Carlisle watched the little girl in his arms closely as the panic ebbed and flowed within her. She wasn't sure what to do with herself, that was obvious. He felt her trembling and tightened his grip on her slightly, trying to hug the fear away from the little girl. She was hungry. He could hear that. He would make sure she was fed when they got back, after her had gotten her to sleep first. He was very concerned about the state she was in, but he didn't have any food with him because, well, he personally didn't need it, so the only thing he could hope for was that she had a nap on the way home. He shook his head when she asked 'you won't let them take me away?' She still seemed slightly shocked by that or something, then again, he had just appeared out of no where for her. “Of course, I won't,” he said in a low whisper. “You don't have to. I'm here,” he said softly. He watched her small hands running over the fabric of his coat and he smile gently. She was adjusting to him very quickly. Then again, she was a child. They seemed to adjust better than any adult could.
He was thankful when her sobs died down after her wiped away her tears. That was encouraging. She might be able to sleep now. He had seen it a lot where children had cried and cried and cried and upon either calming down or, in some cases, not calming down in the slightest, they couldn't help, but fall asleep, regardless of where they were. He smiled when she questioned 'where do angels live?' “In a big house in the trees,” he said in a gentle voice. He nodded when she asked if they were 'going in that', referring, of course, to his car. He was a doctor and had a thing for collecting cars. He needed a hobby and he thought the expensive car fit the doctor life style. “Yes, yes, we are,” he replied, smiling as he opened th door. He was thankful she was going to give a nap a try as well. He could feel her getting slightly heavier and she became more of a sleeping weight than anything else. He lowered her into the back seat of the car, securing a seat belt around her as well as he could without making her uncomfortable and unable to sleep. He closed the door gently, getting into the driver's seat and driving at a leisurely pace in the direction of 'home.
