Erik sat in a corner booth of the cafe, sipping a glass of soda, as he watched the waitress go from table to table. She finally moved back towards his table, with a sweet smile. She batted her eye lashes and tried to flirt. Erik just smiled back, regretting the fact that he had come to another small town. It was like they had never seen a good looking gay guy before. A black one at that. Smiling back, he watched the girl approach.
"Do you want anything else?" She asked flirtatiously. Erik just smiled and shook his head. "No sweety. I'm perfectly fine with my soda." Erik replied, adding the gay guy voice to it. The girl tilted her head in confusion then walked away, looking back and then whispering to another waitress quickly.
Erik ignored them, leaning back and looking around the small cafe. It wasn't that interesting really. Old people, or young quiet people, eating a meal at a diner that they had been raised by. It was completely normal. Erik was just the new guy in town. Erik slumped his shoulders. He had just gotten done with a lecture about an hour before, waiting to start at Forks high school the next day, by then he would be completely settled. Fixing his shirt, that was tight and left no secrets to the on lookers, her took another sip of soda, wondering what yummy boys could be in this small town of Forks.

After having settled into his new place Ashen had decided to take a walk through town. It had been a long few days, the arguements with his dad had been less than fun and he felt bad leaving him behind with his sister. He knew though that it was something her was just going to have to do, the events in his past affected them all, but him more so. Yes his father had lost a son and his wife, but Ashen had lost half of himself and his mother. Without Tyler he had never felt fully whole. He hoped that here in Forks he would get away from the stares of the public that knew he was the Grey kid who was kidnapped when he was only six. Out of habit he avoided peoples stares as he walked down the street, did they know who he was? IHe shook his head a little, he was just being paranoid... They just stared because he was a stranger in town.
Feeling his stomach rumble slightly he felt relieved when he saw the Cafe, he could do with a good meal after all the hassle of moving. He pushed open the door and stepped in trying to once again avoid the gazes of the people around him. He headed up to an empty table in the corner and sat down dumping his rucksack on the floor next to him, settling in was going to be hard here but he was sure he would manage it somehow. He had a look at the small menu and smiled a little shyly to the waitress as she came over, he wasnt all that social. He tended to avoid it back home, conversation with others always used to end up being about Tyler and that annoyed him.
'Oh Hi... I'll have a coke and Burger and Fries.' The waitress smiled back to him and headed back to the counter, he let his eyes look up over the people there, the old men having their beers, the group of teenagers in the other corner... Then the man sitting by himself, much like him, taking in the surroundings. His eyes met Eriks for a brief second before he looked down to his hands. He wasnt staring to be rude, he was used to seeing gay guys around in LA... He didnt expect it so much in forks, but hey it wasnt for Ashen to judge.
Ashens phone started buzzing and he frowned taking it out and answering, he didnt want to, it was his dad and he really didnt need the hassle. Keeping his voice low he spoke 'Look dad I'm not coming back okay... I know your worried but I need to do this okay?' There was a pause as his dad tried pulling a guilt trip on him, telling him his sister needed him to be there and he didnt have the time to constantly be watching her. 'Look dad thats not my problem, Mel is fourteen now, she can look after herself, shes not a baby anymore, neither am I. Your just gonna have to live with it okay?' He hung up the phone and took a deep breath. He hadnt told his dad exactly where he was... He didnt need him turning up here and causing a scene. He smiled to the waitress and took a sip from his coke as she placed it infront of him 'Thanks'

Erik watched as a young man walked in and sat by himself. By the looks that the locals were giving him, he was new too. Hmm. Tilting his head to the side, he took a sip of his Coke and watched him from the corner of his eye. He looked over, then looked down, interesting. He seemed like a sweet guy, but just by the look of him, Erik knew, he wasn't gay. But still, he could admire the white boy, he was cute.
About to stand up and walk over to say hi, he stopped, hearing the buzz of the boys cell phone. Erik stopped and listened to the conversation, as he took another sip of Coke. The poor guy had left home. That sucked. Having to leave you family behind because they don't understand you. Click. Well there went that phone call. But still, this boy was interesting. Standing up with his Coke and bag in hand he went over and sat at this, Ashen's table. Smiling he held out a hand.
"Hello, my name's Erik. You are?" He couldn't just say his name, so he had to ask. "I just saw you sitting alone and figured you wouldn't mind some company, since it seems, we're both new to this here town."

Ashen looked up to Erik as he sat down opposite him, he was slightly shocked to say the least but he smiled shyly. He wasnt all that good at being social, but he wasnt rude or anything like that. Though the first thought that struck his mind was that maybe this guy recognised him... But he took a deep breath and shook that thought away and shook his hand. 'Hi... I'm Ash' He didnt give his full name, he was too scared someone might recognise it, it wasnt the most common of names. He took the glass in his hands using it as a distraction from his nerves. They seemed to be getting the better of him at the moment, his current situations werent really helping matters.
He let out a nervous laugh 'Is it really that obvious?' He bit his lip slightly, he didnt want to stand out in the crowd, he just wanted to melt into the background. Then again what was he to expect? Everyone in town knew everyone else it was so small. He was used to stares and people singling him out but the reason for him moving was so that didnt happen. He looked into Eriks eyes again and was shocked by their strange colour, maybe they were contacts though? He certainly seemed like the kind of guy who would do that sort of thing.
'Your new too? Didnt think Forks was the kind of place that people really moved to' He laughed a little, it was true, there was nothing to do there. He was hoping it was a freak occurance that there were a few new people in town. He really didnt need any more drama in his life. His eyes glanced around at the other people shooting them glances, oh boy so much for not pulling attention to himself... He took a sip of his coke and bit his lip slightly.

Erik laughed. "It is only a little obvious." He said with a smile. Erik sat and watched the young man across from him. Hmm, Ashen. That's a nice name, as nice as his eyes. They were quite nice, an odd color, that looked good. The unnatural brown of them was quite pretty. Blinking and looking around him, he laughed softly at what Ashen said next.
"It is only a little obvious. I'm only new here, because it was either here, or Whidbey Island to live on, and I liked this town better, because I can teach and Port Angeles and Seattle, living a nice distance from both. I don't like big cities much, the only one I've lived in for a good amount of time is New Orleans so..." Erik smiled. That had been a long time again, and since then, he had only lived in big cities for a short period. "So, why did you move to Forks?"
Erik took a sip of his Coke and watched the waitresses and other folk around the room. They all were busy with their short, busy little lives and he seemed so detached from them. He hadn't actually felt apart of a society in a long time, but since he was passing as a student in small Forks, he had to back track on what he had just said. "You see, I'm a senior and I teach Swahili and Zulu society at the colleges in Port Angeles and Seattle. It was something I volunteered to do since I grew up in Africa, moved back and forth between the two different societies." Well that was almost truth, but hell, it was a good lie.

Ash laughed a little as he said it was obvious, but it was shy and reserved. He listened to Erik as he explained what brought him to Forks, Ashen was used to big cities, he liked them but they always dragged his past into the open. He took a breath and sighed a little thinking what to say as to why he was there. He wasnt a very good liar, he didnt like lying but sometimes it was the only way to protect himself. 'Just needed to make a fresh start you know? I thought somewhere like Forks would be an easy place to start.' It was the truth, plus it didnt reveal too much about himself.
So he teached? Wow, Ashen didnt have any real skills, except for his painting skills perhaps but that was an emotional outlet more than anything. 'Wow, thats pretty impressive... I've never been out of the US' He smirked a little thinking how sad that sounded, people his age seemed all for travelling around, he never had the drive to want to go too far. Though thinking about it perhaps it would have been a good idea to get away from his past. Still he couldnt bring himself to move too far from his family.
Ashen smiled to the waitress as she brought over his food 'Thanks' He gave her a smile and reached for the ketchup for his chips. He was wondering if moving to a small town had been a good idea, but he had just settled so he wasnt about to change his mind now. 'So You enjoying being in Forks?' He never knew, he might end up falling in love with the place.

Erik just laughed softly. Ash had come to Forks for the same reason as he did himself, although probably not the same background, no definitely not the same background. He just smiled at Ash. He seemed like a good kid, and would be a fun guy to hang around.
"Yeah I know what you mean." He said smiling. This boy was cute. The fact that he seemed so innocent was intriging and Erik just couldn't resist. "Yes, my parents came from Africa, so I went there just a couple of years ago, and learned all I could about my history. It was a lot of fun." Lots of cute boys too, Erik thought with a smile. The only sad thing about the world today was that there weren't enough gay men. Most men always chased after females, and to him, that was just weird.
Erik turned back to Ash, listening to his question. "Forks is okay. It's small, and new things really surprise them." Erik said as he looked around the small cafe. "Yes, new things really do surprise them." He said softly under his breath. Turning to Ashen with a smile he asked, "Are you liking Forks much?"

Ashen started tucking into his food and listening to Erik, god he hadnt realised how hungry he had been. It was good to get some food in him. 'Must be nice to have an interesting family history...' Ashen's history was far too dramatic and un interesting... It was something he would rather forget than look back into.
Ashen chuckled slightly between mouthfuls 'It seems an okay place, its different to what I'm used to...' He smirked slightly 'But thats not a bad thing.' He had picked Forks for a reason, somewhere he could lie low, somewhere his dad wouldnt come looking for him. 'How long you been here?' ((sorry its like mega lame ))

Erik laughed softly with Ash. His family history wasn't all that great. It was interesting yes, but it wasn't the best thing in the world. "It''s interesting yes, but its not the best and most entertaining thing." He couldn't help but laugh.
I've only been here about 3 weeks." He shrugged. It wasn't all that cool. Yeah, he had been in Forks for a couple of weeks and it hadn't been all that interesting. He had just been setting up house, and getting settled. "How long have you been in Forks?" He asked, suddenly curious.

Ash smiled gently, his story was like some bad Hollywood drama. He was sure that even this stranger would have heard his story if he mentioned it. He was sure the whole world knew his story, having to hide his life was harder than he thought. 'Well I guess that depends on what you find entertaining' Nowadays people found the strangest things entertaining.
'I've only been here a few days, just sorted out a place to stay and stuff' He was greatful for the break from his own life. Forks was providing a good hiding spot for him to relax. He looked up into Eriks eyes and was caught for a moment by those golden eyes... They were so unusual. Though after a moment his eyes looked back down to his food as a blush spread across his cheeks.

"Hmm...A wondering soul." Erik said with a smile. This young man was interesting. He was quiet, and just wanted to be alone it seemed. All he could do was smile. Looking around him and watching the people around him for a moment, he was brought into the idea of how small and quaint this town was. Everyone knew each other, and it seemed newcomers were a commodity.
Turning back to Ash, he smiled. "So my boy. Are you going to be attending Forks?" He asked, leaning gently back into his chair. "I'm a little nervous about starting in this new school. The fact that I'm going to be new, is a little nerve racking."
