?” she questioned brokenly as she tugged at the bottom hem of the dress. She hadn't seen this dress in a while. She had loved it for one day: her sixteenth birthday. After that, it had been packed away, hidden at the back of her wardrobe. It made her feel like a doll. The recollection of not even getting changed only magnified that feeling.
“Edward...” she began, bringing her attention him finally, but that was when she noticed only part of what surrounded them. They were outside, in a quaint little clearing. She noticed the odd candle. That explained why she smelt them. They were all around them, she discovered, as she slowly turned and took in their surroundings. As she came to the point at which she was looking directly away from Edward, she mumbled “wonderland...” for the third time that evening. She slowly turned back to Edward as he asked if she was okay. She noticed the smile on his face. He had planned all this...and there she'd been thinking he'd totally bailed on her for no good reason. A smile crept across her lips and she let out a soft sigh before replying simply with “I'm better now.” The looked around again. 'I must be dreaming...' she thought briefly to herself. She had thought the first night Edward stayed over at her house. That had felt like a dream, but had been totally real. This had to be real. She wanted it to be real.

The smell of the liquid was strong and it made Edward scrunch his face a little, though it seemed to do the trick as she started to stir, calling his name 'Shhh Mia... I'm here...' He watched as she took in her new surroundings, she was obviously very confused, thanks to Alice. He smirked a little at her reaction to what she was wearing, typical that Alice managed to choose something that Damienne most probably had hidden away never to wear again. Damiennes normal wardrobe wasnt really Alice's thing... Ironic how Alice had also managed to dress Damienne just like Alice from Alice in Wonderland. He sighed to himself, sometimes he really wondered why Alice thought things were good ideas when to him they were really not. Then again Alice had very little 'human' reasoning, she had her own version of what was right, wrong, good or bad.
He watched as Damienne looked around the meadow... His meadow. Its where he went to think, a place to get away from his family when it all got too much. It was a part of him that he wanted to share with Damienne, even though she may never learn its true significance. He waited patiently as she took it in, hoping she wasnt going to be too freaked out by it. 'Good... I was worried you might not wake up...' He smirked but it had crossed his mind... Alice and her 'dont worry I'll sort it' attitude. He reached behind him and took the champagne bottle in his hands, popping the cork and pouring a glass for her, he didnt know if she had tried champagne, or even wanted to but he thought it was a nice romantic gesture. He looked to the fire and threw another log onto it, making sure it was warm enough for her 'Your not too cold are you?' He questioned gently, he didnt want her to be cold and its not like he could cuddle up to her to achieve that effect.
He watched her smiling 'How was school?' He asked, knowing she had probably been annoyed at his lack of attendance. He knew that if he had gone to school he would have been to distracted to actually plan any of this, but at the same time he pined for her company. His eyes watched her as his hand reached out to touch her face again, her face had been in his mind all day, he couldnt stop thinking about her and it made him feel strange. He had never felt like this about anyone before, he had never gone to so much trouble to please anyone. He had even gone to the extent of buying her a present... He sighed gently, now she was here he was quite content just to look at her and enjoy her scent. He had gone hunting just before she arrived so his eyes were a bright gold, he wasnt going to take any chances tonight. He was already putting her in danger by having her here alone with him with only Alice knowing where they were... But Edward was fairly sure he could hold it together...

Damienne allowed her eyes to flutter open as she heard Edward's gentle words of comfort. Sitting up and tugging at the bottom hem of the dress, she couldn't help, but feel a little paranoid. She wasn't generally a dress person. Something told her that this had at least a little something to do with Alice. She ran her fingers up into her hair, rubbing the back of her head before running her fingers through it, feeling the curls brush against the palm of her hand as she did. At least she hadn't messed with her hair. Waking up like this and having a feeling that Alice had something to do with it made her feel like she should be at least a little paranoid about what she completely looked like. Edward was too polite to say anything, so she would have to work on her own judgement. She smirked slightly as she remembered how she looked the last time she wore the dress. She wasn't much different. It was only nearly a year ago. She hadn't got any taller or changed anything about herself. Her hair was a little longer now though, her curls getting tighter as she got older.
She closed her eyes, grimacing slightly when Edward said he was worried she might not wake up. So he hadn't been the one to plot that either? She let out a sigh as she opened her eyes again, looking away from Edward. “I'm awake now...” she muttered in a slightly dazed tone. She was still kind of upset with him about bailing on her for the day. The others didn't share any classes with her and then had disappeared at lunch time. No one else in the school really talked to her unless they had to. She had been used to the company and Edward had decided not to turn up. She had to forgive him at least a little though. He had gone to the trouble of bothering to do something with her this evening, albeit she was adding more pieces together that would have involved Alice's direct involvement and strange ways of thinking. She jumped slightly as Edward popped the cork on the champagne bottle, her fingers twining into the ends of her hair. 'Champagne?' she thought as she watched him fill a glass. 'Looks expensive...' she continued to think.
She really was starting to feel bad about this. She hadn't thought about it and she'd never even realised that they would even bother with Valentine's Day. 'He's obviously more complicated that I realised,' she thought as she smiled softly at Edward. “No, I'm fine,” she said softly, taking the glass from him. Holding it in one hand, she ran the finger tips from the other hand up and down the glass. Was Edward going to drink some too? She found herself distracted before she'd even really considered having even a sip by Edward asking her about school. She tilted her head slightly, laughing nervously. “You're asking me about school?” she questioned back, looking over at Edward. She shrugged, pulling a slight face. “It was...lonely,” she replied, thinking a moment before saying the final word in her response. “Without you,” she added. She closed her eyes, chewing on her lip as he touched her face with his hand. She opened her eyes again, letting out a slow, gentle breath as she heard Edward sigh.
He was so quiet now. She hadn't really said much, though she had initially been quite irritated by the situation, like she had been tricked into all of this, but now she was here she just she felt kind of...guilty. She took a sip from the glass as she considered what to say, the bubbles a slight distraction as they tickled her nose. She was rendered practically altogether speechless by his very lovely gesture, but, at the same time, she wanted to apologise over and over in anyway she could think that would be appropriate. “I'm sorry...” she began uncertainly, taking a shaky breath. “I didn't realise we were doing anything for...today,” she apologised, staring at the bubbles popping on the top of the liquid in her glass before taking another sip. She wrinkled her nose for a moment as the bubbles tickled again, considering how to go on with her apology. Either she had just jumped to the conclusion that this was a Valentine's thing and made a fool of herself or she was making a successful apology about not having bothered to arrange anything herself for Edward.
She finally glanced over to Edward, catching his gaze. He always seemed to be watching her when she wasn't looking at him. She still wasn't completely used to that fact: someone actually wanted to look at her for more than five seconds and for different reasons than they simply had to. She smiled softly as she noticed the light from the candles and the fire dancing across the surface his topaz coloured eyes making them look even brighter than they already were. She held his gaze as she managed to whisper “thank you.” She placed the glass down, shuffling onto her knees, sitting on her feet and facing Edward, not bringing her eyes to look at his yet. She rested her hands in her lap for a moment longer, letting out a slow breath. She'd thought the worst of him and now she was left feeling awful for thinking the way she had. There were no words for how thankful she really was. She lifted her eyes to his again, lifting her hand to brush it against his cheek. She started to lean forward, but ended up just leaning her forehead against his. 'Dammit...' she thought angrily to herself.

Trust Alice to pick the one dress Damienne probably didnt feel comfortable in. Damienne wasnt wrong, Alice had everything to do with the dress, he claimed innocence on this particular incident though. Edward was thankful Alice hadnt done Damienne up like a doll, he knew she had thought about it several times, but he had been able to keep her away from doing such things with well placed glares. Edward couldnt help but smirk a little to himself as she thought about what Alice might have done to her appearence. Lucky for her she hadnt done anything. 'You look beautiful Mia...' He ran his fingers through her hair also, enjoying her scent as it wafted to his nose. He was thankful for being fully fed, he found it hard to resist Damienne even when people were around, let alone when they were alone in the middle of the forest together. Thankfully though neither Jason nor Carlisle knew about this little meeting... There would be no teasing after, he hoped.
He nodded gently as she said she was awake now 'Yes, I can see that now.' he chuckled softly seeing she still wasnt totally all there. 'Though perhaps not totally...' He sighed a little as she thought about her day at school, he didnt like spending time away from her. He worried about things, like if Tobias turned up whilst he wasnt there. He didnt want anything to happen to her when he wasnt there to protect her. It had made him irritable all day, despite Alice assuring she was going to be fine without him there. He saw her jump as he popped the cork 'Sorry...' He chuckled a little, he poured himself a glass afterwards, not wanting to raise any suspisions that he might just be trying to get her drunk. 'I did a bit of shopping... I hope its alright, I tried to get the best I could...' Edward had never been able to afford such wines in his mortal life, though he knew it was something that modern humans loved to endulge in.
Edward sighed to himself, if only Damienne knew how complicated he really was... He reached over and wrapped a blanket around Damiennes shoulders anyway, he really didnt want her getting cold as he beconned her closer to the fireplace he had built. 'Well, yes... Since I didnt go today, I just wondered if anything interesting happened.' He chuckled and winked gently, knowing it was highly unlikely anything excited had happened. Though if it had he would have wished he had been there to see it. He sighed gently 'I'm sorry Mia... If its any counsilation... I was lonely without you too...' His golden eyes met hers and he smiled feeling her soft, warm human skin under his fingertips. He had felt lonely without her, it felt so strange, like he would never be happy again if he lost her somehow. He wondered if this was how Carlisle felt when he first met Esme when she was a teenager, knowing that he had to leave her and continue without her. He knew one day he would have to leave Damienne, he would have to move on and leave her behind. He gritted his teeth slightly and pushed the thought away, those thoughts always had to spoil these moments.
Edward couldnt help but laugh at her apology 'Well if you did know I would have not done my job properly no?' It was true, he had kind of planned it so she wouldnt suspect, though he had thought she might suspect something might have been going on. He had never celebrated Valentines, he had never had a girl to celebrate it, but he had also never really seen the point. In the past he had recieved cards, mainly from Jessica, her thoughts had been unbarible during that time she had that crush. Though he had noticed she had been glaring at Damienne with a little more hostility since they started hanging out. He thought the whole idea of cards and teddy bear gifts were a little tacky, he prefered the older, more traditional ways to get to a girls heart, but that was just him all over, old fashioned to the core. He was glad though that she seemed to like the idea of their little date, even if she was still a little disorientated by it all.
A smile spread across his lips as she moved forward only to rest her head on his forehead 'Be brave Mia... I dont bite... Well hard anyway' Well if he did he was going to be in huge trouble, no matter how tempting it really was at that moment. He waited, letting her make the move and chuckled a little 'But thats my little secret' He chuckled gently 'I'll give you this strawberry if you keep it secret...k?' He held up a strawberry and brushed it across her lips without breaking contact with her forehead. He had brought some food with him as not to let her starve and he had heard that Strawberries went very well with Champagne. He gazed into her eyes, allowing himself to get lost in them, he sighed again gently. He really had missed her that day, but they were going to have such a nice evening together, of that he was sure.

Damienne smiled softly, feeling a slight warm blush spread to her cheeks as Edward spoke. She closed her eyes as he ran his fingers through her hair, feeling her heart racing at the contact. It sent a shiver down her spine. “You...don't look too bad yourself,” she said in a slow, quiet tone, slowly opening her eyes and looking at Edward again as she finished her reply. She wasn't as good with words as he was and the fact that she had managed even that lame reply shocked her. She chewed on the inside of her lip as she watched him. She smirked at his reply about her being awake. She didn't feel completely awake either, now that he came to mention it. That could have had something to do with how surreal everything felt. She would come round eventually and she would be fine. She blinked slowly as she looked around yet again. She felt like she could lie down and just go to sleep in a more natural way than she had obviously done before, but that could have been a side effect to whatever had been in that bottle on her desk.
She refocused on Edward, feeling better just for seeing his face after a day of him not being around. It was strange how much she always missed him when he wasn't there. “I'll be fine,” she muttered, half encouragingly and half uncertain, not really sure if she was saying it to Edward or to herself. Glass in hand, she watched Edward's hands as he poured himself a glass. So this wasn't just for her enjoyment. That was good to know. She raised an eyebrow at him slightly when he said he'd done some shopping and tried to get the best that he could. 'Shoulda known it would be expensive...' she thought, sipping the gold liquid carefully. “Well...it's great,” she said, chewing on her lip. “I've never had anything like this before,” she admitted, taking another sip, the bubbles tickling her nose every time she did it. She didn't take as much of an interest in anything alcoholic like some people her age did. She'd drunk some definitely more inexpensive things before now certainly.
She cast her eyes down as Edward wrapped the blanket around her shoulders, shuffling closer to the fire when he beckoned her. She really wasn't that cold, but it was sweet that he was being so concerned about her well being. She scowled slightly as she considered his point about him not being at school and it just being a question of wondering what had happened. She shook her head slowly, expression neutralising. “Not so much interesting. More...stomach wrenching, I guess,” she replied with a smirk. It was kind of sickening seeing everyone being so close and secretive, but that could have been a jealousy thing. She was close to Edward, but they weren't close in that sense. They weren't like the little couples around the school. They were just friends...or so she had continued to have to tell herself before this little surprise...and the fact she was constantly fighting herself about wanting to touch him and look at him and everything. It was complicated. She knew that much.
She tilted her head as he spoke, smiling gently. “Awww, you missed me?” she cooed, even though it sounded to be a combination of sarcastic and kind of corny. She couldn't stop herself. She shook her head slightly as Edward laughed at her apology and replied. “Yeah, but...” she began, considering how she could reply to that. He had wanted it to be a secret. The problem was that him keeping him a secret like that meant that she hadn't realised she was meant to be considering something for him. She didn't realise they were like that, considering how they were with one another and the fact that Edward was so confusing for her. Despite that, she couldn't keep away. “...but I've not done anything for you...” she finally finished in a very low, disappointed voice. She chewed on her lip and wrinkled her nose, her eyes flicking between his gaze and looking at his lips as he spoke. 'That's not what I'm afraid of...' she thought as she closed her eyes and sighed gently. 'I'm afraid of the rejection...' she continued in her head, eyes still closed.
She opened her eyes again, smirking when Edward said that that was his little secret. Her lips parted slightly as she tried to take in a breath as he brushed a strawberry across her lips. Strawberries and champagne? He really had gone all out on all of this, hadn't he? Now she felt really bad about not knowing that this was what they were about. Her eyes dropped to the strawberry and she bit it, chewing on the piece slowly. “I can keep a secret,” she whispered, bringing her hands up to his face again. She could feel her heart thundering in her chest as her hands slipped down to his shoulders, something telling her he would definitely back away if she forced it too much. She used one hand to lower his hand that was holding the rest of the strawberry, wrapping her fingers around his hand as she rested it on the blanket. Her hand from his chest moved to his neck as she inched a little closer to him. She closed her eyes again, then slowly and very carefully pressed her lips against his, heart pacing faster, despite the gentleness of the action.

A soft smile spread across Edwards mouth as she commented that he didnt look too bad himself. ' Well I try my best' He commented simply. He had never seen Damienne so bewildered before, it was amusing to say the least. He was amazed she didnt think it was all a dream. Then again he was sure Damienne was used to odd things happening with the family she had. He wondered whether she knew where the border between normal human life and the strange really lay. He only hoped that what ever Alice had given her had no bad side effects, though she insisted she had tested it out on others you never could tell with Alice. He could see it had confused her to say the least and she still looked rather sleepy, he was sure it would fade though and that they would have an enjoyable evening together. At least he could hope, he had missed her all day and this was his reward for being so good...
He watched her as she took a sip of the champagne, he wanted her to feel as relaxed as possible in his company. He knew it was a rather odd situation, after all he had been playing the good 'friend' at school to try and keep the attention drawn to them at a minimum. Though he knew it sent mixed signals to Damienne it was for her own good, and for his families own good too. Rosalie had made it clear she thought he was being selfish and she wasted no time in telling Carlisle how soft he was being letting Edward interact with a 'human' in this way. Although deep down Edward knew she cared about the safety of the family he also knew there was some jealousy in her words, she still couldnt accept how he had rejected her all those years ago. 'Well I hope then that it is to your liking...' He commented as she said she had never had anything like this before. He knew it was far more expensive than she could afford, but it wasnt like the Cullens were going to run out of money any time soon.
He sighed a little as she looked down, she was being so timid today, though he guessed he could hardly blame her. She certainly was more of a mouse than a lamb, but Damienne was his little lamb and nothing would change that. He knew she wasnt feeling cold yet, but he didnt want her to get cold, and if she stayed unprotected in the cold February air then she was bound to catch a cold. Edward knew how sickly and frail the human body was and he didnt want Damienne getting ill because of something he had done. He chuckled softly as she said the day had been more stomach wrenching than anything else. Edward could imagine, Valentines had always been a miserable time for him. Of course being the only single Cullen he was the only one that didnt celebrate this particular holiday. Though the rest of his family seemed quite happy sharing their little moments together.
He knew that Damienne had wanted so much more from Edward at school, he had felt the same way, only perhaps she hadnt noticed. He had to resisted the urge to hold her hand, to run his fingers through her hair, or to touch her face softly. The electricity that seemed to spark between them forced him to concentrate on anything but Damienne in class and he had been finding it all a lot harder as of late. 'Of course I missed you...' Damienne had become a huge part of his life and he chuckled at her words slightly, sounding like something from a corny high school sitcom. He shook his head and sighed as she said she hadnt done anything for him, he didnt mind, after all he had been sending out mixed signals to her ever since he had stayed the night and since the party. Part of it was for her safety and part for his family. Though it had been playing havoc on his sanity. Tonight however he was happy to relax and reassure her he did feel she was the most special person in his life.
'Thats okay then... Because I wasnt expecting anything, except your company.' He smiled to her, it was the truth, he didnt need anything material from her. A faint frown graced his eyebrows as he heard her thoughts, she was scared of him rejecting her? Why would he do that? Edward could safely say he had never loved anyone as much as he found he loved Damienne. Edward had spent over a hundred years not knowing what love was like and now, there it was, all bundled up into this frail little human before him. Perhaps it was because it all felt too perfect, Edward could agree with that, though obviously there was a lot that Damienne didnt know about him. He was sure if she knew the truth she wouldnt be scared of rejection, she would be scared of him, the monster. He was sure that even the strange knowledge that her family were shapeshifters would even prepare her for finding out the boy she liked was a vampire.
The smile returned to his lips as she started to realise what Edward wanted to achieve by this. He didnt want her thinking that she wasnt important to him, after all Edward was sure his life could never feel whole now with her not in it. 'Good...' He whispered back, letting her make her move whilst listening to her thumping heart. He was concentrating hard on controlling himself, he didnt want to let things get too far. After all although he loved her, to him she smelt like the most appetising meal in the entire world. This really wasnt where he wanted to be if he lost control. He watched her every move carefully and as she closed her eyes he closed his, allowing his ice cold lips to press against hers in a gentle kiss. He smelt and heard as her heart raced, she smelt so good to him, and the taste of her on his lips was better than he had remembered.
He gently started to kiss her back letting his hand rise up to her neck and the other left her hand and wrapped around her waist pulling her gently closer as he parted the kiss and looked into her eyes. Despite having just fed her scent burned the back of his throat and he could feel the venom collecting in his mouth. 'I'm sorry for confusing you Damienne... I just think that for our safety... At school we shouldnt appear more than just friends.' He didnt want her to feel rejected, he wanted her to know how he felt 'However... I since we are not at school I'm sure we can forget about that image for now.' If people at school thought of them as a couple and something happened to her then the Cullens would be in trouble with more that just the Rentons. He didnt want his family suffering over his actions.

Damienne smiled at Edward as he spoke. 'Like he even really has to try,' she thought quickly, still smiling. She hoped she could focus better soon. She had spent the large majority of the day away from Edward and now she was getting spacey and he was right there. She couldn't waste anymore time. She took in a slow, steady breath, blinking furiously as she looked around. She had to be awake. She didn't want to miss a minute. She chewed her lip as she looked at Edward again. Each sip of the champagne was waking her up a little more. She still couldn't get over the fact that Edward always seemed to be quite content with watching her, even when she wasn't doing much of anything at all. She didn't think she was worth looking at all that much. 'He's a little odd sometimes,' she thought, running her fingers over the glass in her hands again, biting back a smirk. ''Odd' is better than 'normal',' she went on to think, still biting back the smirk as she watched her fingers against the glass.
She shrugged slightly when he expressed his hope for her liking the champagne. It's...really great,” she replied with a smile. She pulled a slight face. That had sounded a little off or something. It was very nice and it was something she just wasn't used to. She wasn't used to this sort of situation either. She felt slightly more comfortable because it was Edward. At least she knew him relatively well already. The bigger bonus was that it was Edward at all. She chewed on her lip again, glancing at him. He was more settled into the situation than she was. She had to loosen up a little. It was Edward. He made her nervous, but not uncomfortable. It was a strange balance. She had learnt to be much better around him and now she was being all nervous. She wasn't sure if it was because of the context of it being Valentine's Day or if it was something else entirely. She felt like it had to be something to do with the impromptu Valentine's date. The fact that there was something going on for her on Valentine's was a very different thing than she was used to.
She smiled gently as Edward answered her silly question. Now, he just made it sound like she had asked the stupidest question she could have possibly asked. She wrinkled her nose slightly as she continued to smile at him. It sounded so cheesy, but it was really nice all at the same time. She bit her lip when he said he wasn't expecting anything from her, just her company. She shifted slightly where she was sat, fingers tracing over the glass in her hands again. She kept focused on the glass as she tried to think of what to say. She hadn't been expecting anything either. She thought they would just be in school and maybe study after school, not that he would skip school in order to organise an evening alone together. This is all so...perfect,” she said softly before turning to Edward, still chewing on her lip. You didn't have to do this,” she added in the same gentle tone. Of course she appreciated it, every last little bit of it, but she would have been happy with Edward planning a night in on the couch with a DVD.
Edward's singular whispered word sent a shiver down her spine as she moved closer to him. Finally she'd been brave enough to just kiss him and it felt great. Her fingers slid down his neck and wrapped around the top of his shirt collar. Another shiver ran down her spine as she felt his hand against her neck. She raised her other hand to his collar as well as she shuffled closer, feeling his arm around her, pulling her gently towards him. She let out a slow breath, opening her eyes as he broke the kiss. She unfurled her fingers from around his collar, letting them slip down to his chest as she listened to him speak. 'Our safety?' she thought with a slight scowl. She felt like she sort of understood what he was talking about in terms of school. She knew what people were like when they were just hanging out together. She imagined they would probably get quite unbearable if there looked to be something further to gossip about. She remained silent as he continued to speak, considering every word that he said.
Something about what he said rang through her head a little longer than the rest. 'So we are something more than just friends then...' she thought as she looked at him once again. She laughed nervously, considering his final comment about how they weren't at school, so they didn't have to keep up the appearance. Well, I think school is the last thing I want to imagine right now anyway,” she joked, smirking. She let out a soft sigh as she considered his initial apology. I understand,” she said gently, lifting a hand to his face for a second. There's just one thing I don't think I understand...” she began, feeling her heart racing again as she tried to be brave enough to ask what she needed to ask. She scowled slightly, chewing on her lip as she tried to make herself just ask what she wanted to know. She dropped her eyes to her hands against Edward's chest. Why couldn't she just ask? She rolled her eyes slightly at herself as she refocused on Edward's face. So, we're more than...friends...?” she questioned gently. They hadn't really spoken about it before.

Damienne's thoughts never ceased to amuse Edward. An amused smile broke across his lips, though he was sure in her dazed state she didnt really notice it. Though his eyebrow raised slightly as she thought that he was a little odd. Then again she was right, Edward was far from normal, though it seemed she prefered that. He was glad that she seemed to be becoming more aware of her surroundings, the Champagne certainly seemed to have been a good idea. He watched as she played with the glass in her hands, she was so shy and timid that he couldnt help but smile. He was very content just sitting there and watching her, though he was aware that it might just make her feel a little uncomfortable. He simply couldnt resist though 'I'm glad, I cant say I've had any myself before...' He placed his glass to his lips and 'pretended' to take a sip before placing it down. He repressed a cringe from the unpleasant taste that spread across his lips, though he hoped it didnt show.
From the way Damienne was reacting he was fairly sure that she hadnt had many, if any boys treat her on Valentines. Edward was determined to make sure it was a night that she never forgot. He hoped that so far it was going well, though he could never really tell. Damienne seemed to be her usual timid shy self that she normally was around him. She seemed impressed though, and that put his mind at ease. Edward had never taken a girl out on Valentines and he had turned to Alice for some inspiration... Alice may not know that much about human life but she was a hopeless romantic at heart and he was sure her ideas had helped him greatly with the planning. Though he didnt want to count his chickens before they hatched, he was still unsure whether the night would be a total success. Though Alice had been more than sure everything was going to go perfectly.
He let out a sigh of relief as she said everything seemed to be perfect. At least he had some reassurance now that it all hadnt been a total waste. 'I know I didnt have to, but I wanted to.' He had needed an excuse to get out of the house, Carlisle and Esme had already celebrated whilst everyone was at school, but Rosalie, Emmett, Alice and Jasper were probably doing their own soppy little things right now... Well Perhaps not so much soppy, but more rampaging passion with Rosalie. Edward shuddered slightly at the thought, Emmett and Rosalie had no problems in getting all physical even when they werent alone in the house. Esme had to redecorate their room often, not that she really complained at all. Edward was happy and content just being in Damiennes company, he guessed that now he understood the relationship between Alice and Jasper more. They were simply happy with each others company, though Edward did see the attraction to the more physical side too.
Edward only wished he could offer more of an explination as he held her in his arms. He traced her jawline softly with his lips to her ear before gently nuzzling her neck, letting her scent burn his throat. He was starting to find a strange sort of comfort in it, even if it was tempting him to do things he dreaded. He let his hand drop to hers resting on his chest, letting his cold fingers wrap around hers. He didnt want her to be upset about it, he also didnt want her thinking to much into it. Yet it was something that simply had to be said. 'If only you knew how hard the past few weeks have been for me.' He sighed gently knowing they had been hard on her I know they have been hard on you too.' He didnt want to confuse the poor girl, though the tension between them in school had been really hard for him to ignore, so he was sure it was the same for her.
He nodded simply as she said she didnt want to think about school right now anyway 'I agree with you there...' He chuckled slightly, school was boring for him, more so than for her. She seemed to be his only salvation from boredom there at the moment, though that in itself made life at school hard for him at the moment. 'Hmm?' He softly questioned as she said there was one thing that she didnt understand. A smile played across his lips as she finally got the question out, his timid little lamb had finally gotten the courage to ask the question on her mind. He leaned in gently and kissed her lips briefly before looking into her eyes again 'Only if you want us to be.' He didnt want to force her into anything, but he was sure that she felt the same way as him. 'I like to think that I would be a decent enough person to not just kiss and tell... so to speak.'
He lifted his hand back to her face and traced her jawline to her lips and smiled. This would have certainly have been a lot of effort to go through if they had only simply been friends. Then again it wasnt like Edward had a lot of those hanging around, Damienne was a first in a lot of ways really. His eyes searched hers for her reaction, he only hoped he hadnt been reading her wrong. Though he was certain he wasnt totally sure for some strange reason. He was scared of messing everything up, that she would hate him for it. He didnt think he could live with her hating him, he also didnt think that now he could ever live without her there with him. He sighed softly, he was falling so far and yet there was nothing to pull him back out.

Damienne brushed a hand back through her hair, tangling her fingers in some of the longer curls as she watched Edward. She nodded, slightly intrigued as he spoke. He'd never had any of this stuff? Considering the lifestyle his family lead, that left her a little surprised. She wasn't going to say that though, of course. It sounded kind of presumptuous. He didn't seem to presume things about her, she shouldn't do it about him. “Well, there's a first time for everything, right?” she questioned with a smile, taking another sip. She certainly seemed to point that out to herself about the situation and...well...Edward all of the time. He wasn't like anyone else she had ever known and she had never felt such an attachment to anyone before, among a whole bunch of other things. Her eyes followed the glass in Edward's hand as he took a drink, refocusing on her own glass as he started to lower his. Now she was watching him do the simplest things. She normally wouldn't notice herself doing it, but she seemed very aware of it right now.
Everything really was great and she hadn't expected this. She knew the point was that she wasn't supposed to have been expecting it. It was meant to be a surprise after all. He seemed relieved when she said it was perfect. 'Like he really needs me to tell him that...' she thought, smiling at him. It seemed like he should know it was perfect because that was what it seemed like he was trying to achieve. She tilted her head as she watched him as he spoke about not having to do all this, but how he wanted to. “Well, I'm not complaining...” she mumbled before she'd even really thought about it. She closed her eyes for a moment, feeling a blush creep up into her cheeks. 'And I definitely wouldn't mind if you ever wanted to do this again...' she managed to think without verbalising it this time. She was really finding it strange that she could barely bring herself to ask things of significant importance, but she would easily blurt out the things that she should have really kept to herself.
She tried her best to keep her breathing as steady as she could as Edward held her. She didn't want to give away the fact he was sending little electric currents through her every time he touched her. She swallowed as subtly as she could as he traced her jaw with his lips. She bit her lip and closed her eyes as he nuzzled against her neck. She opened her eyes again the moment she felt Edward's fingers wrap around her hands. She twisted her hands in his so that she could wrap her fingers around his hands. She shook her head slowly as he spoke. “I told you...if you want to talk, I'm here,” she said softly. “I'm here for you,” she added smiling sweetly. She cast her eyes down for a moment at his comment about things being hard for her as well. They were hard only because she had had to try and keep herself off of Edward, not that she would jump him like most people probably wanted to. Other than that, there was the family thing...“I'm used to it,” she replied, sighing. Granted, she wasn't used to her dad being out of action, but she was used to the hostility that came with her family.
She smirked when Edward agreed about not wanting to think about school. It was hardly an appropriate thing, considering he said that they didn't have to keep up the appearances that they did there. She felt a blush rise up her neck and cheeks as he smiled at her question. She couldn't tell if that was a happy smile or something else. She bit her lip as she waited for him to speak. She was slightly taken aback when he leant towards her and kissed her before speaking. She felt her heart flutter in her chest when he said they would be more than friends, but only if she wanted them to be. “Us...” she muttered. That was one of the things he had said to her. He had been the one who had said it first. “I like that thought, remember? But, it's not all about me, is it? It takes more than one person to make an 'us'...” she replied with a gentle smile. She smirked again, laughing softly when he said he hoped that he was decent enough to not just kiss and tell. “That would ruin the 'appearance' though, wouldn't it?” she joked.
She wrapped both of her hands around Edward's other hand as one traced her jawline. She smiled gently at him as a smile graced his face. She held his gaze as best as she could as he searched her eyes. It was like he was looking for some sort of approval. Couldn't he tell that he'd had it from her from the very first minute they had met? “I always thought 'us' sounded so much better when it involved you and me,” she said gently, smiling broadly. She lowered their hands, leaning her cheek further into the one that rested against her jaw. She turned Edward's hand that she held over in her hands, eyes flicking between watching her fingers tracing the lines in his hand and looking at Edward's face. “What do you want?” she questioned. She felt like it sounded a bit of a presumptuous question of a sort. “Do you want us to be more than friends?” she questioned gently. “I can't be the only one making the decision,” she commented, eyes searching his, now looking for his approval of her.

It was true that any normaly family of the Cullens wealth would no doubtably have had champagne at some point in their lives. However the Cullens were far from normal and Champagne did nothing for them. In his human youth Edward had not been in the postition to afford such fine wines, he did often wonder what it would have been like though. 'Indeed there is...' He commented, he wasnt keen on actually drinking or eating anything that night. The thought of having to bring it up later brought shivers to his spine. He was quite amazed how Damienne hadnt seemed to ave picked up the fact that she never saw any of the Cullens eat... Then again it wasnt like he was going to point it out. The longer she stayed oblivious the better as far as Edward was concerned. He noticed though that Damienne seemed to be taking in his every move, watching him do the smallest things 'Are you okay Mia?' He asked, a slight frown of concern flittered across his face.
Edward had never done anything like this before, he had also never had to impress anyone like he was trying to impress Damienne. It made him nervous and he wanted everything to be perfect, but he wasnt quite sure what was perfect for Damienne, though her thoughts were pointing him in the right direction. He was reassured that she was enjoying it and he smiled as she said she wasnt complaining 'Good, I wouldnt want that now.' He watched the blush spread across her cheeks and he smiled, such a beautiful feature that reminded him of how human she really was. Her thoughts were like music to his ears, he wouldnt mind spoilling her every moment he could. Though Edward tried hard not to think too far ahead into their future, it would only bring down his mood and make him worry and thats the last thing he wanted right now.
No matter how hard Damienne tried to hide her reactions to what was happening Edward still saw everything. He could hear her heart racing, and hear her shaking breathing. Of course being a vampire helped him pick out these small human tell tale signs. He heard her swallow, though he was sure she once again was trying to hide it from him, it really wasnt going to work. There was something so nice and calming about having their hands intertwined. Edward simply sighed when she said if he wanted to talk she was there. He had wanted to talk to someone about how he was feeling about the whole Alice situation but he couldnt talk to Damienne about it, no matter how much he wanted, he couldnt. He shook his head slightly 'Perhaps... One day, not now' He smiled, after all he wanted this evening to be fun and there was little point in ruining it for Damienne just so he could cry like a little kid about his life. 'Thankyou' He smiled gently to her looking into her eyes.
The smile on his face widened as she said she prefered the word 'us' when it refered to them 'Me too.' His gaze moved away from hers for a moment, he was looking for approval, he had never done anything like this before and he wasnt sure if he was doing the right things. He sighed as he breathed in slowly and took in her scent, it really was the most wonderful, yet horribly tempting thing he had ever smelt. He considered her question and decided that she wouldnt accept 'what ever you want' as an acceptable answer. 'I want...' He paused when he though about all the things he wanted and he wondered how to express it all to her. 'I want to protect you for the rest of your life, to be with you every step of the way. I want to never be apart from you, to treasure moments with you and most of all... For you to be happy.'
He closed his eyes and let out a slow breath, his hands reaching up to tangle in her hair, moving her forehead to rest against his. He wanted to say more, but he couldnt. He wanted to protect her from all the dangerous things in the world, human and non human. He wanted to make sure she lived a full life and that she would live a natural life, unlike him. He wanted to love her always, but the selfish part of him also didnt want to come to terms with the fact that one day he would have to leave her. He opened his eyes and looked to her 'Does it sound like anything you would want? Or am I being dellusional?' Perhaps he was reading too much into the whole situation, he still had his doubts whether this really was what she wanted.
