After Class Zavier told Bella he would meet her in the Canteen, he needed to change his contacts before they disolved, however he knew that Edward wouldnt be far behind him either. He move as quickly as possible without drawing attention and slipped into the boys bathroom locking himself into a cubicle and pulling out a pack of new contacts to change them. He heard the door open as he slipped them in and tensed as he smelt Edwards scent. He cursed in his head, he really didnt need this now, he knew he was going to be asking all kinds of questions.
After a moment he unlocked the door and stepped out, he saw Edward leaning against the exit door and Zavier nodded to him politely. He knew very little about the cullens, only that they were veggies as they liked to call it and considered this their territory. He didnt really want a confrontation, but he had the feeling that Edward wasnt going to be too happy about him being around.

Edward had sat in class, watching the boy and the girl the whole period. He became more and more frustrated by the thoughts he pulled from he boy's head and the fact that he couldn't pull any from the girl's. The two new students were the biggest mystery he had ever found in the boring little town of Forks. Deciding to see what he could learn, Edward waited until the bell rung and followed the other young man into the bathrooms. Being alone in the small room with him Edward determined that the boy was also a vampire. Both from the smell of him along with the lack of a heartbeat. Even shape shifters still had blood pulsing through their veins.
His face was stoic as he watched the other vampire exit the stall. His vision taking in all of him, his mind reading the thoughts as they were processed. Edward could tell that the other male was not looking forward to what was going to follow. Locking eyes with him, Edward spoke, his voice dangerously low. “I don't believe that we've met.” He wished at that moment that his family was there. Emmet was the brawn of the group, and Jasper's gift always came in handy. Several hours ago Edward thought that it would be nice to have the house all to himself, but faced with a new unknown vampire in Forks he wished that his family was there with him as well.

Zavier took in a deep breath he didnt want this to turn into a fight, he could feel how tense the air was though. Damn he would be able to cut it with a knife, it was obvious that Edward didnt like the fact there was a vampire in town. 'I believe not... Though I can only assume you are Edward Cullen?' He reached out a hand to shake in greeting, though he didnt really expect Edward was in the mood to play all pally. 'The names Zavier... Zavier Theroux' No matter how many years he had called himself that it always felt strange, but Zavier was so much better than his boring real name anyway.
He watched Edward carefully, he knew Edward wasnt here to be friends. It was a shame, because he was new and all, he needed all the friends he could get. 'Hey I dont want any trouble you know... I'm not here to spoil your life in anyway.' Geez this guy really needed to take a chill pill. If he was really that much of a threat he wouldnt exactly be in school trying to pull off as a student.

“I am.” He answered, not moving so much as a muscle as he stared at Zavier. When the other vamp offered his hand, Edward only continued to stare at it, a sneer of disgust spreading across his face. While Edward was unsure why Xavier was there or what side of the fence he was on, he wasn't going to attempt to make any friendships. Hell, he didn't even feel the need to be polite.
“Zaveir Theroux.” Edward rolled the name around on his tongue, getting a feel for it. Trying to see if it rang any bells as he pushed himself up off the door and crossed the bathroom, leaving only a hairsbreadth between himself and Zavier. “You might not want any trouble, but depending on you, you might have found it.” Edward threatened. “Why are you here?” He demanded, trying quickly to read his thoughts to find if there was anything that marked him as a carnivore.

Zavier didnt think he was going to shake but he could live with it, he shrugged it off he wasnt exactly expecting there to be a welcome to Forks party from the Cullens. It wasnt like he was going to kill everyone in the school or anything. He considered for a moment though, he didnt actually know that much about the Cullens, for all he knew they might kill vampires like him, but then again that would be pretty hypocritical. He didnt relax at all around Edward, he wasnt about to make a scene in school, but he wasnt about to let Edward get the upper hand on him if he did decided to attack.
He stood still as Edward came close to him, geez this vampire seemed to be paranoid... 'I needed a change from work and thought it would be nice to settle down somewhere where I wasnt famous as a psychiatrist and go back to school.' God the life of helping humans get over their stupid problems got you down after a while, though it made him think of Sylvia and that really hurt... He had never meant to dissapoint her, but they just had such different views.
He took a step back, he really didnt like the way Edward was reacting to him. He hadnt really kept company with Vampires after he parted ways with Sylvia, he didnt think it was worth the trouble. He had missed it though, though Edwards Welcome was starting to make him think the solitary life was a good one...

Edward's stance was defensive, if he had been of the Quileute persuasion the hair on the back of his neck would have been standing up. His vision traced the lines of Zavier's contacts, looking for a glimpse of the boy's true eye color. Edward thought he had seen a small speck of red, but he couldn't be sure. Suddenly Zavier's thoughts shifted as he spoke from focusing on the confrontation at hand to memories which brought pain, loss, regret and one name, Sylvia. It was enough to distract him for the moment, and he stepped back, giving more space between them.
He too had preferred the blood of humans once. He thought in silence and decided that he shouldn't risk starting anything until his family was back home. “Your kind aren't welcome here.” Edward growled at last, taking a stab at the fact that Zavier preferred the blood of humans. If he was wrong, it was likely that Zavier would correct him. “This is Cullen territory, and we have rules.”
The main door to the bathroom swung open and Edward glared at the intruder, causing the freshman to smile sheepishly before exiting quickly. “If you don't follow them.” Edward continued, his attention turning once more to Zavier, “we'll have to insist that you leave.”

Zavier didnt like this at all, it certainly wasnt how he expected things to be. He wasnt the best of boys sometimes, but he had some morals for gods sake. He remembered when he had a client sent to him, seriously screwed up in the head, thought that girls were his toys. God it made him feel sick, he knew he sometimes abused his powers, but Sylvia had taught him the kindness that he could bring. He didnt feel upset at all drinking from him, he was beyond even his help, his gift wouldnt have helped him see girls any differently for very long. So what if he drank from humans, its not like he was going to lure school girls into the woods with him or anything.
He felt a growl escape his throat as Edward told him he wasnt welcome. 'Name your rules then, I never said I was here to cause trouble.' He couldnt imagine their rules would be hard to stick to, unless they insisted he ate like them... That was wrong, not even he would agree to that. If they wanted him to eat somewhere else he would to get them off his back. Damn all he wanted was a little fun, to go back to school, meet new people... School looked like so much fun these days.
'Look I know you probably dont believe me, or trust me, the last thing I want to do is piss you and your family off okay? I just needed a change!' He had a feeling that he and Edward werent going to be all buddy buddy, that didnt bother him, but he wouldnt mind feeling like he wasnt about to rip his throat out either. He had already heard how the Cullens werent the sociable type, but he was. He liked getting to know people, he wasnt a new born, he could handle his desire for blood... But he wondered if perhaps there was another issue here... One that wasnt just about his feeding habits.

A vision of Zavier enjoying draining a human of their life's blood rushed into Edward's mind, confirming what he thought. Zavier did prefer human blood to any other. Edward wondered how old he was, if he was strong enough to fight the lust that could overtake others. Even he was forced to vacate the school at times, like last year when Mrs. Anderson (the chem teacher) sliced her hand open on a broken beaker. Jasper wouldn't have been able to handle that incident and he'd been a veggie for years.
“No feeding in town.” Edward said, starting to lay out the rules. “Try to stay out of Port Angeles as well.” He didn't feel comfortable with the next words that came out of his mouth, “Seattle or as far as Canada would be the best bet to keep all of us free of suspicion.” Edward disliked the fact that he was suggesting where this feral being could go and murder people. However, it was better for Zavier to hunt far out of town, than anywhere near to it.
“No matter what, don't enter the reservation. Our kind,” he emphasized these words, letting Zavier know that this rule was not his own, “are not allowed to set foot on that soil.” The middle Cullen sibling relaxed somewhat, “If you can agree to that, you are welcome to stay.” Edward didn't look entirely sincere as he said it, but he did mean it, at least sort of. He extended his hand, in order to shake on the hastily made deal, as he waited to see if Zavier would agree he asked one question, “Who's Sylvia?” [/size]

Zavier listened and nodded slowly, Seattle was perfect anyway... Through the years he had learned a thing or two of how to survive when food was less accessable. He wondered lightly if Edward knew that you could gain blood from a human and still let them live? If you were patient of course, but he had had over 300 years of practice. Of course collecting blood that way could be pain stakingly slow, but it left victims with their lives, and with his gift they didnt feel threatened at all by him. It looked like this was going to be a good time to bring this practice back, Seattle wasnt the closest of places, and it was good to keep a pack of blood close in an emergency.
'Thats fine' He reached out to shake his hand and as their skin connected Zavier pushed through the emotion of trust with his gift. He was trustworthy, but he wanted Edward to be assured of the fact. He broke the shake and pulled back as he asked his question. His eyes looked to Edward fiercly as he mentioned Sylvias name... His Angel, the one he had loved, his mother of the night. He felt a growl rising in his throat but he swallowed it, it wasnt going to help matters. 'How do you know about her?' His tone was harsh, Sylvia was his, she was everything, his past and even though she wasnt there anymore, his present. He would have died in the Black Death if it wasnt for her, he owed her everything.
Zavier was suspisious, did he have a gift like him? Could he see things about him that were hidden? He didnt know, but he wanted an answer.

Zavier’s skin was ice cold, much like Edward’s own. The shake was strong, and at once, Edward felt if he could trust what this other vampire was saying. The agreement was done and the pact made. Nodding as he received his hand back Edward made to turn and leave the bathroom. Zavier’s eyes flashed as he asked where Edward had gained the knowledge of Sylvia.
Smiling almost mockingly Edward tapped the side of his skull. “I have a talent for knowing things.” He purred. Edward wanted Zavier to know that he could read minds, even though he trusted him, Edward planned on keeping tabs on the new arrival to Forks. “It’s a good thing she saved you. Just make sure you don’t make her actions pointless.” It was a thinly veiled threat, suspicion was just a part of who Edward was.
He turned on his heel then and walked out of the bathroom into the hallway that was attached to it.

Zavier stopped himself from scowling, so he did have a gift, that was worrying. At least though now he knew, he had a feeling that Edward would be making a point on keeping tabs on him. He didnt like the fact that he could see his thoughts, okay he was a vampire, but he liked having private time too. He watched as Edward turned and left, looking into the mirror her sighed and sorted his hair before exiting as well.
He walked towards the Canteen, it would be nice to hang with someone who he didnt feel threatened by, anyway he was sure Bella had been waiting long enough for him.
