It was Friday after school, and instead of going home, Maci was headed to get a good book. She had just finished Scarlet Moon by Debbie Viguie and had fallen in love with it. It was such a well written book, taking the story of Little Red Riding Hood and changing it just enough to make it for young adults. Smiling at the librarian as she placed the book on the counter, she turned towards the Young Adult section, looking for a certain book. Her next read would be East by Edith Pattou. It was a rendition of "East of the sun and West of the moon", a Norwegian fairytale. She found it almost immediately, and instead of going home to read, found a comfortable couch in a quiet corner to curl up and read.
She sat like that for a good while, reading the book slowly. It was from multiple people's point of view and so, she read slowly, making sure she got everything that the person telling was trying to tell. Immersed in the book she paid no attention to the world around her, just read on, like the simple girl she was.
