Alice took in a deep breath as she prepared herself. She knew Jasper was just getting home, it had been a few hours since she had collapsed in Carlisles Office, she knew he would feel the tension in the air. Carlisle was deeply worried, she didnt need to be able to read his mind to see that, however that was nothing compared to what Edward felt. He was also worried, but deeply annoyed at himself for letting things get so far out of hand. It hadnt been his fault, she had been trying to fool everyone into thinking she was okay.
Of course she knew the hardest person to deal with would be Jasper. Edward was close to her and they loved each other, but Jasper was so much more, he completed her. She knew he was incredibly protective of her and it would crush him to know there was something really wrong. She tried to calm her emotions as best she could, but there was still a lot of fear in her aura. Alice was used to hiding things from Edward, but hiding emotions from Jasper was so difficult and now she had to hide things from both of them in order to stop them lashing out.
As she heard the door to their room open Alice turned and smiled to Jasper, Carlisle and Edward had thought it best to talk to him herself. Edward having heard Jasper was home was making sure he wasnt anywhere near them, he didnt really want to be near Jasper when he was worried, it would only make things worse. 'Jasper' She skipped lightly to him and took his hands looking into his eyes and smiling. Though she tried her best she knew he would know there was something wrong. However she didnt intent to tell him everything.
She had been thinking during her wait for him to return how he would react if she told him everything, she had decided for the good of the whole family that Jasper needed to remain as calm as possible, they needed him more than she did at the moment, she was strong enough to take it. She couldnt bare to think of a life without Jasper, it would have been like someone had ripped her heart out of her chest. She could only imagine he would feel the same. 'Theres been a small problem.' She didnt know if it was the best way to start, but it was the best she could manage, she was still shaken from what had just happened.

"Why, when you know I'll just kick your ass?" was all Jasper had managed to say before Emmett practically dragged him out of the house to 'exercise'. It seemed everyone was doing their best to stay away from him today, if not, keep him away from the house. It was strange. It was obvious Emmett's 'distraction' wasn't working that well, with Jasper in a world of his own in his head as his slightly taller, bulkier 'brother' swiped at him, throwing him around without Jasper so much as blinking...not that he really had to.
Eventually, he got tired of being thrown around like a rag doll, shoving Emmett into a nearby tree. He was away from Alice and, more importantly, he was away from Alice and he knew something was wrong with her, but no one was telling him a thing. Having shoved Emmett, he walked away without another word, loudly singing in his head as he went back to the house. Edward wasn't getting in his head. He was focused on where he was going and who he was seeking out. Edward wasn't going to distract him with mind games.
He entered the house, a scowl settled on his pale, handsome features as he went straight to Alice, his expression softening when she smiled at him. He tried to seem as calm as possible. The last thing he needed was people freaking out, just because he was panicking inside his lyric filled head, blocking Edward out. He took Alice's hands in his own as she grabbed for them, running his thumbs over the back of her knuckles. He smiled ever so slightly as she spoke his name, still not speaking a word since the moment he had left the house before.
He desperately wanted to know what was going on, but, if people were keeping him out of the loop, it had to be for a reason, right? He straightened his back, standing taller as he tilted his head slightly, honey colored curls half falling down in front of his darkened eyes when she said there'd been a problem. A small problem? Is that all this was? If so, why didn't he know what was going on? "Care to elaborate?" he said softly, the southern twang of his accent a little more dominant as he tried to take on a serious, yet caring tone.

Alice could see in his face that he could feel the tension. It had been growing for a few days now, though that was mainly because she was keeping secrets from Edward and he was annoyed she wouldnt let him in her head. It had been a mistake as she had found out today, it had only made things far worse. Her emotions werent as calm as they had been when he had left, before there was worry but now there was something stronger than that, though she was trying her best to not feel panicy. She worried more about Jasper than she ever did herself, though she knew Jasper worried more about her. Most of the time it was unfounded however this time it wasnt.
Her smile remained as he caressed the back of her hands with his thumbs. To the amazement of their siblings Emmett and Rosalie they didnt feel the need to break beds and furniture to show their feelings. The simplest touch of the skin was enough, though of course it helped that Jasper had his gift. Alice never having known her human lif didnt always understand the need to be so physical anyway, she was just happy to hold his hands.
The corners of her mouth twitched upwards hearing the southern twang slip into his voice. It always made her smile, it reminded her of the first time they met all those years ago. Jasper was her life, her first memory was seeing his face in her future, she could not ever not having Jasper there. 'Its nothing too important really' She hoped that making it sound like she wasnt worried would somehow convince him this wasnt what all the tension was really about. 'Its just that I have been getting a few headaches, I have had them before, but these are a little stronger'
She moved her hands lightly letting her small fingers intertwine with his, she really didnt want him to know more than that, she wanted what happened in Carlisles office to remain a secret between her, Carlisle and Edward. She knew Jasper was on edge as it was without having him know she had collapsed bleeding. 'Carlisle just wants to keep an eye out though, incase they get worse' She took in another breath knowing exactly what the others would be told. 'He wanted everyone to keep an eye on me, I wanted to tell you myself.' Her posture relaxed a little, having gotten that off her chest.
She only hoped now that he wouldnt ask too many questions, she needed his soothing company right now. Though so did Carlisle and Edward, she felt guilty that Carlisle was so distraught, it was all her fault and Edward was just as worried. Though this was exactly the reason she didnt want Jasper to know, the whole family would suffer if he were to worry and Alice didnt want or need that. She gave Jasper a soft smile and squeezed his hands gently, she knew he would have questions.

Jasper watched Alice closely, hoping for some give away of what was wrong with her. He hated this whole being in the dark thing. It was really becoming very irritating to him. Alice was his life and not knowing what was wrong with her was like having some part of his life he couldn't grasp anymore and it was starting to drive him insane. His smile remained, just as Alice's did as they stood there simply holding hands. He just wanted to know what was so wrong that they all had to keep it from him.
He tilted his head slightly as he watched her, scowling slightly as she spoke. "It must be something," he replied, searching her expression. His scowled deepened. "Headaches?" he questioned. "You don't get 'headaches'," he commented, not quite believing what he was being told. As far as he knew, she didn't get headaches anyway. This must have been something she kept to herself. If they didn't scare her, they didn't bother him. He shifted his fingers slowly as she tried to lock her fingers with his.
His scowl remained when she said Carlisle wanted to keep an eye on her. So, Carlisle definitely knew then. This made Jasper's jaw tighten. Why was he kept out of the loop? Why with Alice? His expression softened slightly when she said she had wanted to tell him herself. At least she had done that for him. "Look, if you don't want to tell me, that's fine," he began softly. "I will find out eventually, you know I will, but when it really matters, right?" he questioned, expression softening to a neutral one as he lightly squeezed her hands.

Alice knew it was going to be hard to believe that she was getting headaches. It was true Vampires didnt get headaches, it wasnt normal at all. Then again neither was crying blood and collapsing... She cringed slightly away as he scowled, she didnt like Jasper being upset since not only did it upset her, but with his gift it could potentially cause problems. 'I know, thats why Carlisle wants to keep an eye on me.' she leaned forward letting her head rest gently on his chest. She sighed gently closing her eyes. Even with his stressed mood she found his company calming.
She pulled him gently to the couch and sat down with him. 'I just want everything to run as normal, I dont need anyone worrying over me' She gave him that carefree reassuring smile, though she wished she felt so relaxed. Though her tension wasnt helped that Jasper was seemingly leaking the emotion at the moment. 'You know me Jasper... I can cope with anything' She giggled slightly wanting to lighten Jaspers mood slightly. Her eyes looked into his and she smiled, looking into those pools of emotion brought back so many fond memories.
'Carlisle and Edward need us to be strong Jazzy, Carlisle doesnt have Esme at the moment and everythings going wrong for Edward. I am worried about Edward more than I could worry about myself.' Jasper knew she had a strong bond with Edward, though nothing near as strong as their own bond. Edward was a loose cannon and his actions affected them all, if Edward was stressed Alice became stressed to. When he ran from them she felt like he took part of her with him. She leaned into Jasper again closing her eyes and enjoying having him close. She had so much to worry about already, she didnt want to worry about herself, she was totally unselfish.

Jasper lightened up slightly, as he let go of Alice's hands to pull her against his chest, wrapping his arms around her, feeling calmer now, just for her. "If Carlisle's looking after you, you'll be fine," he commented, feeling slightly annoyed that he couldn't do anything, but be there for her. He raised one of his arms, the other remaining around her back, to resting his hand against the back of her head, running his fingers into her hair. If he was being left out, maybe it was better for everyone.
He let her go as she pulled him onto the couch. He rested back against the couch back, crossing one leg over the thigh of the other. He nodded slowly as she spoke, watching her darkened eyes. He smiled again, despite himself. "Of course you can, pixie," he commented softly, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and using the other one to brush his hand back through his honey curls, still smiling. He dropped his hand, resting it on the arm rest and still watching Alice. He looked around for a moment before turning back to her.
Arm still wrapped around her shoulder, he pulled her closer to him slightly, bringing that hand up to her hair. "Edward just needs to..." Jasper stopped himself, biting his tongue before he said something he'd regret like he was about to say. Edward seemed to get a lot of attention, like some golden boy. He closed his eyes, a new wave of calm being formulated in the back of his mind. He rested his head on the top of hers as she rested against him. "Everything will be fine," he said softly, not sure if he believed himself.

Alice smiled, she had faith in Caralisle, though there was that worry at the back of her mind. She knew Carlisle didnt know what was wrong, thats why he was getting so stressed out. It was all her fault and it upset her to think she was a problem for her family. Every time their skin touched she felt herself calm a little, Jasper was the only member of the family who understood her completely. He was her soul mate, her protector and the only love of her life. She had never known mortal love, Jasper taught her everything to do with her emotions and their bond was proabably the most special withing the family.
She giggled lightly as he drew her closer 'Grow up?' She knew that Edward had a childish temper on him, but he unlike the others in the family hadnt found his soul mate. She knew he got very lonely and living with three couples didnt really help that much. She owed a lot to Edward, he was always helping her keep a tab on how Jasper was coping around humans. Though she knew Jasper didnt like it, Alice was glad to have a way to reassure herself Jasper would cope with everything. 'I am sure it will be' She smiled sighing gently.
She hoped that Esme would come home soon, both Carlisle and the rest of the family needed her support right now. 'How did your re match with Emmett go?' She knew Emmett and Jasper loved their little fights, Jasper didnt like the thought of Alice fighting, though he knew sh could handle herself very well. Though in her current condition she didnt really know if she would be any good in a fight.

Jasper settled down further into the couch, slouching where he was sat, pulling Alice with him. He laughed lightly as she attempted to finish his sentence. "I was more thinking 'get over himself', but 'grow up' is a little less mean," he replied, pressing his lips against her forehead, giving her a soft kiss. He looked to his hand where it hung off the edge of the arm rest, lifting it slightly to flex his slender fingers before looking around the room. It had surprised him that no one had made themselves known by now.
He nodded once, in a manner that would often resemble Alice's defiant one. "With Carlisle on the case, everything will be fine," he commented, resting his cheek against the top of her head. He laughed lightly when she asked how his rematch with Emmett went. "It's me and Emmett," he replied simply. "How do you think it went?" he questioned. He chuckled lightly to himself again. "I let him throw me round like a toy before hitting him back," he explained simply, shrugging slightly. That was the way he had felt today.

Alice giggled, it wasnt forced and it was her usual care free light and airy laugh. 'You should hope hes not listening, he might get offended.' Of course she knew edward wasnt, he had made it clear he didnt want to be anywhere near them when they talked. She looked up and smiled at the kiss. It wasnt often they shared moments like this, Alice loved her private time with Jasper, she always felt more relaxed. Her arm wrapped gently around him, people always thought them an odd pair, and they were. They were so different in so many ways but that never bothered her.
She laughed again, she knew exactly how their fights went down, Jasper was such a good fighter, stratigic, where as Emmett was all brawn. Alice reached up with her thin fingers and traced on the of the shining scars on his face, his constant reminder of his past. Each one was part of him and she loved them all, even if he didnt. 'Is Emmett okay then?' She imagined that he had hit Emmett fairly hard, though it had probably irritated the hell out of their 'bear' of a brother.
'Some time after school this week we have to go hunting' She looked into Jaspers eyes, they werent as bright as they could be and she knew that going to school was a struggle for him when he was hungry. Also Carlisle wanted her to feed too, she thought it was a bit of an extreme to insist it but if it gave him peace of mind she was willing to go along with it.

Jasper smirked, shrugging slightly. "Edward can bite me," he commented offhandedly in a low tone, looking down at Alice in the corner of his eye as he faced the rest of the room. He shifted a little as Alice wrapped her arm around him now. He tilted his head down, resting his cheek against the top of her head again. He closed his eyes slowly, calming himself down further. It was better for everyone when he was calm and he was calmest when he was with Alice, no matter what the situation. They just worked.
He shifted in his seat again, more out of the human reactions they had all seemed to perfect than out of the need to get comfortable. He turned his eyes to Alice as she ran her gentle fingers over his face, knowing full well she was looking at all of the scars that marked his flawed marble skin. Sometimes, he wished he didn't have them. They were just another reminder of his tragic past. Another step closer to what he used to be. He shrugged when she asked about Emmett, not moving anymore now. "No idea," he began simply. "I walked off."
He looked away from her for a moment when she started searching his dark eyes. "I don't need to," he said defiantly. He turned to her, pulling a slight face. He shook his head. "I'll be fine," he tried to insist, but he figured if they were going to make her eat, they'd probably make him eat as well, before her turned into a loose cannon. He scowled slightly, closing his eyes. He knew full well he needed to eat. The dark eyes and the dark circles under his eyes were a dead giveaway on him.

Alice sighed just enjoying the moment of Jasper being close. Although he was the one with the gift for manipulating emotions if was amazing how the two of them together seemed to radiate calming waves. Their total dedication and love for each other, the way they just fit like pieces of a puzzle to make something whole. Alice wasnt ever totally calm without Jasper and she knew it was the same the other way round. 'He would have to better you first' She giggled lightly, although Edward was faster and could read his mind, Jasper had the advantage of having fought in a vampire war. His experience in fighting was amazing, though she knew he didnt like using it.
She smirked a little, though she felt a little bad, poor Emmett, he was always trying to better Jasper, it never really worked though. Emmett sometimes didnt see how brawn and strength werent always the deciding factor in a battle. She let her fingers leave his face, she liked his scars, they were part of him so how could she not love them? But she knew things werent always that simple, she had no painful memories, but Jasper did. She also knew that Jasper would do anything to protect her from the dangers of the world out there.
Alice radiated concern, but this time it wasnt for her, it was for Jasper. She had seen his darkening eyes and it worried her greatly. 'Jazzy...' Sometimes she wished Jasper would let her help him, she didnt always need protection from everything. She sighed gently and pushed herself up, planting a loving and rare kiss on his cheek.

Jasper reached over and took one of Alice's up in his own, running his thumb over the back of her fingers as they just sat there cuddled together. He took in and let out a slow, deep breath as he watched the simple gesture. His eyes wandered over to Alice's face as she spoke, a slight smirk crossing his lips at her words. "This is true," he replied simply before chewing on the inside of his lip and looking back at their hands again. Her hand was so much smaller than his, but fit so perfectly there. He shifted his hand, interlocking their fingers again, squeezing her hand lightly.
He slowly opened his eyes as Alice said her variation of his name, turning them onto her face again. "I just need to know you're going to be okay again first," he replied softly, closing his eyes and smiling gently as she pushed herself up to kiss his cheek. He let her hand go to reach up and rest it against her cheek as he turned and pressed his lips against herself gently. "I need you to be better," he breathed as he moved away, resting his forehead against hers and looking into her eyes, concern filtering through him.
He stood slowly, pulling Alice with him. He raised his arm to twirl her under it as she often liked him to do. He then pulled her arms up and moved them, so that she would wrap them around the back of his neck. He wrapped his arms around her waist and bowed his head down low, nuzzling his face into the crook of her neck. "I need you," he whispered softly, kissing her neck briefly and squeezing her tighter in his arms. He didn't know what was going on and if they were keeping it from him, he was relatively sure he didn't want to know.

Alice was enjoying their moment together, even though she knew she was having to lie to the one she loved. She wished she could just tell him the truth and not have to hide her real emotions from him, but it was for the best. She smiled at his smirk, although Edward could read minds and was faster Jasper was by far the better fighter. They would give each other a run for their money but Jasper had fought so many vampires before, plus he could manipulate their emotions to his advantage. She watched as his long fingers intertwined with her much smaller ones. Their difference in sizes never bothered either of them, Alices small frame always made her seem more vunerable than she was... Jasper knew she was a strong fighter, but that didnt stop him from not wanting Alice to fight at all.
She looked deep into her eyes, she wanted to tell him the truth, that she was more frigthened than she had ever felt before. However she wouldnt let that show to him, it was taking all her strength to hide her emotions from Jasper and her thoughts from Edward. It was a strain on her but it needed to be done, she couldnt have them worrying so much over her. 'I'll be fine Jazzy... You know I will' She smiled and enjoyed the feeling of his lips against her. Looking deeply into his darkened eyes and sighing slightly 'I am more worried about you...' She could see his concern, but it was unfounded in her eyes. Jasper was the one who needed her to be strong for him, she couldnt allow herself to be weak.
She stooed with Jasper and giggled as he twirled her, she span more gracefully than any ballerina could wish for. Her arms reached up around his neck and she reached up on tippy toes, herlips resting on the side of his neck as he nuzzled her gently. 'I need you too Jazzy...' She needed him more than he could ever know at that moment. She needed his calming emotions to stop her from breaking down. She was being strong, but she really didnt know how much longer she could keep it all in. She closed her eyes and squeezed him back, taking in his scent and the feel of him close to her. She didnt want the moment to end, she felt so safe and carefree in his arms.
'When we go hunting I want you to feed Jasper... Please?' She didnt normally have to plead with him about this sort of thing, but he was being unusually stubborn. Then again so was she so she really couldnt blame him all that much. His dark eyes scared her and she was worried he would lash out either at his family, or at someone at school. The latter being the worst, if Jasper lashed out at his family then they stood a chance, but the humans at the school were something totally different all together.

Jasper enjoyed any stolen moments he could have with Alice and this entire thing felt like one big set up or something. He wasn't in one something. It was like those awful reality TV shows where people get set up and they're completely obviously, regardless of how stupid things start to become and then are only given the release of the truth when they really need it the most, when they are most angry or upset or something. He still didn't see the point in them. It was just something he was aware of and he felt it was a good comparison for this situation he was in. He remained calm now. There was no point spoiling a good thing. If things were going to get worse, he would deal with them when it came to it.
Eyes locked with Alice's, he felt a hint of something. Fear? He scowled slightly at the sense of feeling as she simply looked up at him. It felt like she was on the verge of telling him something, but then nothing happened. She just looked up at him, her eyes fixed on his. He wanted to believe her words. He genuinely wanted her to be fine, of course, but something in his gut, in his mind, was telling him that something was going to go terribly wrong. He smiled softly at her, nevertheless, as she smiled at him. He shook his head, laughing ever so slightly. "You don't need to worry about me," he replied, casting his eyes away for a moment. He knew how worried everyone was with him most of the time. He was the newest 'vegetarian' and he still had his will power to work on.
He smiled gently as she giggled when he twirled her, her slight form spinning gracefully under his arm. He chewed on his lip as she wrapped her arms around his neck and reached up and kissed his neck, causing him to shiver. There wasn't much that could get a reaction of him like that, but Alice was guarenteed, every time. He nuzzled her again as she spoke, squeezing her in his arms. She calmed him, even if there was something she was hiding from him. He smiled, kissing her neck as she squeezed him back. He took a deep, unneccessary breath as he took in her closeness and, more especially, her smell. He wanted to be the one to make everything right for her, but, if she wasn't going to share her problems, he couldn't help.
His smile faded and a scowl appeared as she pleaded with him to feed when they went hunting. He lifted his face out of her neck and pressed his lips against her forehead, not really looking at her, more just looking over the top of her head and staring at the other wall. "If I find my appetite, I will," he replied softly, still not looking at her. He felt the hunger burning in his throat, but the hunger was completely detached from his appetite and any wish to eat at the moment. His stubbornness was obvious, but it wasn't his fault if he couldn't find the will to eat. He wanted Alice to be better first. That's what his mind wanted, then maybe it would let him eat and make himself better. That's assuming Alice could get better...

Alice noticed Jaspers scowl and looked away from him for a moment, she obviously wasnt hiding her emotions as well as she thought she was. She looked quickly back to him, she didnt want him getting uptight or worried about the situation, she already had Edward working overtime on the worrying part, Carlisle was doing his fair share too. She didnt need her Jazzy to be the same way, she just wanted things to be normal so she could forget it all. She rolled her eyes slightly and smirked 'I never NEED to do anything... I still do though.' She couldnt really understand how hard all of this was for Jasper, none the less though she would always be there to help support him when he needed it... Even if he insisted he did need it.
She sighed happily in his arms, feeling him shiver slightly at her touch brought a soft smile to her lips. She also took a breath, to take in his scent, it calmed and soothed her. She didnt quite understand how humans could get by without the sense of smell that a vampire had, to miss out on the feelings you would get when you could smell the scent of your loved one would be unbareble for her. Then again humans in general were just a puzzle to her that she just couldnt understand, no matter how hard she tried. At least the others remembered part of what it was like to be human, not like her.
There it was again, another scowl. Alice felt her heart sag slightly as he replied, how could she remain strong through this if he was going to be so dangerously stubborn. She sighed gently and pushed slightly away so she could look up into his eyes. Going on tippy toe a little to make her point a little clearer, since she was so damn short next to him. 'Have you looked behind the Sofa? When I lose things they normally end up there... Except for my hairclip.' She smirked a little trying to lighten the mood slightly. She just wanted to relax with him and not have to worry about anything, not even the future.
'I think I need to go shopping again' She sighed whimsically. 'I am running out of new clothes to wear' She giggled slightly and let her hands drop to his, letting her slender fingers wrap with his. She could really do with another shopping trip soon, it would certainly help her get her mind off all the things happening at the moment. The tensions in the house were rising, she knew Carlisle was struggling without Esme there to lean on. She wanted to get out of the house, just her and Jasper and unwind. Though that was unlikely to happen any time soon since she knew Edward would be reluctant to let her out of his sight.
