Character History: (This is in first person, I hope that's ok. If not, let me know)
I was born in Chicago, at the beginning of the last century to Edward and Elizabeth Cullen. My father was a well-to-do lawyer in the City and my mother was loving. My youth was rather unusual, and I grew as was to be expected. World War One came around with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and I finally knew what I wanted to do with my life. I longed to be a soldier, to be at the front lines and to fight for my country.
My mother was displeased with my goal. She told me so often. While I was excited when the draft lowered their age limit to eighteen, my mother was horrified. Neither of us had much time to spend thinking about it, as a month later influenza ripped through the country. My father was the first to be claimed by the virus and my mother followed soon after. Before you could pass, however, she requested that the doctor whose care we were in did whatever he could to save me.
That doctor, Carlisle Cullen, agreed and did what he could to save me. The only weapon he had left against death was to turn me into what he was. A vampire. He took me to his home that he shared with his wife and … well, to put it simply he bit me. The venom that spread throughout my body was slow and painful. It was the most gruesome things I ever experienced. Had I not been so ill, I think it would have been worse.
Days went by and the change occurred. Soon, I became one of them. They taught me well from the beginning. Showing me that it was possible to be a vampire without killing humans. Explaining that I must be careful how long I spent between hunts or the urge would become impossible to resist. Eventually I became accustomed to the added benefits of vampirism, along with the downfalls.
It was decided that I would pass for Carlisle and Esme's son, and so I was adopted into the Cullen family. At first things were good. I was elated by my immortality and the new talents that I had obtained. After a decade or so, I grew bored.
Feeling that I needed to press out on my own I left the Cullen's in a teenage rebellious way. Deciding that I was strong enough to control my own urges. Deciding that I would rid society of some of its evil. With my ability to read minds I tracked down many vicious and deranged people. People who had commit horrendous crimes and I saved the world from them.
I did this by drinking all their blood. By feeding off of their tortured bodies. At first I was pleased with myself for doing such good for society. I imagined my self a super-hero of sorts, saving the world from this unknown evil. It didn't take long, though, before I began to feel evil too. All the deaths that I had caused began to weigh upon me. One by one by one. Eventually the weight became too much.
When I could not stand it any more I returned home, to the Cullens, to my family. They were as kind and understanding as they had been when I was first changed. They helped me to overcome the urges, to go through a withdrawal of sorts. Never once did they make me feel guilty for what I had done. Instead they were there for me, making my redemption possible.
In 1936 we moved to a small town named Forks. Starting the same story over again. We were a large family, the children were of varying teenage years and we would be attending school. Not having been in town long we met the Quileute Indians who lived near by. It turned out that they had talents and gifts of their own. They hated us, and we them. In order to live in peace a treaty was written declaring that as long as we stayed off of their land and never bit a human being, there would not be a problem. The whole family didn't have an issue with any of those stipulations and as such we stayed, at least for a few years more.
Sixty-seven years later we returned to the same small town, hoping to find the semi-permanent peace we had discovered before.
Strengths
Weaknesses:
Personality: Edward is considered charming and polite by most. His manners are impeccable and it often leads people to the impression that he is a gentleman. He is classical and romantic. Often reminding mortals of something from the past, like snagging on a memory. He tends to draw attention toward himself even if he doesn't want it.
In social situations he tends to withdraw to his family, sticking by their side. He doesn't really look for friendship in the human world. He fears himself and what he can do. His immortality plagues him, as does the constant thirst he fights.
He has been known to be determined and stubborn. Edward knows what he wants and tends to try and get it, with everything he has. He can be described as over-protective and over-bearing, but that's mostly when it comes to his family and the secret that they hide from the rest of the world. On a normal day he thinks far too much and over analyzes many things. Classic cars and music are his passion, and he devotes many hours to each.

He stood by the window, the moon casting his shadow across the floor. A summer breeze fluttered in through the small opening between the sill and the sash, caressing the gossamer curtains, coaxing them into fluid movement. Bella slept soundly on the bed, her silken hair splayed across her pillows, begging to be touched. Many nights he had stood in this spot, or in others around her room, watching as she enjoyed something he had be unable to do for almost a century. There was something so calming about watching humans as they slept. The even, measured breathing. The soft rise and fall of their chests. The relaxed features that graced their faces.
Silently he crossed the space the separated them, wishing to be nearer to the human he knew he loved. She swore she returned his feelings, that she also love him, but with humans such things were fleeting. Edward knew that he would love Bella for all eternity, he worried that she would one day be done with him. Kneeling at her bedside, he slowly reached out a hand, his fingertips ghosting the skin of her cheek. Her flesh was so much warmer than his, soft and fragile. Bella's fragileness frightened him, he feared that one day it mixed with her head-strong adventurousness would rob him of her. Ice cold lips pressed against rosy skin as Edward left a loving kiss.
A hand reached up to snatch the book out of the air. Grinning deviously, Bella sat in her chair, staring at the man she had just thrown the novel at. Returning his wife's smile Edward removed the ear buds that were firmly in place, bringing himself to the present once again. “Am I ignoring you?” He purred, sitting up from the chase lounge he had reclined on. “I apologize.” He added, pushing himself up from the ridiculously comfortable furniture. Much slower than necessary he crossed the carpeted room, his feet failing to make any sound at all. Like in his memory his fingers brushed her face, taking a few escaping wisps of hair with them and tucking them safely behind an ear. “Forgive me?” He whispered against her perfect lips.
