Alice was getting another headache coming on, damn was it getting worse??? She had tried everything, clearing her mind and relaxing didnt work. Her visions were getting random if she got any at all, sometimes she wouldnt see something until it was just about to happen and even then she only got flashes. She rubbed her temples lightly with the tips of her fingers and listened to who was still around the house.
She heard Edward downstairs, sulking as usual... But it seemed everyone else was out, except Carlisle. Alice stood and quietly headed to Carlisles office, she could hear him pacing, he was always thinking about something. Though if anyone could help her it would be him, she had headaches before, but that was normally when she had too many visions to contend with, or she was thinking too hard. Alice idnt like admitting there was something wrong with her at the best of times, but she could feel it getting worse and she wanted to know what was going on.
She stopped outside his door and heard Carlisles pacing stop, she bit her lip as she knew he knew she was there. Carlisle was her father, she never knew family before coming to live with him, she didnt need to be scared... All the same though she was, it wasnt normal for a vampire to get headaches and dizzy spells right??? She had been trying to keep her thoughts from Edward, she didnt want him worrying though she knew it had been irritating him like hell.
Finally she built up the courage to step forward and knock, though before her knuckles hit the wood the door opened and Carlisle was there smiling in his usual way. Alice couldnt help but smile back, Carlisle was the most amazing person, no one could ask for a better father. 'Hey Carlisle... Can I have a word?' She turned to look back as she heard Edwards movements downstairs stop for a moment. She continued chewing on her lip a little as she turned back to look at Carlisle, it wasnt that often Alice asked her family for advice, it wasnt often she was worried about something enough to talk about it either, but she really needed someone to help her... Perhaps she was actually finally going completely insane.

Taking a step back Carlisle opened the door wider, “You know you don't need to ask.” He replied, at the same time thinking keep to your own thoughts to the young man who was concentrating on the conversation upstairs. Edward's gift was special, if not irritating at times. It was difficult to have privacy around him, and although the members of the Cullen family had nothing to hide from one another it seemed as if Alice needed to speak with him alone. With no one listening in.
His eyebrows knit together in concern as he gestured for his daughter to sit. “Are you ok, Alice?” As close as they were she would often go to Edward or Jasper for council before him, and to Carlisle's knowledge neither of the other boys knew of anything either. [/blockquote]

Alice smiled nervously and stepped into Carlisles study. Her eyes looked over the paintings he had collected over the years. 'Thanks Carlisle...' She was feeling too many things at the same time, she was scared and nervous, but curious at the same time, worried more than anything. She continued to chew her lip as she sat down, though she was on the edge of the seat. She wondered if it was times like this that humans would cry?
She took in a deep breath and wondered what to say, everything sounded so god damn stupid. After a few moments of staring at her hands she gave up trying to think of a way of putting it and looked to Carlisle saying the first thing that came to mind. 'Carlisle... Is it possible for a Vampire to... well, to get ill?' She was shaking slightly, it sounded so stupid, after all she had never been ill before... Illness was a human things, but maybe Carlisle had experienced something before, at least she hoped so.
She went back to looking at her hands as another headache seared through her head. She frowned and touched her temples lightly with her fingers. She hoped Edward wasnt listening in, she felt stupid for asking this but she was so scared that something was really wrong with her... Surely Edward would understand that right? She couldnt even bring herself to look back up to Carlisle.

Carlisle's concern grew as Alice sat, and her mood seemed to be on edge. This was the child of his who never let anything get her upset, she simply handled the situation as was needed. At this moment, though, she seemed agitated, bordering on frightened. Pulling a seat closer to her Carlisle sat as well, his hands reaching out for hers.
The question that she asked worried him even more, if he hadn't been a doctor for as long as he had, he would not have been able to mask the alarm he felt. “As you know we don't function as humans do, and sickness does not plague us as it does beings of a more fragile state.” He paused, trying to figure out why she was asking this in such a serious manner. Something had to be wrong. “Just because our body cannot be harmed easily, and illness can not affect us, it does not mean that we cannot 'feel bad'.”
The doctor searched his daughter's face, looking for any clues that might let him know what was going on. “Are you not feeling well?” He asked, hoping she would share more. [/blockquote]

Alice reached out her hand to Carlisle as he reached out to her. She nodded and listened to what he had to say and she closed her eyes, she knew that was going to be the answer. Perhaps she was imagining it, but she was sure it was getting worse and worse, before it only happened whilst he was having visions but now her head was hurting more when she wasnt. She bit her lip, she didnt know if she wanted to admit what was happening to her. Alice had always been a little sensitive when it came to anything bad reguarding her gift. Her gift was her way of life and she didnt like thinking that it could go wrong.
When Carlisle asked her if she wasnt feeling well she opened her mouth a little to speak but closed it again. She didnt know why but she was finding it so hard to talk to him about it. She sighed slightly and shook her head a little 'I'm sure I'm just being silly...' She gave Carlisle an apologetic smile. Of course Alice didnt know what it was like to be ill, she didnt remember her life as a human, she was probably just over analysing everything... Wouldnt be the first time. 'Sorry Carlisle... You've got more important things to think about than me...' She knew in truth that Carlisle would disagree with that, she knew nothing was more important to Carlisle than his family. It didnt mean she wanted to keep bothering him with stupid questions she already knew the answer to.
Alice stood drawing her had away from Carlisle and turned to leave but hadnt moved more than a few paces when she stopped as a vision came to her, it had been her first since Jack and Angel had arrived and her face changed as pain shot through her head, the mixture of the pain and the vision she saw made her cry out as she fell to her knees. However the vision remained in her head as if it was stuck, Alice shook as she saw herself lying on the forest floor. Her eyes blank, unseeing... Dead. The pain throbbed in her head and she felt something wet run down her cheeks, the sudden smell of blood broke the vision and she gasped 'Oh god... Help me...'
Her hand reached up to her face to touch her wet cheek... Had she cried??? She looked to her hand to see blood and a new wave of panic swept over her. 'Carlisle...' Her voice shook, desperate and scared. Was she dying? Was it possible for that to even happen to a vampire? Suddenly she felt foolish, she needed help... She needed Carlisles help, but she only hoped he could.

Seeing Alice's reaction to his question, Carlisle became even more worried than he had before. He hoped desperately that Edward wasn't 'listening in' on their conversation. Edward would most likely be unable to handle anything being wrong with his favored sibling. That added to everything else that had happened recently could cause Edward to become an uncontrollable wild card, and Carlisle hoped against hope that wouldn't happen.
He rubbed his thumb over the back of Alice's hand in a comforting manner, hoping to make it easier for her to talk to him about whatever was wrong. A sad smile crossed his face when Alice began to speak, declaring that whatever she thought was silly. The next statement that she made caused Carlisle to pause openly. How could she even have such a misconception? Nothing in Carlisle's existence was more important that his children, and Alice had a special place in his heart. As her hand slipped from his, he rose as well, preparing to voice his objection
The look on his child's face made his body chill all over. He raced to her side as she fell, trying to soften the blow a little as she hit the ground His strong arms wrapped around her frame as she gasped for help. He could hear the sound of pacing pause before feet were furiously making their way up the stairs. So, Edward had been listening all along. “Shh, Alice, I'm here.” He comforted, rubbing his hand in circular motions on her back. That was when he noticed the blood shining wet on her face. It was different than human blood, and Carlisle wondered if it was merely blood she had recently consumed leaking from her, or if it were her own.
Concern was pouring from him in waves. This is why doctors were never allowed to help those they loved, it was far too distracting.

The door flew open as Edward entered the study, immediately finding his way to his knees at Alice's side. “God is beyond helping us.” He said bitterly as he looked as his sister in such a state. His eyes tore from the one woman he adored and he looked to Carlisle accusingly. “Help her!” He demanded, much like the petulant child he could be at times. Too much had happened, but nothing could happen to Alice. It anything were to, he would be lost. She was his dearest friend, his confidant, his partner in crime. Existence would be worthless without her there.
His fingers stroked through her hair as it fell around her face. Pulling a handkerchief from his pocket he tenderly wiped the blood from her face, his heart feeling as if it were shattering into millions of pieces.

“It's all right Alice.” Carlisle said, his voice sounding much more confidant than he felt. He had never heard of anything like this before, and it frightened him. Instead of letting his fear take hold, however, the part of him that was a doctor kicked in and took over. He'd need to give her a once over as best as he could and then if nothing else he could always contact the Denali in Alaska or the Volturi in Italy. The internet was such a convince, in times past he would have had to travel, but now all he needed to do was send an e-mail or two.
“Edward, please help your sister get to a chair.” Carlisle ordered, his voice soft but firm. He knew Edward would do anything for Alice, but Carlisle didn't want him to hesistate needlessly. “I'm going to get my bag from the car. I'll be right back.” There was no reason for Carlisle to have his medical equipment in the house. Vampires didn't have problems like humans did. In all the time he had been one, nothing had ever occurred. “I'll be right back. We'll figure this out.” He whispered to Alice before he stood, giving her a reassuring squeeze on her shoulder. Alice felt Carlisle holding her as her vision faded and she was thankful. She felt her body tremble as she leaned on him for support. She didnt understand what was going on and it really scared her. She closed her eyes and took a deep shakey breath, her head ached still, and she felt dizzy. 'I'm sorry Carlisle...' She didnt know what else to say, she only hoped that Edward hadnt seen the vision in her mind, it sent chills down her spine. She looked up and saw Edward she didnt know how to feel now.
'Edward please...' This wasnt Carlisles fault, it was her own, she didnt want him to fight. She loved her brother, and this was exactly what she wanted to avoid, she knew he had been having such a hard time, what with Jack and Zavier and Angel, she just didnt want him to worry. It looks like she failed majorly on that front. So much for keeping this quiet. She closed her eyes again leaning to Edward and nodding to Carlisle as he whispered to her.
It was like one big knightmare and she wanted it all to stop. She guessed she knew now that she wasnt just being paranoid. She was only thankful that Jasper wasnt around, she didnt need him worrying over her too. She let Edward wipe the blood from her face, as she felt the headache finally go, she let out a sigh of relief.

“Is this what you've been hiding from me?” Edward asked, his tone soft. For the past little while Alice would be thinking normally as usual and then she would somehow mask her thoughts from him. It was irrirtating, and he was unsure as to why she was hiding things from him. The last time he tried to force someone to tell him anything was Angel, and that didn't end well at all. Not wanting a huge argument like that to come between him and Alice he had relented and not asked her about it at all. Now he wish he had, maybe if she had said something earlier she wouldn't have gotten this bad.
He offered his body for support as he helped Alice stand and then helped her to the red leather chaise lounge that was nearby. He wished that Carlisle would hurry, while he too had gone to medical school, Edward was nowhere near as versed as Carlisle and Edward knew next to nothing about vampire disorders.

Carlisle ran down the stairs and too the garage, using his vampire speed to hurry him through the space. He threw the door on the Mercedes open so roughly that he almost tore it from the hinges. Wishing that Esme were there to calm him he grabbed his medical bag and rushed back up to his study. Placing the bag on his desk, Carlisle opened it, sorting through the implements inside, looking for something that would assist him to solve this mystery. Nothing in his bag would be of much help, however. Vampires didn't have vitals to check, and giving her any of the medicine in the bag wouldn't help her at all. Taking a pen light out of a pocket he approached where she sat.
“Look straight ahead.” He instructed, flashing the light in her eyes to see how her pupils reacted. The blood that still remained on her face disconcerted him as he worked. “Are you strong enough to tell me what's been going on?” He inquired, hoping Alice would be able to give him more information. She nodded to Edwards question, she hadnt wanted him to worry, she wasnt selfish by nature, unlike some of her other siblings. 'I'm sorry Edward... I didnt want this to happen...' Her legs still felt weak as Edward helped her to the chair, she was greatful for her brother being there, even though she felt pained from having hidden it from him. Edward meant the world to her, he and her were close and she felt like she had betrayed him. However she loved him and didnt want him to worry if there was nothing wrong... Though obviously now she knew there was something.
She followed Carlisles instructions as he examined her and she took a deep breath and wondered where to start. 'I... I dont know when it started, I sometimes get headaches when I have so many visions so I didnt really think much of it.' She was still shaken but she felt fine now, maybe a little weak from the experience. She chewed her lip for a moment before continuing 'Ever since I've been back my visions have been... strange, I thought it was my fault. They were short and I was getting headaches and feeling dizzy. But then I was seeing things after they had happened... Thats never happened before, like seeing Angel arrive home when we were driving back... She winced a little as she remembered that she hadnt told Edward that either...
'Then when I saw Edward running off I felt a pain run through my head... and I felt a little dizzy after... Oh god she hoped Edward wouldnt blame himself for that, its the last thing she needed right now. 'I... I was scared I didnt know what to do' She looked to her hands, she felt like she had betrayed the ones she loved. 'I'm sorry Carlisle... I didnt know what was happening, and I was scared, I should have told someone sooner' She shook slightly and looked up to Carlisle, her eyes were filled with sorrow and worry, she didnt know if Carlisle could help her, she didnt know if anyone could.

Edward shook his head, “You have nothing to be sorry for.” He said firmly as he helped her move. Her thoughts were open now and he could feel what she was going through. “You didn't betray me, I understand.” And he did. She was right, if he had known he would have been unbearable until the problem was solved. He would have likely tried to lock her in the house and not let her out again until she was well. That wasn't a solution, however, and he knew it.
The only solution was Carlisle making a diagnosis and finding out how to fix whatever was wrong with Alice. “When you're better, I'll get you back for it.” He teased, poking her in the shoulder softly before taking a seat next to her on the lounge.
Edward bristled when Alice brought up Angel, he and she had yet to actually talk. And as far as Edward was concerned, he was alright with that. He didn't want anything to do with her anyways. The frustration and anger that was welling in him melted away when Alice mentioned the pain his tantrum had brought to her. Furrowing his brow he ran his fingers through his hair in a nervous manner. As he flashed the light in her eyes Alice's pupils dilated as was to be expected. From what he could tell, which wasn't much, Alice seemed to be perfectly fine. “Dizziness, headaches..” He mumbled as he touched her temples lightly and checked where her glands would be. “Please Alice, stop apologizing. You have done nothing wrong, we're both just worried about you.” He stated, wishing that Esme was there. Her mothering could come in quite handy at that moment. “Do you experience nauseousness?” He asked as he stood, looking her over once more. He walked to his desk and flipped open his laptop, pulling up his g-mail. “When is the last time you ate?” He questioned. He had no idea what was going on and his first line of attack was to e-mail the Denali Coven in Alaska. He began his letter to Carmen as he waited for Alice to answer, setting the scene with the problem and the details that he knew.

Alice smiled to Edward, she had been so caught up in everything she had let it cloud her thoughts. She knew now that by worrying about not hurting anyone she had probably made things worse... But hearing that Edward understood made her feel better. 'When I'm better... I'll see it coming' She poked her tongue out lightly, though deep down she only hoped she would get better. She didnt know what was happening, this wasnt normal and she could tell, the way Carlisle acted indicated he had no idea what was going on.
For a moment she saw the image that she had seen in her vision and she qouckly put it from her mind, it scared the hell out of her and she leaned into Edward for comfort. Carlisle was wrong, she had done something wrong, she had lied to her family, she had hidden things from them, how could that not be wrong? They loved her and would never judge her, yet she had been so scared that they would. She shook her head to Carlisles question 'No... Just the pains in my head' She looked to Edward as he ran his fingers through his hair and guessed what he was thinking. 'Edward it wasnt your fault... It would have happened with any vision I saw...' She felt bad that Edward would probably blame himself, it wasnt anything that could have been avoided.
She watched Carlisle loading up his laptop and thought for a moment. 'I went hunting with Jasper a couple of days ago...' She didnt quiet understand what that had to do with what was happening... But she trusted that Carlisle knew what he was doing. She closed her eyes and thought reaching out for Edward *Edward please dont blame yourself for anything, its not your fault*. She rest her head on his shoulder, she felt drained and only dreaded how Jasper would react to all of this.
