Edward had spoken to Carlisle who had spoken to Jason about the arrangements that night. It was going to be awkward, he didnt even know if Jason knew that he didnt actually sleep. He was still not happy about the whole situation and now meeting one of Damienne's shapeshifting brothers was going to be a real challenge. He had decided though after seeing the mountains of pink stuff Alice had managed to collect in such a small amount of time, that meeting Dorian was the lesser of two evils. He hopped into his car and sped into the night happily leaving the pink chaos behind him. He had packed a bag... Trying to at least look human for Damienne's sake...
It had taken him only 10 minutes to get over there, he didnt want to be anywhere near Alice when she started her decorating. 15 minutes after saying bye on the IM Edward tapped lightly on the now fixed door of the the Renton house. He was nervous that was for sure... He knew Jason would be watching him closely, but really this would be a walk in the park compared to dealing with Alice at the moment. He only hoped Damienne would answer the door, he wanted as little tension as possible... If it was possible.

'Edward's coming over. Edward's coming over,' Damienne thought, the same phrase playing over and over from the moment Edward had said 'see you in fifteen'. She was still dressed as she had been from school, having not bothered to change, eager to set up her laptop and then Edward had distracted her. She quickly changed, although, the outfit she chose was similar to that she had warn to school that day. She did feel better for the clean outfit though. She left out the shoes. There was no need for shoes. She wasn't exactly planning on going anywhere beyond the front porch. She rushed around tidying up her room, despite it not being that messy. Then she scurried into her father's room, just long enough to check on him and give him a look that read 'I'll get you back for this...' She went downstairs in order to straighten up the living room. She was surprised she'd managed anything by the time Edward arrived. She heard the Volvo pulling up outside the house. She smiled at the sound.
She moved to the front door, standing on the other side of it, checking herself over in the mirror. That was when she became aware of her hair still being up. She pulled the pin, shaking out her hair around her shoulders just before she unlocked and opened the front door, smiling at Edward standing on the front porch. “Fancy seeing you here,” she greeted, smile broadening, a light giggle echoing in her throat, resting against the door. She took a step back, giving Edward the room to enter the house. “It's Edward,” she called to her dad, vaguely hearing him ask who was at the door. She made a slightly disgruntled noise, closing her eyes through embarrassment when she heard the echoes of a laugh coming from her father as well. “There he goes again,” she mumbled, closing the door behind Edward, locking it quickly and then beckoning him into the living room, following him that way. She smirked when she noticed the bag. “Oh, so you do plan on staying then,” she commented. “I thought this was just my lucky day and you wanted to pay a flying visit.”

Edward smirked a little and ran his fingers through his hair 'Thanks for this Damienne...' The visions of pink already haunted his mind... Alice really had gone overboard. 'I seriously think Alice would have forced me to dress up in something pink if I had stayed...' He chuckled lightly as he stepped in listening as Damienne told her dad he was here... He shook his head slightly and scratched the back of his neck. It seemed that Mr Renton really was enjoying this as much as Carlisle was... He was still unsure how this was all going to work, perhaps meeting this Dorian would calm his fears, though he doubted that. He was so frightened of putting her in danger... But there was so much going on at the moment, he was being selfish... He needed someone there for him... and him alone.
He looked to his bag and smiled 'Thats only if its okay? I wouldnt want to intrude at all...' He smirked slightly hearing Jasons thoughts from upstairs, it seemed that Damienne hadnt been lying about all the teasing. 'I wasnt disturbing anything important was I?' He chuckled lightly as he placed the bag down, of course he didnt need the bag, she didnt know that though. He also didnt know how much about Vampires Jason knew... He didnt know if he knew about the whole not sleeping bit. He stood polietly looking around the place, he hadnt really taken much in on his last visit. He was too concentrated on getting Jason better for Damienne's sake 'Hows your dad then?' He wasnt sure how awkward this stay was going to be now...

Damienne smiled as Edward thanked her for letting him come over and save him from the potential pink and fluffy torture. “Hey, don't worry about it,” she began in reply. “Mi casa es su casa,” she added with a light chuckle. She considered Edward's next worked about Alice forcing him to dress up in something pink. “What like a dress?” she teased, smirking. She laughed lightly. “I don't think pink is your colour, to be honest,” she went on. She was certain blue was definitely Edward's colour, whether it was his favourite or not. The fact it was his favourite was just a lucky thing. She shook her head at her father's reaction. “He's NEVER going to let this die,” she commented, rolling her eyes. “Stay up there, you,” she called to her father again. “I'll get you a drink in a second,” she went on, turning to Edward and shaking her head again. “He's pampered more than it sounds, promise,” she explained with a smirk, hoping he didn't think she was just being passive with her dad and that she'd ignore him.
She nodded when he questioned his being there in relation to it being okay, not wanting to intrude and making sure he wasn't disturbing something important. “Of course it's okay. Sounds like your dad couldn't wait to get you out of your house,” she teased again with a smirk. “Like I said: mi casa es su casa,” she added, shrugging lightly. She burst out a short, sharp laugh. “No, you weren't disturbing anything important,” she replied, still chuckling slightly. She turned to him, gesturing for him to take a seat on the couch as he put his bag down. She smiled when he asked how her dad was. “He's fine. Oh, I'll just take him a drink,” she remembered, running into the kitchen. She filled up a jug and grabbed a clean glass. “I'll be...two seconds,” she insisted, running up the stairs and giving Edward chance to settle on the couch or something. She came jogging back down the steps a few moments later, catching her toes on the mat in the front hall. She winced entering the living room again. “You want anything?” she asked, hovering in the doorway to the kitchen.

Damienne was so welcoming to him, it worried him slightly that this girl was so relaxed around a monster like him. Once again he found himself questioning his intentions. He was being selfish again, Damienne had nothing to gain out of this... But Edward was so captivated by her, she made him feel almost human. Well as human as he could feel... A smirk spread across his face as Damienne said she didnt think pink was his colour. 'Yes... I much prefer blue, I think that suits me better... Damienne knew so much about him already it seemed, with Jason knowing who he was he was even more cautious. The whole shapeshifter thing really worried him still, he was putting them all in danger... Though Damienne was just so facinating to him, and vica versa it seemed.
Edward found himself chuckling as Damienne told her dad to stay upstairs, he was still curious as to why Jason was so encouraging... 'Its okay... I'm sure you do pamper him when I'm not around' He didnt doubt that she would do anything for her father... He knew though that perhaps him being there was a source of amusement for Jason. It certainly amused Carlisle that he had chosen Damiennes house as a source of refuge from Alice's party rampage... Then again he didnt really have much of a choice, unless he decided to just hang out in the forest for the night... This was much more interesting, that was for sure...
'So when is your brother coming to visit?' He was sure that Jason had his reasons for saying he could come over... Carlisle seemed so keen on the idea too. Perhaps Carlisle thought he would relax a bit if he got her brothers approval, though Edward wasnt totally convinced on that one. 'I wouldnt like to think I was going to disturb any family plans or anything...' He was certain Dorian had already been given the low down on Edward and his family... He wasnt really 100% sure about meeting him, even if he was rather understanding for a dog...
Edward shook his head as she asked him if he wanted anything 'No thanks... I'm fine' Although he had started to realise that the burn in his throat was getting harder to ignore. He still hadnt fed, though he was sure he would be able to hunt soon. He would need to with Fae around the house, though Damiennes scent was a lot more tempting to him than Faes... He shook the thought from his head as he waved Damienne off to go take her father a drink. He still stood where he was, feeling a little awkward and unsure of how he should feel.

Damienne smiled pleasantly at Edward mentioned preferring blue and that it suited him better. “I couldn't agree more,” she replied with a smirk. It was strange how at ease she felt with Edward. She'd only known him a couple of days. Ah, well. She couldn't be more thankful of him though. She hadn't really had anyone take an interest in her in all of her time in Forks, let alone through her a fleeting glance. Now, she had made a friend in Edward, or so she thought, and Alice too. She was thankful for his company and his friendship and also for his quick thinking and affective actions in helping out her father. She spun to Edward as she heard him chuckle after her little interjection with her dad. “You have no idea,” she commented with a gentle smile now. She brushed a hand back through her hair as she considered what to do. She couldn't just stand around and talk to Edward all night. She chewed on her lip. She felt like she knew little pieces of who Edward was, but she couldn't imagine how she was going to keep him from boredom.
She wrapped her arms around herself, running her hands up and down her upper arms, nerves sending a chill over the surface of her skin. She refocused on Edward when he spoke again, asking about her brother. “Well, when he called, they were just sorting some things out to come down here and it's a...what...three hour drive tops?” she replied, finishing in a question to hope the conversation could carry on. She shook her head, pulling a slight face. “Don't be silly. This wasn't exactly planned. Nothing this evening really was, was it?” she questioned playfully. “Dorian wants to check on dad. He worries a lot and he can't just leave Rina and Lyc up in Seattle,” she continued to explain. “And you...you just needed saving from the pink and fluffy chaos I can imagine has taken over your house,” she played with a smirked. “You're not disturbing anything,” she added in a more serious tone to make it clear that she was being honest. She didn't want him to feel uncomfortable about being there.
“Besides, Dorian, somehow, really wants to meet you,” she went on, rolling her eyes and smirking. “I'll bet you anything that's dad's fault,” she added in a lower tone, knowing how Jason could hear like a bat sometimes. She smiled pleasantly at Edward when he said he didn't want anything, that he was fine. 'That you are,' she thought to herself, blushing slightly at the thought as she wandered off into the kitchen to fetch her dad's drink. She didn't spend very long upstairs, wishing to spend more time with Edward, despite not having any idea how to keep him entertained. She should have thought this out better. Then again, she hadn't really had much time between their conspiring fathers and feeling the need to change and tidy up. When she came back down stairs, he was still standing, looking a little lost. “Sit down already. You're making the place look untidy,” she played, using one of her father's favourite phrases. 'Not that you could make anywhere look untidy,' she thought, biting her tongue.
She gestured towards the couch for Edward, allowing him the full length of it and perching on the arm of her father's chair. She never sat in that chair. She normally lounged on the couch however she pleased, but she couldn't do that, considering her very apparent and incessant need to embarrass herself in the presence of the present company. She didn't mean to do it. It just happened a lot. She pulled her legs up to her chest where she was perching and resting her feet on the very front edge of the arm of the chair. She chewed on her lip, wrapping her arms around her legs and hooking her hands around her elbows. “Ummm, so, what do you wanna do?” she asked, feeling kind of like a little kid with the way she was sat and how clueless she felt as to keeping someone entertained. She'd never really done this before. “We could watch a DVD or something. I mean dad'll probably fall asleep again and, like I said, Dorian etcetera are gonna be a few hours maybe,” she suggested. She didn't watch TV much, so DVDs were her calling card really.

Edward chuckled a little as she agreed with him 'I'm glad you agree Miss Renton' He smirked as he remembered her thoughts from when he had no shirt on at all. He could still feel the tension between the two of them, though the tension from his side was swayed heavily by the fact that he was putting Damienne in more danger than if she was just a normal human girl. There was so much that drew him to her, her scent, her thoughts, her personality. Though the thought that part of him craved killing her and draining her for her blood really didnt help matters at all. 'Oh I am sure I have some idea..' His gazed moved to the stairs, he could hear Jasons thoughts just as clearly as Damiennes, thankfully that was one secret that Edward held that Jason did not know about yet. He could tell that Jasons thoughts of him and his family were genuine... He really did just want Damienne to be happy, even if that meant going against members of his own flesh and blood. He smirked a little to himself as she wondered how she was going to keep him entertained... Of course for a human a few hours seemed like a long time, Edward was used to filling in his hours with pointless tasks...
Edward could tell that Damienne wasnt relaxed in this situation... He could hardly blame her to be honest, though he knew her nerves were nothing to do with the fact she was in the same room as a blood sucking monster... Part of him wished that was the reason she was nervous... 'I hope you have enough room here... I really wouldnt want to get in the way...' Edward was nervous enough that he was going to have to pretend to Damienne that he actually slept... It was going to be harder to keep up the charade with her brother there. 'Its nice of your brother to come and check on him...' A large part of him knew that he was probably more interested in him. It was going to be a big deal, a vampire hanging around a human relative of a dog... Not really the best situation in the world, he knew this would stretch the treaty to the extreme. One wrong moves and him and his family would be in huge trouble... 'Yes... Alice tends to go way over the top with these kind of things. She doesnt often get the chance so she over compensates.' He was glad though that Alice had something to focus her energy on... Her thoughts had been lingering on her attack on Jasper over the past few days and he was hoping this would brighten her mood a little.
Edward held back a snarl and smiled instead... Of course he really wanted to meet him, he only hoped he was as understanding as Damienne had said... Or as understanding as Jason seemed to be. He couldnt deny he was curious, but still cautious, all of this could go very wrong, very quickly. 'Probably mine too' He muttered. He was sure Carlisle thought it would be a grand idea for Edward to meet the rest of her family. He watched her head to the kitchen and he smirked at her thought, her thoughts just amused him so much. Edward took in the room more as she saw to Jason, of course standing didnt bother him. He wasnt bothered by the minor aches that humans got from standing up for too long. Thats why he cursed to himself a little ahen she told him to sit down... A lapse in his act of being a human so it seemed, it seemed to be happening increasingly when he was around Damienne. 'You think I make the place look untidy? What are you trying to say about me?' He jested after hearing her thought, he was interested to see how she reacted to it, he really couldnt resist playing with her a little bit...
Edward moved to the couch and sat down on the end, watching as Damienne perched on the arm of the other chair. He tilted his head a little raising an eyebrow 'Do you think I bite?' He was certainly hoping she said no... Even though obviously Edwards bite was far worse than his bark. Edward lounged back, trying to look relaxed and comfortable... He wasnt really used to 'lounging' so he was hoping he didnt look awkward. 'A movie works for me, I dont mind what we do, as long as its not pink and fluffy' He chuckled slightly as he ran a hand through his hair. He swallowed trying to dim the burn in his throat, naturally it only made it worse. Damn Damienne for smelling so... tasty... 'I am sure that will fill in the gap before your brother gets here rather nicely... He was hoping it would distract him from doing something he would really regret... He shook the thought from his head again, he really needed to go hunting soon, he had a feeling it would make being around Damienne a lot easier than it was at the moment.

Damienne smiled broadly as Edward chuckled and then spoke. “Ah, yeah, you might be, but you're difficult to disagree with, Mr. Cullen,” she replied softly and playfully, smirking in Edward's direction. She laughed lightly at Edward's words. She was sure he could actually imagine. It wasn't that outlandish a situation. She pulled a slight face, waving her arms slightly. “Oh, we have plenty of room,” she replied quickly and insistently. “You're not going to get in the way. Stop worrying about it,” she added with a gentle smile. “I mean if worst comes to worst, there's not only the sofa bed here, there's one in my room,” she offered. “If Dorian wasn't coming down with his family, you'd have an entire bedroom to yourself. I think there's room,” she finished with a confident smirk. She shrugged when Edward said it was nice of Dorian to come and check on their dad. “It's what Dorian does. He could be half way across the world and I think he'd come back, just to see for himself that we're okay,” she replied with a very slight smile.
“Especially since mom...died,” she added softly, in a sort of after thought, chewing on her lip nervously, letting out a slow breath. She smirked, brightening up again when Edward spoke about Alice and how she tended to go over the top with things like parties. She tilted her head, slightly surprised when Edward said she didn't often get the chance to do anything like this, so she overcompensated. “Really?” she said, sounded a lot more surprised than she had intended. “I would have thought that she'd want them all the time. She seems kinda like the party and shopping type of person,” she went on. Alice did have that sort of bright personality that she would have associated with someone who spent their time organising parties or going shopping or something. She let out an slight, involuntary laugh as Edward muttered about his dad. Embarrassing as it was to have their fathers conferring over everything, it was kind of nice as well. It wasn't often her dad got to do this now everyone else was grown up and moved out.
She was the last of his children and, well, she'd never really had that much of an interest in anyone. This was, at least, giving her dad something social to do outside of work and with his work colleagues. It was clearly distracting him from the whole Tobias thing. She felt a furious blush reach her cheeks again when Edward questioned her comment about him making the place look untidy. “Okay, so not 'untidy' as such, that was kinda cruel. I'm sorry,” she replied quickly, almost stuttering over her words. She reached up, putting a hand over her eyes and laughing slightly. She was making a fool out of herself and Edward was trying to make that happen. She could see it. That or she was being very paranoid. She dropped her hand, letting out a sigh, an amused look on her face. 'Oh, I'm so going to get him back for that,' she thought to herself, smirking. She chewed on her lip when Edward questioned her, asking if she thought he bit. “I dunno. That's what I'm trying to work out,” she replied playfully, shuffling slightly where she was sat.
She laughed again when Edward replied to her question of what they should do, saying he didn't mind as long as it wasn't pink and fluffy. “I think that can be arrange,” she replied with a smirk. “My DVD collection isn't very 'pink and fluffy' anyway. I think I have maybe one or two films of that description, but you wouldn't really be able to notice them being mixed with my others...and my dad's, of course,” she explained, nodding over to the shelves from the floor to ceiling next to the archway into the room. She nodded, biting back a slight nervous laugh when Edward said he was certain it would fill the time. 'I'm kinda counting on it,' she thought to herself. She nodded to the shelf again. “You pick,” she said. “I think I've seen every single one of them and I couldn't care less what you choose,” she went on. “If it's on those shelves, it something I like,” she added with a smirk. “I'm just gonna fetch a soda,” she said softly, smiling at Edward and stretching out her legs to the floor to stand up and go back into the kitchen.
She shuffled around the kitchen, grabbing a tall glass and pulling her bottle of Sprite from the fridge. She filled the glass, returning to the bottle, picking up the glass and an apple from the fruit bowl and she made her way back to the room. “You sure you don't want anything?” she questioned before taking a bit from the apple in her hand. She shuffled to the couch, chewing on the piece of apple, placing her glass down in front of where she was planning on sitting. “Did you find anything?” she asked before taking another bite and moving to Edward's side. She looked to the very top of the shelves as best she could by just craning her head before standing on her tip toes. She dropped down again as her eyes flowed along each shelf, getting lower and lower. 'I will not chose,' she told herself. It was impolite and she didn't have any ideas as to watch to watch anyway. She turned on her heel, biting another chunk of apple and crossed to the side of the couch where Edward hadn't been sat before, sitting down and pulling her feet up, tucking them under herself.

The smirk on Edwards face widened a little 'Oh really? And why is that Miss Renton?' It was obvious Damienne was enjoying their little teasing game... Though naturally Edward had a destinct advantage, giving him that slight edge to know just how far to push... He raised his eyebrow a little as she mentioned there was always the sofa bed in her room. 'I dont think I would be much of a gentleman if I slept in the same room as you Miss Renton... I dont want your father getting the wrong idea after all...' He smirked a little, but he really doubted she would want him in the same room as her if she really knew the truth about him. He was still amazed that Jason had so much trust in him even though he knew what Edward really was. 'You are lucky to have family like that...' Though he knew that Carlisle and Esme would do anything for him... And they were not even related by blood, only by the fact that Carlisle 'saved' them both. He knew that Alice would most probably do anything for him, however he wasnt sure about Rosalie, Emmett and Jasper. They all had their reasons to look out for themselves, Carlisle and Esme just kept them flowing as best they could.
He had the strongest urge to hold Damienne close when she spoke about her mother dying, but Edward fought it. 'I dont even remember my mother' He muttered a little as he thought back to his rebirth... He knew she had died of the spanish Influenza, that her dying wish was for Carlisle to do everything within his power to save him. Mortal memories were fragile and faded with time, unlike his immortal memory which remembered everything. He looked up to Damienne and nodded slowly 'She is... But we dont really do the whole party thing often and most people think Alice is a little, well odd. Well infact most people thought they were all odd, but Alice more so... Especially in school, not having any human memories really didnt help matters for her. 'She doesnt really have any friends... Though of course she has you now...' He winked lightly to her and chuckled a little. He knew Alice had been exstatic when he had said he would bring her to the party.
Edward chuckled and nodded as he stood and moved over to the shelf containing the films Damienne actually liked. He imagined that Damienne would feel more at ease with him being there once her brother had arrived, though Edward knew for him it would be the opposite. He wasnt overly sure how this meeting was going to go. He let his fingers run over the DVD boxes looking at each one in turn. Naturally everything on the shelf he had seen at least once before, he had a lot of time on his hands in his long life. He doubted there was a film out there he had not seen, except some of the newer ones of course. He looked over to Damienne as she asked if he was sure he didnt want anything and shook his head 'Really I am fine' He knew that asking for a glass of Deer blood probably wouldnt go down all too well, though he was really starting to realise he had gotten some before coming. His eyes were dark and he was hungry, there was no denying that. Though he would have his chance to hunt whilst the Renton family slept.
He chuckled a little at her thought, tempted though he was to let her pick he had a good idea what he would get her to put on. His fingers hovered over the case for the 'Scorpian King' It wasnt a fantastic movie, but it wasnt pink, it wasnt lovey dovey and it had some action in it. He didnt want Damienne getting any ideas after all. 'How about this?' He smiled as he turned around passing the box to her. He chuckled when he saw where she had sat 'You decided I dont bite then?' He moved to the couch and sat on the opposite end to her, he felt a strange spark of electricity run across his skin when he was close to her. He had never felt that before, it made him curious though. Perhaps it was her tempting scent that caused it... It was like the tension was forming into an energy around them. He liked it, though he wasnt sure if Damienne felt the same tension in the air.

Damienne slid her hands onto her hips as she watched Edward. She smirked at Edward's question. “I think it's got something to do with that alluring charm of yours. I find I just...can't help myself,” she replied softly, still smirking, raising an eyebrow for a moment. It sounded slightly sarcastic, but she did mean it. There was something about him that made him incredibly difficult to argue with. 'I wonder if he's cute when he's angry...' she thought randomly to herself. She raised an eyebrow again when he said he didn't think he'd be much of a gentleman if he slept in the same room as her. She smirked slightly, fighting back the blush. She giggled before replying with a disbelieving sounding, “Yeah right.” She tilted her head considering his latter comment about her father getting the wrong idea. “I think he's already getting the wrong idea,” she offered, still smirking. She smiled softly when Edward said she was lucky to have the family that she did. “Yeah...” she said in a slightly dazed tone.
She knew she was lucky, but not with all of her family. “But your family sounds pretty close. Do yours argue over really stupid stuff like...I dunno...” she spoke, shrugging for effect. “The choice of location for a new home?” she finished in a question. She couldn't see the big deal. Her heart sank when she heard Edward's muttering about not even remembering his own mother. “Oh...I'm...I'm sorry,” she replied very softly, shifting uncomfortably where she was sat. She had known Carlisle and Esme weren't Edward's real parents, but she'd never paid any mind to what had happened to his biological parents. She chewed on the inside of her lip and swallowed, casting her eyes to the floor “That was insensitive,” she added in the same very low and soft tone. She kept focused on the floor as Edward spoke, about Alice this time. She felt a small smile grace her lips when he said how people thought Alice was a little odd. She was a little 'in your face' at first, but she was adorable after that.
It seemed strange that she didn't have any friends though. She scowled at the floor, but the expression dissolved when Edward said that now she had her. She smiled at his expression and his chuckle. It was a beautiful sound. “You both do,” she said softly. “If...if you want me,” she added, stammering over her words, looking at the floor again. Distracting herself with a trip to the kitchen was a good idea. She nodded, smiling as Edward said he was fine and didn't want anything. She smiled as she returned from the kitchen, watching Edward deliberating over the choice of film. 'Definitely not making the place look untidy,' she thought to herself with a smirk. She raised an eyebrow as Edward handed her 'Scorpion King'. She nodded slowly as she scanned the cover quickly. “Lots of half naked men fighting,” she said, nodding slowly, a hint of sarcasm in her voice. “There something you wanna tell me there, Edward?” she questioned, still sounding a little playful and sarcastic. 'I hope to God not....' she thought quickly to herself.
She smirked up at Edward at his question concerning her opinion on him biting. She watched him as he moved to sit back in the other space at the other end of the couch, still smirking. “The jury's still out on that one,” she replied playfully. “But I'm a big girl. I can handle it,” she said, trying to sound confident. Thank God she'd gone for the film option. There was no need for talking. There was something in the air that made her feel that she wouldn't be able to construct a proper sentence after a while. She stood quickly, moving to set up the DVD. She dropped the case on the table from where she was crouched between the coffee table and the TV unit. She grabbed the remotes, clicking on the TV as she stood, turning to move back to the couch. 'Thank God he went for the action flick,' she thought as she sat back down, curling her bare feet under herself like she had done before. Something told her the air would feel a lot more electrified than it already did and that would not have been good.
She let out a slow breath before setting the film playing, turning on the surround sound and then stretching forward to swap the remotes for her soda. “That loud enough?” she asked softly as the opening titles came on. The lamps on either side of the couch were on, just enough light to see by. When she had tidied up, she hadn't bothered with the main light. It seemed kind of redundant when she had sorted the room out. Now, it might have helped her feel less nervous. She gulped down some soda, then realised her glass was half empty. She couldn't just drink it all and keep having to go to the kitchen. That would be rude. She stretched forward to place the glass back on the table. She wished she'd not eaten her apple so fast now, but that could have been rude as well. Eating an apple would have made irritating noises in the quiet setting. She tried to keep her eyes focused on the TV screen, the sounds from the surround sound rumbling in her chest slightly. The last person to watch anything had been her on her own. She liked the bassy sounds.

Edwards features formed into a frown for a brief moment, his alluring charm... But was that his charm or the charm of a predator inviting in its prey? Most humans didnt go close enough to him to be effected by the vampire pheremones... Though he knew it had a similiar effect on unsuspecting humans as it was with Damienne. Part of him really wanted to believe this was more than that, though he really wasnt sure at all. 'Hmm' a smile spread across his face 'Now is that really so Miss Renton?' He chuckled lightly, he didnt really want to ruin the mood, and he was enjoying this interaction with Damienne. He tilted his head slightly hearing her though, he was very sure she didnt want to see him angry. He certainly wouldnt describe it as cute, more deadly and demon like, though he seriously hoped Damienne would never see that side of him. He shook his head and chuckled 'And you want to stoke that fire by inviting me into your room?' He was sure that no matter how much Jason 'trusted' him and his family, that his trust didnt extend to letting a monster lke him stay in the same room as her overnight.
Edward chuckled lightly at her question 'I have known in the past arguements over where we should settle ourselves... Carlisle is good at what he does and has been head hunted by hospitals before. Sometimes we dont all agree on the place he gets a job...' That was partially true at least, they had moved more times than Damienne could ever imagine and they had had their fair share of arguements. He shook his head as Damienne apologised for him not knowing his mother 'I know she loved me and that she wished for Carlisle to take care of me. I could not ask for better parents than Carlisle and Esme.' Carlisle had taken time to talk to him about when his mortal memories had still been fresh in his mind. It was a hard fate to face... Eternal life killing others to survive, but Carlisle had done it to forfil his mothers wishes, he had done the hardest thing he could ever do. For that he could not help but be greatful. 'You were not to know, but my mother died a very long time ago. Carlisle and Esme are my parents now, I have never really known any different, only what Carlisle has told me.' In his thoughts of his mother he cursed himself slightly, he knew Carlisle didnt look that much older than him, though he hoped that Damienne would just over look that minor detail.
Edward smiled as Damienne stumbled over her words, she was so genuine and sweet for a human girl, not in your face at all. 'Of course we do...' He was happy that Damienne was providing a ray of light in the dark time that seemed to be covering the Cullen family at the moment. He chuckled and shook his head slowly at her though and then laughed at her question about the half anked men. 'Certainly not Miss Renton... I picked it for you, after all, after the other day I thought you quite enjoyed half naked men...' He smirked playfully, or perhaps she just liked half naked him... 'Of course you could pick another if my choice isnt satisfactory enough... He really did enjoy teasing her a little too much...
He chuckled at her reaction about him asking if she thought he bit... She was right to reserve judgement on that one for now. Though he did notice she was certainly being more brave... This time actually sitting on the couch with him. 'Yes... Its fine' He smiled, even if it was a lot lower he would have been able to hear it, not that she would know that of course. He could hear Jason upstairs, softly snoring in his sleep... He had drifted off again, though he deserved his rest and Edward liked to think Damienne was safe whilst he was there with her... At least safe from Tobias, not from himself though. His gaze drifted over to her, she was so nervous, this really wasnt doing to help matters... He had seen this film before and he doubted very much this was going to keep him distracted... He folded his arms and tucked his hands under his arms, maybe this really wasnt such a great idea after all, the film really wasnt going to hold his attention for long, and he doubted it would hold hers either. Damienne lowered her eyes as Edward thought about what she had said. She smirked when he questioned it again. “It is,” she replied simply, still smirking as she lifted her eyes again to look at him. She laughed lightly at his question about her stoking the situation by inviting him into her room. “Well, don't say I didn't offer,” she replied playfully, smirk broadening. She tilted her head as she listened to him talk about the arguments they'd had because of the places Carlisle had been asked to work. “Oh, understandable,” she replied simply. She figured if it wasn't for the fact her dad wanted to move, the job would have brought him here sooner or later. There was only so much you could do in La Push. Then again, there was only so much you could do in Forks, but everything seemed less of a conspiracy or whatever here. She thought it was strange how they could go from playing around to something very serious, yet everything seemed sort of calm, if not a little tense as well, though that was kind of understandable too.
She smiled as Edward spoke again. “That's something at least,” she said softly. “They sound just perfect,” she added, lowering her eyes to the floor again. She couldn't help, but feel bad for saying something without thinking, despite Edward sounding like it wasn't a big thing because she wasn't to know. “At least you have them and you weren't left alone,” she said gently. She couldn't imagine what sort of life he would have had without Carlisle and Esme because it sounded like they did a lot for him. She smiled again when Edward responded to the friends thing. It was nice to know they both regarded her as that. She giggled at Edward's reply to her comment about half naked guys, though she felt the blush rise instantly to her cheeks at his words. “Well, thank you,” she replied, still giggling slightly. 'I enjoy one half naked man, thank you very much,' she thought to herself, glancing up at Edward again, blush remaining. She shook her head when he said she could always pick. “No, no, that's absolutely fine,” she replied, willing the damn embarrassed blush to go away.
She chewed on her lip as she watched the images flash and change around the screen, swallowing nervously. She risked a side glance at Edward as he crossed his arms. She shifted again where she was sat, not really moving anywhere, just shifting a little to make sure she didn't get pins and needles in her feet or something. If she wasn't sat on her feet, she'd probably look even more nervous with the shaking. She leaned over the arm rest, on one arm, the other arm laying in her lap. This was going to be a long film. She turned to Edward again, not lifting her head from where it rested on her arm. “You sure you don't want anything?” she asked, breaking the oddly comfortable, yet not at the same time, silence. She reached up with the hand from her lap to brush her hair back over her shoulders and rub the nape of her neck as she turned to watch the screen again. She should have picked something else to do, but if she'd spent the evening talking to Edward, she would have just become a stammering mess.

Edward sighed and shook his head smirking slightly 'If I didnt know better I would say you WANTED me to stay in your room tonight' Oh if only she knew how dangerous that would really be, his white teeth flashed slightly as he grinned. Even though he knew it was like waving a pork chop underneath a lions maw, he couldnt help but tease her... After all she was the one being so playful to him. It was a dangerous game that was for sure, but Edward just simply couldnt resist it. Damienne just seemed so easy to tease and play with... Her thoughts and comments just brought him no end of amusement. He nodded slowly 'We dont always fully agree on what we think is best for the family... Carlisle and esme have to put up with a lot with us' He sighed, him more so than the others at times, he knew Esme worried about him a lot, its part of the reason Carlisle loved teasing him about Damienne... He had been alone for so very long...
Edward smiled a little and shook his head 'Nothing is ever perfect Damienne...' There were always issues, they were vampires and their lives were far from perfect. Though Carlisle tried to make it as perfect as he could, there was always something that got in the way and put a spanner in the works. 'No... I wasnt...' Edward frowned and looked away from Damienne for a moment. He always wondered if Carlisle had made the right choice, he lived a cursed life now, he had no soul and would never find peace. He looked back to Damienne and smiled a little sadly 'Sorry... Bad memories...' He knew that Damienne might not ever know why he felt this way, he hoped she never had to face the years of torment he did, he wanted her to live a long and happy life... Naturally, and with her soul.
The grin returned as he heard her thought and saw/smelt the blood rush to her face in a blush. 'Hmm... Was it something I said? Or something I did?' He grinned and winked lightly. He knew he was a tease but he was sure she loved every moment of it. As they sat watching the film he could feel her tension, he looked up as she brushed her hair back and exposed her neck. He felt the burn in the back of his throat flare as he took in a sharp breath... Damn her for being so tempting! 'Yeah... I'm sure...' Except perhaps you blood... He shook the thought from his head again cursing himself as he dug his fingers into his skin. He wanted more than just her blood though, he just wanted her... He focused back on the movie, but his gaze kept moving back to her, meeting her eyes for a moment before looking away... This was a little awkward...

Damienne looked away from Edward for a moment, chewing on the inside of her lip as she listened to him speak. She considered his words for a very brief second before responding. “If I didn't know better, I would say you wanted me to want that,” she answered his initial 'thoughts' with a smirk, looking up at Edward. 'It would be more interesting if he did,' she thought, still smirking from before. She was getting braver. She could feel it. She just had to make herself be comfortable with him being around. Well, she was comfortable, oddly comfortable she'd wager, but she wasn't exactly the most eloquent and confident person when he was around. It had seemed like the best idea to turn his own words back on him. They were rather fitting the way she had used them. It probably sounded like she had nothing better to say, but it seemed the most effective way to get back at him, whilst she thought of something more appropriate. “But like I said, don't say I didn't offer,” she added, smirk broadening.
She smiled at Edward's words about his family not always fully agreeing. “I'm sure you guys come to more amicable agreements than us Rentons,” she offered with a light laugh. She considered his words about Carlisle and Esme. “They're parents. I'm sure they expect it,” she added softly with a gentle smile. “They love you, so...they deal with it,” she continued in the same soft tone, with the same gentle smile, eyes shifting in the direction of her father's room for a brief moment before refocusing on Edward. “I know. 'Perfect' would be easier,” she replied. She then laughed slightly at the idea, looking to the floor. “Well, perfection isn't easy...yet, if everything were perfect...” she stopped, letting out a short breath. “Everything would be easy...or would it?” she added, ending in a question, chewing her lip and looking back up at Edward. That was probably the smartest sounding, yet conceptually confusion thing she'd said in Edward's presence. She felt oddly proud of herself for it.
She smiled very slightly at Edward's response, but didn't say another word. He seemed kind of lost in his head. She shouldn't have said anything or, at least, she should have thought before she spoke. She found it so easy to just speak to Edward that thought didn't really come into it much. She didn't like that she'd brought this about, this reaction in Edward. He didn't always smile, granted, but this was just heart breaking. She bit down hard on the inside of her lip just before Edward looked back at her with a sad smile. “I...I'm sorry I brought it up...” she apologised, casting her eyes down yet again. If she wasn't embarrassing herself, she was spoiling the mood. What a great way to carry on the evening. She was so busy daydreaming that she nearly missed what Edward said. “Hmmm...what?” she questioned, scowling slightly as she looked back at Edward. The blush remained in her cheeks, feeling like it was burning hotter when he grinned and winked at her. She reached up, rubbing the back of her neck. “Maybe a bit of both,” she half mumbled in reply.
She smiled and nodded when Edward said he was sure that he didn't want anything. She turned to refocus on the television again. It was so difficult to not look at Edward, as if there was something that was going to change about him right in front of her eyes or something. He was oddly captivating. She lifted her head slightly, resting her cheek in her palm. The palms of her hands were slightly cold from holding the soda glass, perfect for chasing back the warm blush from her cheeks. She let out a long, slow breath, trying her best to hold her focus on the television. She bit down on the inside of her lip. This was so difficult to watch, considering the comments before. 'Yep, I stick to the original argument,' she thought to herself. 'The enjoyment factor of one half naked guy,' she continued, side glancing at Edward, trying to be very subtle and only doing it for a second. 'Even if I don't get to see that again,' she went on in her head, swallowing and running her top teeth over her bottom lip in order to stop herself from smiling.

Edward just shook his head and chuckled 'If we continue like this we are going to be argueing over that all night...' He folded his arms across his chest smirking 'Perhaps I should just say okay and let you win hmm?' It wouldnt matter much for him either way, he didnt sleep and it did mean he would get more time with Damienne away from her family, though at the same time it felt totally wrong. His eyebrow raised at her thought, so yes she defiantely wanted him to stay in her room that night... He certainly didnt know what she expected to happen that would be interesting... He would watch her sleep, true it would be easier than sneaking into her room. He liked listening and seeing peoples dreams and he was sure thatn Damiennes dreams would be very interesting for him.'Your a lot bolder and brave than I first thought Miss Renton' He smirked keeping his arms crossed, she was certainly coming out of her shell a little around him. Though he wondered how long for?
Thinking about it a house full of teenage vampires was probably a lot better than a house filled with hot headed shapeshifters. Edward nodded slowly 'I am guessing your probably right there... Carlisle at least manages to keep things calm...' With the help of Jasper at least, his power came in very handy. Even though he was struggling himself his powers were still helping to hold the Cullen family together, if only just... He smirked and chuckled, he knew Carlisle and Esme loved every one of them as if they were their own. Their family was such an odd one, even though Esme was younger than Edward he still respected her as a mother. 'I dont think Esme and Carlisle could ever think badly of any of us.' Edward had had first hand experience with that, he hadnt expected them to accept him back after his killing spree all those years ago. 'Imperfection makes the world a more interesting place...' The world was generally dull, especially when you had hundreds of years to notice it.
He shook his head again 'Really there is no need to be sorry... I have many demons that haunt me but I have learned to live with them...' Only just though, he thought. He still reguarded himself as a monster with no soul, though Carlisle insisted it wasnt true. Carlisle truely believed they all still had their souls and there was still a place for them after they finally died. Edward of course never believed it, he was cursed and damned... A grin spread across his thoughtful face 'Hmm, I have a tendancy to make you blush... It must be a skill of mine.' There was something so drawing about Damienne, she was down to earth, unlike the other girls in Forks. Perhaps it was because in a way, she was like him. Her family held a secret, one that could destroy their lives as they knew it. Edward knew it would only be a matter of time before Damienne would find out what he was. It was only a matter of time before he would lose her.
The television really wasnt working as planned. If anything it was making the situation work. Edward couldnt concentrate on it and he knew that Damienne couldnt either. Her reached out for one of the cusions on the sofa and hugged it to him gritting his teeth, he really didnt want to do anything stupid right now. A soft smile graced his lips as he heard her thought about seeing him half naked again... This girl really DID have a deathwish... In this awkward moment he could swear her scent was far stronger than it was before, he could feel the venom in his mouth and the burn in his throat. She was far too tempting for a vampire as hungry as him, even if Edward was very controlled. His gaze flickered away from the screen again and met hers. This time though he couldnt pull his gaze away, although he knew it wasnt possible he could have sworn the temperature in the room rose in that moment...
Edward wasnt fully sure what to do, think or say in this situation. He had never been in it before, he knew exactly the face Carlisle would be pulling if he saw how awkward Edward felt. He was fairly sure Jason would be pulling the same face too. The two of them must have looked so strange stuck at opposite ends of the couch, there was nothing about the scene that was comfortable at all. Though he wanted it to feel comfortable, he wasnt sure that what he was about to do was the right thing... He chewed slightly on his lip for a moment before placing the cusion to one side. He couldnt bare the awkwardness, any longer and Edward would be bouncing off the walls. He shuffled slightly closer to Damienne and smilied almost shyly as he stretched his arms over the back of the couch... He thought he must be going mad as he looked back to the screen...
