As Serenity pulled off Ashen found himself finding something to grasp onto for fear of his life. He wondered whether this had been a good idea, fast driving + ice and snow didnt normally end well. He could feel his heart beating hard and fast in his chest. He chuckled nervously at her comment about already being a murderer... Hopefully she was joking, and they wouldnt crash. Then again her life was in just as much danger as his... Then again he didnt really want to join his brother just yet. He took in a deep breath trying to relax, she seemed to be in control, if a little crazy. Though trying to relax as the scenery flew past was easier said than done. 'Erm... Is this safe?' His voice faltered a little, he was pretty sure it wasnt...
He looked out the window as she spoke trying to ignore the speed, though that was impossible. The constant passing of the trees was almost hypnotising. He listend to her talk and nodded a little, he didnt think anyone would like moving around so much. He hoped he wouldnt come to that lifestyle, he didnt like the thought. He sighed a little thinking absentmindedly about her last comment, not really taking it in fully replying 'I guess it depends what your trying to hide' His voice was sad and almost distant as he thought about why he was there, to hide from the media and from the world. Forks was perfect, then again he imagined word would get around sooner or later. But for him it would be worse in a large city, more likely they would have heard his story. No he was much better of in a small place like Forks. He wondered how different life would have been if his sibling was still there, how different things would be. He would be back in LA, with his mom and dad in their large villa by the beach... Now look at him, he was living in a shack in the middle of nowhere.
Serenity's question snapped him back to the current world as he nodded and looked out, pointing to a small dirt track off the main road. 'Its just there... just a bit down that track...' He had no idea what she would think of his meager lodgings, after all with a car like this he expected she was loaded... Like his family was once. He watched as she pulled his mobile out of his bag... It was rather bold but for some reason he really didnt mind at all. 'Yeah, I saw that, was a bit shocked to see something like that here' He smiled, 'Thanks' He liked Serenity, having a friend around would make his stay a lot more welcome. The track lead to what could only be described as a small shack. It had certainly seen better days, but it was all he could afford. 'Thanks for the lift...' He felt his face reddening in shame at the pitiful excuse he had for a home, he bet she managed to buy a really nice place. He reached back for his bag, savouring the warm of the car for a few more seconds before reaching for the door handle.

Serenity positively beamed when she saw Ashen's house. "Oh, c'est trest mignon!" She said. "It is truly adorable! I wish my house had as much charm!" She tossed her still snow-covered hair over her shoulder as she looked to Ashen. "And the reason I ask if you knew of Zen Studios is because that is my place. I run classes downstairs and live in an apartment above. I was not sure how well word was getting around town about it!" She had gotten quite a lot of students within a short amount of time from opening, though the same students always returned without the addition of any new ones. It was slightly troubling.
Though nothing seemed as troubling as the look she saw on Ashen's face. She almost seemed to be pushing him away without even trying to. Once again, she remembered the hard way that vampires and humans were meant to be hunter and prey, not friends. And Ashen was proving this to her with every metaphorical step he took away from her. Her heart felt heavy as she watched him, wondering how long it would take her to forget about him - every other person she'd met in every other place had been easy to erase. Ashen, though...she wondered if he would ever be gone.
But it was obvious that Ashen was uncomfortable around her - he hadn't smiled since the first time he'd spoken to her that day. Was she making things worse that quicky? It was a hard blow to Serenity, to had gotten her hopes up high and now had to catch them as they crashed down around her. "But of course," She said to Ashen with a smile. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Ashen." She wondered how badly he wanted to get away from her. Judging by his body language, he couldn't hurry their departure along fast enough.

Ashen was sure Serenity was only trying to be polite about his house, after all it was little more than a shack. He was suprised to find out she was the owner of the studios, he liked the idea though, it was something he was familiar with. He looked round to her before he opened the door and smiled 'I think the pleasure was all mine' His cheeks were tinted pink as his eyes met hers for a second before looking away in shame. He really wasnt any good with this, he was too shy for his own good. 'Erm, would you like to come in for a drink or anything? I dont have much to offer...' Once he had gotten his first pay cheque from the cafe then maybe things might improve for him, until then he was running on fumes. 'Its okay if not.. I understand...' After all why would she want to?
He opened the door and stepped out into the cold, winter air. He shivered as it hit him, he had gotten so used to the heat in the car that it shocked him a little. Slinging his bag over his shoulder he walked around the car to his front door, fumbling in his pockets with his cold hands for the keys. Maybe when he got a bit of money he would ask his landlord if he could spruce the place up a bit... make it a bit more homely. He was sure he would be able to if he worked in the Cafe when ever he could. What he wouldnt give to have all the time in the world. His life was filled with either school or hard work. Then again he guessed thats how a normal life would be, well except most kids his age still lived at home, unlike him. (I apologise for the shortness :s)

Serenity hesitated. She was so torn between the two options that she was now confronted with: She could either go inside and spend more time with Ashen, like she wanted, or leave now, like she should. A micro battle raged in her conscience, each side struggling to win control over her. She knew that Ashen wanted her to come in. She wanted to come in. There was something about Ashen that was just so... tempting. How, Serenity wasn't quite sure. She just knew that some part of Ashen invited her to be around him. And now seeing how alone he really was in the world, that just made her want to stay by him all the more. Who was she to leave him alone when he obviously wanted company? She may now be a vampire, but she was first and foremost a witch at heart. That witchy part of her wouldn't simply abandon him.
Though she was now a vampire, and that part of her was just as strong as the witch. She couldn't be trusted around humans, she knew that. Especially alone with a human. She'd sworn off drinking the blood of humans directly the day she was turned, and now thanks to her connections to the Red Cross she had a constant supply of blood they wouldn't accept to keep her satiated, though still the aroma of hot, running blood was so tempting...
And so, no matter how much she longed to be around Ashen, the thought of possibly wanting his blood made her decide what to do instantaneously. The idea of hurting Ashen was simply unbearable to her, she would never forgive herself if she did. She couldn't stay - she couldn't risk that...
"Ashen, I am so very sorry, but I cannot." She said apologetically, her eyes and tone were so heavy with regret that it was obvious that she was telling the truth. "I have a dusk yoga class to prepare for, and dusk comes quite early here this time of year." She bit her lip, praying he wouldn't be put off by her answer when an idea popped into her mind. "Though tomorrow is the weekend. You do not have school on Saturdays in this country, oui? Perhaps we can...as you say...hang out?" In public, she wouldn't have a problem keeping in control. She didn't know what teens did on the weekend in this tiny town, but hopefully Ashen could fill in that blank. "You have my phone number, let me know."

Ashen watched as she seemed to consider his offer, though he wasnt suprised by her reply he found his heart sagging a little. 'Oh... No its okay... I understand' He smiled gently to her 'Sure... I can call you after work, it'll be in the afternoon if thats okay?' His fingers played with the straps on his bag as he spoke. He didnt know why he felt drawn to this girl, she was different to the other people at school. He waved and smiled as he opened the door to his poor excuse for a house. It wasnt much warmer inside than out. Moving over to the fire and throwing some logs on there setting down to light it.
He settled down, keeping his coat on. He hadnt really made any friends in school, he kicked himself, he must have really come across really desperate running after her like that. He reached into his bag and took out his mobile... The only numbers he had on there were his dads, sisters, works and now Serenity's. He sighed slightly, he felt so captivated in her presence, though he couldnt help but feel she was keeping something from him. He guess he would be able to larn more about her on Saturday, that was of course as long as she actually wanted to see him again. We can start up a thread for Sat if you like, just a warning though, I wont be around until next Friday now, on hols lol.
