Jasper watched Alice closely. He just wanted to know what was going on. That's all he wanted. Well, besides Alice. He always wanted Alice. That was just a given, but, right now, other than his needs for Alice, he wanted to know what the hell was going on and why on Earth he was being left out. He sighed. It'd pass...right? They'd tell him eventually. He was sure of it. He was more annoyed with the fact he was always the last to know what was going on, like he couldn't handle himself or something. His thirst wasn't exactly as brilliantly controlled as everyone else, but, sometimes, thirst wasn't a factor and he should have been able to know what was going on from the start without them all hiding things from him like he was a little kid or something. He wasn't stupid.
He shook his head slightly as Alice rolled her eyes at him. "You don't need to do anything, this is true," he repeated and commented. He chewed his lip for a moment, considering how else he could say what he needed to say. "How about I don't want you to worry about me?" he tried. It was probably one of the worst things he could have said...well, along with a number of other things, but he really didn't want her to worry about him when she was this way. She had to focus on herself sometimes. He could worry enough for the both of them, so she should be able to just worry about herself, if at all. He watched her closely, still hoping she'd let her guard down, if only for a moment for him to try and work out what was really going on.
He felt her mood drop slightly as he scowled and remained stubborn about his appetite. It was his choice. He tensed a little as she pushed against him, panic sweeping over him for a moment before he realized she wasn't actually going anywhere, just adjusting to look at him differently. He closed his eyes, shaking his head slightly at her response. "Alice..." he simply said before opening his eyes again. He couldn't help, but smirk at the look on her face. "No, your hair often finds itself in my hair...I wonder why that is..." he jested, tilting his head at her, his smile broadening. "Remind me that I'm owed a very long round of 'find the hair clip' when things are settled," he went on, smirking still.
He laughed lightly when she said she thought she needed to go shopping again. "How on Earth can you be running out of clothes?" he questioned, knowing it was a stupid question. She was always 'running out of clothes'. "We'll get away one weekend. Just you and me," he replied softly, pressing his lips against her forehead as she took hold of his hands. He looked down to her. "You promise things are going to be ok?" he questioned, wondering if it was a promise she would be able to make. Maybe that would give him some clue as to what was going on. If she couldn't make the promise, maybe it was time to panic. If she could make the promise, he would have to trust that she wasn't lying to him to save his feelings.

Alice felt terrible for having to hide things from Jasper, then she knew things would be bad if she didnt. She could just imagine the look on his face if she bounded up to him and said 'Hey Japser guess what? This real crazy thing happened today where I saw myself dead and I collapsed on Carlisle's floor and cried blood... No that certainly wasn't the road to go down. After all she didn't need Jasper to worry about her, she already had Edward doing enough worrying to cover the entire family, as well as carlisle on top of that. The only way she was going to be able to stay sane was if Jasper didn't know what was going on and remained calm for her... It was the best way.
Alice shook her head slightly as he tried to rephrase what he said 'Ain't gonna work Jazzy and you know it...' She poked her tongue out a little before adding 'That would be like me saying I didn't want you to worry about me... Ain't gonna happen' She made a little playful smug face, no matter how Jasper phrased his words she was sure she would be able to turn them right back at him on that particular subject. Alice was never selfish, well perhaps on the odd occasion, but even then it was over petty little things like stealing Jazzy or Rosalie away from the others for some much needed retail therapy. She was certainly never selfish about her own well being, Jaspers perhaps, but not her own.
She giggled softly seeing his smirk, though she had noticed him tense as she had pushed away from him slightly. She felt a silent sigh, Jasper should know she would never leave him... She couldnt do it, perhaps if he was in danger, but that was a different matter all together. She looked up to him with those wide innocent eyes that just screamed 'who me?' at him. 'Are you trying to imply that *I* have something to do with that Jazzy?' She looked to him with an overly emphasised appauled expression. 'Its not *MY* fault your hair screams to be clipped back...' She giggled that light airy laugh and poked out her tongue playfully.
As Jasper asked how the hell she could be running out of clothes she simply looked to him and pouted. 'But Jazzy I only have 300 tops, 100 trousers, 30 jeans, 15 skirts, 68 dresses, 246 pairs of shoes and 840 accessory items...' That was only the things lingering in the wardrobes, the rest was tucked away in storage for later use. 'I've worn everything at least once now...' She giggled slightly, if she had worn EVERYTHING at least once it was time for a new shopping trip. 'I would like that' Just the two of them... it would be so very nice.
As Jasper asked his question Alice felt shock, but also fear, how the hell was she going to answer that question? Though she shoved those emotions away, only hoping that Jasper had only detected her shock. She looked deep into his eyes, she had never lied to him, but how could she tell him she was uncertain of her future? Or at least she knew that her future only held death? Not even Carlisle or Edward knew what she had seen and they were worried enough... Jasper would be uncontrolable if for one moment he knew there was a chance she might die... 'Everythings gonna be fine Jazzy' She smiled gently and reached up cupping his face with her hand 'I promise' Her smile hid any doubt she had, for Jazzy's sake she was strong, it was simply the way things had to be.

Jasper watched her closely as she still refused to tell him something, anything. He tilted his head as he watched her closely, hoping she'd give something away. She almost seemed like she was elsewhere in her head, probably distracted by the current situation he was being left out of. He smirked as she picked up on his attempt at rephrasing things. "It was worth a try," he retaliated innocently, pulling her closer to him and biting his lip as he looked her up and down. He laughed lightly when she stuck her tongue out at him, mirroring the action as she spoke. "Yes, ma'am," he responded, his Southern drawl pulling at his accent. Some said it made it sound more genuine when he was apologizing. He felt it made him stick out like a sore thumb, especially in Forks of all places. He never really fit in anywhere though, apart from wherever Alice was and Alice had chosen her place with the Cullens.
He continued to smile at the smug expression playing over her face. He then chewed on his lip as he tried to consider another alternative, but nothing he could do other than what he had already done would make sense. He would have to try a different tactic with this whole situation. he laughed lightly as she began to reply to his accusations. "Yes, quite frankly, I am, Pixie," he retaliated with a broad smile. "And to be honest, it's a little immasculating," he jested, laughing again. He lifted his eyes to look at the soft curls that lay on his forehead. "Maybe I should just cut it all off then," he offered in thought. "It wouldn't scream to be clipped back then because there'd be nothing to clip back in the first place," he went on, playful tone tainting the fact he was trying to play serious. He shook his head and laughed as he looked back down at her, broad smile still playing across his pale features.
He rolled his eyes at her as she responded to his dig about her running out of clothes. "You have an answer for just about anything, don't you?" he question playfully, still smiling. He smiled softly as she said she'd like the little trip for just the two of them. "Good," he said softly, leaning towards her and kissing her forehead gently. There was a slight moment of emotional confusion within Alice when he asked his more serious questions. He scowled slightly, trying to ignore the sudden lapse in anything. He straightened his expression, but bit down hard on his lip as he waited for her to respond. His expression relaxed when she said everything was going to be fine and reached up to grab his face. "I hope so," he said in a very low, gentle tone, a soft smile shaping his lips before he leant in to kiss hers gently. He hoped she could keep the promise. Either way, he'd be there.

Every moment spent with Jasper calmed her greatly, even though she felt bad about having to keep such a serious secret from him. She knew that he would understand, at least she hoped he would. When they knew for sure what was going on, then she would talk to Jasper about it. Until Carlisle was sure what was going on she saw little point in Jazzy worrying over her. She didn't blame him for trying though and it pained her to hide it all. She knew she would be just as worried if the roles were reversed. She smirked back to Jasper, it would take more than just rephrasing to get her to slip anything up. She giggled lightly as Jasper poked his tongue back out at her, she was sure they would be fine... The two of them together could get through anything.
Alice simply had a horrified face when he mentioned about cutting his hair. 'Noooo! She squeeled reaching up to run her fingers through his curly golden locks. 'You will do no such thing Jasper Nathaniel Hale!' She looked into his eyes with a mocking serious tone befor giggling. 'Any way I need a place to put them... it stops me losing them. See I lost my favourite one with the little butterfly on it and I'm sure its cause I didnt put it in your hair...' She sighed slightly, she guessed she would have to try buy another one like it. She smiled, happy to see that smile on his lips. She felt her heart melt as she looked into his eyes, he was so perfect in every way, she felt a happy sigh leave her lips.
A smirk played across her own lips as she nodded slowly 'Yep... And never forget that mista!' She giggled and rested her head against his chest. She knew they sometimes made an odd couple, but Jasper and Alice truely were made for each other. It didnt matter what other people said about them, its what they felt that counted. She liked spending time alone with him, once all of this was over she wanted some time just the two of them. They could go travelling for a bit, just the two of them and be the married couple they were, rather than the school kids they had to pretend to be.
She smiled and nodded her head gently, this was simply the way things had to be, even if it killed her deep inside to lie. She only hoped that Jasper would never have to find out the full truth. It scared her so much, she could only imagine how much it would scare Jasper too. 'I know so' She kissed him back gently with a happy sigh, she knew that no matter what happened to her, things would turn out for the best somehow.

Jasper knew that the truth will out eventually, in the mean time, as ever, he would just have to be as patient with everyone as he always found himself being. He smirked as she giggled. It was such a melodious sound and he would certainly never grow tired of hearing it. He smirked again at the horrified look on her face when he said he'd just cut his hair. It had been quite an evil comment to make, but someone had to change the subject eventually. He dropped back slightly as she ran her fingers through his hair. He laughed lightly. "As if you middle named me," he commented, laughing still. He raised an eyebrow at her when she said she needed some place to put them, so that she didn't lose them. He laughed lightly at her anecdote about losing her favourite comb and blaming it on the fact she hadn't put it in his hair.
“That's all well and good, but it's not good when you do it when Emmett's around,” he replied. “You know how he can be,” he added with a wink. He reached up to brush a hand through her hair as she looked at him and sighed. He smirked again as she replied to his comment about her having an answer for everything. She really did. He laughed lightly. He simply sat back and watched her closely as they sat together in silence. Sometimes, you didn't need to speak to communicate. He smiled and laughed lightly as she replied. “I know,” he replied simply, just before she kissed him back. He chewed on his lip for a moment, looking around the room again, wondering where everyone else was. Maybe they understood the importance of this conversation and had all conveniently found better things to be doing with their time for a change.
He looked back down at Alice now, not sure what he was supposed to do now. “I know you don't want to share, but will this be over soon?” he questioned, in reference to the current state of things. He just wanted things to be as they were, even if he had no idea what was going on. If it was going to be over soon, he wouldn't care if no one told him. He chewed on his lip again, considering what he could really do without knowing what was going on. “Is there anything I can do?” he went on to question. Probably not, but it was worth asking, right? He brushed a hand back through his golden curls, waiting for a response from Alice. He just wanted to help. “Or should I just get out of the way?” he added as a slight after thought. “I just don't know what to do...” he admitted. He had tried lightening the mood, but all he could think of was what could be so wrong.

Alice calmed herself as she pulled her serious face 'Jasper Hale, I shall middle name you as often as I please!' Her serious face did last long before she started giggling again. Considering how worried she was Jasper had certainly had a good effect on her. It was always the same though... Jasper just had that affect on her, he always managed to help her emotions calm when ever she was stressed.
She grinned as Jasper mentioned about having hair clips in his hair around Emmett 'Yeah for some strange reason Emmett wont let me put them in his hair... Besides his hair isnt long enough!' That as well as Rosalie would personally hunt her down and kill her if she found anything pink and frilly anywhere near Emmett. She giggled at the thought, perhaps she should try it one day... All she needed was Jasper to distract him... 'Of course I could try it on Edward... but you know how he gets, he wouldnt really apprieciate it either...' She giggled slightly as that thought crossed her mind.
Alice sighed as Jasper brought the subject back again, she wished she had answers to give him, but she didnt know what was going on herself. 'I hope so Jazzy... I really do...' She rested her head against his chest, she hoped he would never find out what was really happening to her, she didnt want him to worry 'Just be yourself... I need you Jazzy...' She squeezed him gently in a hug, she didnt want him to think he wasnt needed... Without him she would fall apart.

Jasper chuckled lightly to himself as Alice feigned a serious face and told him that she would 'middle name [him] as often as [she] pleased'. The smile remained on his face as she started giggling again. It was a glorious sound and he missed it. She didn't really laugh so much as of late, so much as just sort of look lost a lot of the time. She couldn't fool him and she could only just hide things from him. She was getting too good at hiding things from him and he didn't like that idea. He just wanted her to be honest with him. They had the rest of eternity together: they couldn't have a whole bunch of lies building up to one big lie that could affect things later. 'Things will calm down,' he had to tell himself in order for him to justify why Alice was keeping everything from him at the moment. 'Things will calm down. They will. Just believe in that. Believe in Alice,' he thought, sighing softly. He just needed to focus on Alice and the doubt would fade. It was just the accumulation of everything in between that bothered him the most.
He brushed a hand through his hair again as Alice grinned and replied to his comment about Emmett and how he could be when she insisted on putting clips in his hair. He laughed as she said 'for some strange reason, Emmett won't let [her] put them in his hair'. “I wonder why,” Jasper quickly exclaimed back to that comment, though he knew it had nothing to do with how long his hair was, despite that being a factor. “If I didn't love you so much, I imagine I'd be telling you 'no' as well,” he jested with a broad grin lighting up his features, brushing his hand up into the back of Alice's hair. He blinked slowly, watching her closely. He laughed again when Alice threw Edward into the conversation. “Oh, yeah, what are you talking about? He'd love it!” he out burst playfully. The playfulness faded to allow for the seriousness of the question he had asked. He rested his face in her hair when she spoke and rested her head against his chest. “I'll try,” was all he said when she asked him to 'be [him]self'.
