Zarah was looking... well, not that good. Her clothes had holes in them, and were slightly stained from mud and grass. She wore a pair of sunglasses, though there was no sun out, so that no one saw her red eyes.
She walked down the road, and found a nice enough looking store. From it, she bought a small bag to keep her things in, a pair of jeans, a skirt, a tee-shirt, a jacket, and a purple scarf. She left to go to an ATM to get more money.
Zarah changed in a nearby store's bathroom, throwing away her old clothes, and began to wonder what she'd do tonight. She wasn't thirsty, so she wouldn't hunt, but she wasn't going to get a hotel room and pretend to sleep.
Zarah continued walking down the street, in the skirt, tee-shirt, and scarf, her look completed by the stupid sunglasses. Zarah looked for a store to buy contacts out, so she wouldn't have to wear the glasses.

Zavier had been in Seattle all weekend, he wasn't all that bothered about school that day, skipping out was sometimes the best option, plus it wasnt like he would miss anything. The weekend had been a troublesome one and in all honesty he couldn't deal with being anywhere close to Edward Cullen. He would rather live to see another day in his dreary vampiric life. He had hit the town hard over the weekend, unwinding and enjoying City life again for a bit. No one had recognised him which was a huge bonus, for the first time in a while he actually had FUN.
He had brought a huge supply of his contacts, which was a blessing, his hazel eyes were less intimidating that his bright red ones... He didn't actually LIKE scaring people, it was just part of who he was. As he wandered through the various shops he detected something that made him pause and frown. The sickly sweet scent of another vampire... He didn't recognise it, so it wasn't any of the Cullen's he saw at school. He rolled his eyes and sighed, great all he needed was yet another vampire in town too...
He followed the scent curiously through a couple of shops before stopping and seeing Zarah. He didn't recognise her at all, and from the sunglasses he gathered that she was more like him than the Cullens... This could be bad, very bad. He already knew Edward was looking for any excuse to pin all his troubles on him, having another vampire in town could mean that if anything bad happened... He got the blame. He casually walked up and smiled to the girl 'Hi there... You look a little lost?' He extended his hand in greeting 'Names Zavier...' He only hoped she wasnt going to be hostile.

Zarah noticed from the street another vampire. "Hi there... You look a little lost? Names Zavier..." he had said. Zarah reached out her hand to his friendly outstretched one. She smiled.
"I'm Zarah. It's nice to see that there are others around here. I just got here, and in most of the cities there's nobody else," she informed Zavier.

Zavier smiled back as the unknown vampire reached her hand to his. Such a friendly gesture from his part was always more than it seemed. As he shook her hand he used his gift of passing emotions to push through an aura of friendship and trust. Knowing that this way she would be more likely to talk to him, it was a handy trick that he used on everyone he met. 'Nice to meet you Zarah. So the girl had only just arrived in town... He wondered exactly how long. He had known there had been a murder up near Forks, he wondered if this girl had anything to do with that...
He looked around making sure they didn't stand out too obviously, he gently reached out and started walking towards a quieter side street, guiding her to walk with him. He kept his voice low and spoke at such a speed he knew the humans around them wouldnt hear anything 'I must admit our Kind are rare in these parts... Tell me, what brings you to Seattle?' He knew if the Cullens got wind of a new vampire around there would be trouble, they were already on edge with him around... Then again perhaps she was here to stay in Seattle... That wouldnt cause any problems for him if that were the case.

Zarah walked off with Zavier to a less crowded street. No one was really looking at them at all here, but the occasional passerby would look at the two curiously.
"I must admit our Kind are rare in these parts... Tell me, what brings you to Seattle?" he had asked her. Her story wasn't too long if she shortened it up.
"I came from New York City, so I like to stay near the big cities. I have to move a lot, you'd understand, and so I stuck to America's biggest cities. I just got here from across the country," she smiled. She'd traveled all the way across the country following the big city lights.
"How long have you been here?" she asked Zavier out of curiosity. Perhaps he didn't live in Seattle, but around it... Zarah's brain had already trailed off onto a million possibilities before she stopped it to wait patiently for an answer.

As the stranger said she had travelled from New York he tensed a little, depending how long ago she was there, she might recognise him. Though he was thankful that due to his foresight the side of him known as a famous physciatrist looked very different to the apparent school boy before her. 'I lived in New York until not so long ago, but I needed a change of scene and so came here to Seattle.' Zarah certainly didn't need to know that he was infact staying in Forks, th less vampires in that area the easier it would be for him to not get into trouble with the Cullens.
He thought a moment for the best answer to her question 'A few weeks, so fairly new myself' He smiled and chuckled a little, it wasnt really all that true, he had been to Seattle before on business but not to live. The only reason he was in Seattle was to feed, since he was forbidden to feed near Forks. It was a pain but he was happy to comply if it kept the peace. 'I am sure there is plenty of food here for the two of us...' He hoped she wouldnt stray too far from Seattle. 'How long you planning to stay?'

Zarah nodded in response to Zavier's answers. He was from NYC too, that was cool... "How long you planning to stay?" he asked her.
"I'm not sure. If I like a city more, I'll stay longer. I really don't know how I feel about Seattle yet, because I've only been here for a little bit. I think the rain will be a plus; I like the daytime," she answered honestly. She did wonder how she'd like Seattle. Usually, she'd spend some time exploring the surrounding towns of cities too, and Zarah decided that she might do that here too, because she liked the forest.

Zavier nodded slowly as she responded, it was true that the Seattle weather was very suited to those of their kind. That is why, he guessed, that the Cullens had chosen Forks as their residence. The trees along with the near constant rain helped hide what they really were. Zavier looked around him nervously, he wondered whether he should approach Edward and tell him of the new arrival, or perhaps that was a very bad idea. Edward might think he was trying to create an army or some such stupid thought. 'Yeah its convienient certainly...
The girl seemed nice enough... Though Zavier was cautious, after all he knew people weren't always what they seemed. He was happy to at least know that she was there, it was better than not knowing under the current circumstances. He looked around them as a few people passed them by, Seattle was certainly big enough for people not to notice a few deaths, though if need be he would go further astray to hunt... He didnt want anyone getting any ideas, especially with the recent murder in Forks. He shuddered slightly at the thought, there was yet another vampire on the loose in Forks... And it wasnt him. 'Well its a nice enough city, I doubt I will stay here long...' I Forks maybe, but not here at least.

"Oh, okay," Zarah nodded. Even if he didn't stay, it had been a long time since Zarah had last seen another vampire... When was it last anyway?
Zarah wondered if Zavier was going to say anything. Well, it would be rude if he just walked away, but if he would ask a question, comment on something, or say goodbye. She decided that she didn't want her first vampire interaction in such a long time to be so short, so she added on.
"Well, do you like it here?" she asked nicely- best to pretend you are the angel you are not, than to be completely yourself. Not that Zarah was mean or hostile all the time, but she wasn't always the most kind to those she didn't like.

He chuckled a little as she asked if he liked it there, in truth he loved being in Forks. It was nice to get out of the lime light a little. 'Yeah its alright... Much like any city really. Theres not much to say really, pretty good night life... Plenty of food...' He smirked a little, that was certainly true, with any big City came sick twisted people. Though he knew that he was fairly fussy with his food, he wondered if this vampire before him was the same. 'The surrounding areas are amazing though, the forests... especially around the volcano.' He wondered how he had managed to live in the concrete jungle of New York for so long, surrounded by ugly buildings.
'If you like I can give you a little tour of the city?' It wasnt like he was in any rush to go anywhere... He didnt fancy heading back to school that day anyway. He was sure he could come up with a decent enough excuse for not being there. He knew it was strange for a vampire like him to be caring about such trivial human things... But after 300 years of life you needed things to occupy your existance. For him travelling and living as a human was entertaining to say the least. Especially with his diet.

"A volcano? I'll have to check that out. The forests seemed neat. I saw a lot on my way in," Zarah responded. Zavier offered to show her around the city. She knew that it was never too hard to navigate, but it would be nice to get a vampire's opinion on the best places to be, and she could get to know the city better.
"Sure, you can show me around. I don't know a lot about Seattle, so that'd be great," Zarah said smiling. She'd get a better view of the city if it wasn't scratched by the marks on her sunglasses. She went to take them off, but then dropped her hand sighing. She had no contacts, unless there were any buried in her old bag, and so Zarah would have to deal with the glasses. Just to mask her red eyes; they got so annoying sometimes.

Zavvy nodded and smirked to himself, the volcano was in the opposite direction to Forks, so that could only be a good thing 'Mount Rainier is South East of the city... Its surrounded by really nice woodland, I remember seeing it as I landed in the airport.' Nature was a wonderful thing, it was one of the first things he had checked out in the area. He knew why the Cullens loved it there, so much food for them... Good for him too, loads of food in Seattle for him, that was for sure.
He smirked a little as she went to take of her glasses. 'I have some spares if you like?' He normally made sure he had plenty of contacts on him when he was away from 'home', it had saved him several times. He started walking back towards the busier streets wondering where to take his new found 'friend'.

"Mount Rainier is South East of the city... Its surrounded by really nice woodland, I remember seeing it as I landed in the airport," Zavier said, until he noticed Zarah reaching to take off her glasses. "I have some spares if you like?" he then added.
Zarah smiled kindly. "Yes please. These are getting pretty annoying," she said tapping her sunglasses. "I really do hope I can get out to Mt. Rainier. That'd be different from the usual," she said as the two vampires walked down more crowded streets.

Zavier chuckled and handed her the lenses. Having lived amonst humans for a long time he knew the importance of not showing off his eye colour. Though sometimes people just thought his natural colour was the lenses. He very rarely risked just wearing sun glasses, he much prefered the reassurance of the contacts.
He brushed his hand through his hair as they walked towards the centre of the city. 'Yeah its nice out there, very different to the city. He watched her carefully, he didnt really like being around other vampires in a crowded area. He knew he could trust himself, but he hardly knew this girl at all. 'So...' He said softly and quietly 'Tell me a little about yourself...' He wanted to know more about the background of this girl, the more he knew about her, the better it would be.

Zarah smiled and put on the contact lenses Zavier offered. They were a shade of hazel, and she kept her sunglasses off and threw the stupid glasses in the bag. Zarah decided that she would have to buy new ones soon; ones that looked at least a little better than those.
"Yeah its nice out there, very different to the city. So... Tell me a little about yourself..." Zavier said to Zarah. Zarah thought of what she could tell him. There was plenty to be said of her life.
"Well, I was born in a smaller town that was close to New York City, but I don't remember much about that part of my life. I had two brothers," Zarah said smiling slightly at faded memories. She hardly remembered anything about her younger brothers, but she knew she had loved them while they annoyed her half to death. "I moved to the city when I graduated. I had a few friends, I guess. I don't remember a lot about them. I was turned a few months after my twentieth birthday."
Zarah no longer had to think hard to find faded memories, these ones were crystal clear, and came to her fast. She wished some wouldn't be so clear. "Someone got lonely," she said bitterly. She didn't mind being a vampire, but she did mind her creator. He was kind to her for the most part, but Zarah didn't like him very much at all. "I kinda just stayed inside most of the time during the day. It was nice when it rained, but then I liked the night a lot." Zarah still liked the night and the protection of the dark, but she loved the warmth of the sun and the crouds of the daytime just as much now.
