Alice stroked his arm reassuringly and smiled to him letting her head rest on his arm. 'You know Carlisle will get everything sorted as soon as he can...' She knew things could get trying for Jasper, so much happening at the same time with so many emotions flying around must be hard on him. She took his hand and gently started leading him back inside, she knew his gift for helping people feel calm would most probably help the situation.
She smiled to her family as she returned with Jasper, gently squeezing his hand reassuringly. She hoped that her presence with Jasper would help him keep strong around the others.

As he waited for the girl to shake his hand, Carlisle could feel the a simmer from the heat of Rose's glare on his back. He might not be able to see her making the face, but the whole energy in the room changed when his Rosalie got in one of her moods. At the current time, it seemed she was pretty far in.
Carlisle firmly shook the girl's hand. “It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Stevens.” he said, and meant it with all his being. She was a polite young vampire, who was obviously a little distracted by something. It was in his nature to be caring, and so, he did. As she stared at the floor below her feet, his brow furrowed slightly in concern. His children weren't ones to be so shy, and he was unaccustomed to it from another vampire. Whatever she had to say was obviously difficult for her.
As soon as the words fell from her lips, Carlisle understood her timidness. It seemed impossible, and he was sure that if she had said the same thing to Edward he would have dismissed it immediately. This world was a wild one, however, and anything was possible. A well sculpted eyebrow rose, “I see.”
From the corner of his vision, Carlisle saw his youngest son leave the room. His brow furrowed once more. If Jasper had to leave, then the girl's emotions must be very strong. Rose was at full tilt, but Jasper had lived with that for a long time, as he had with the rest of the Cullen clan. The young southerner had become accustomed to their outbursts and disagreements over time, and though Carlisle was sure he was still affected by them, they never became so bad that Jasper would have to seek escape.
Emmett returned then, without his other brother. Carlisle wondered briefly where Edward had gone off to. His oldest was never very good at dealing with things, and it was likely he had run off again. This would be a tense situation for anyone, but finding a long lost biological sibling after you've been a vampire for almost one hundred years... well, that would just be mind blowing. “It seems that is a possibility.” Carlisle responded calmly to Rosalie's question, shooting a warning glance at his fiery daughter after her whispered comment to her mate.
The doctor smiled in relief as his other two children returned. He was grateful to Alice that she had gone and retrieved her mate, saving him the worry that was building for his empath child. Still Carlisle knew that in order to solve anything he needed to speak with this girl, and it would probably be better to do so alone. “Don't you four have an appointment at school this afternoon?” He asked, knowing very well that they didn't. It was likely that they would pick up on the hint, and Alice would be one to take it. Rosalie on the other hand, might try to force her way into the conversation that was going to occur. Carlisle would be ready for that though, and was prepared to ask her to leave if she forced him to.
Taking a seat next to the unknown girl, Carlisle's eyes met hers and he smiled reassuringly. “As for you, I suggest that you start at the beginning. Try not to leave anything out.” Knowing everything he could would help Carlisle to discover if the young woman was telling the truth or not. And, if she was, it would help him to explain it to Edward so that he might accept this girl's words for fact.

Alice looked around for Edward and her postured sagged a little, she hated it when Edward did this, it upset her greatly. She ran a finger over her temple as another headache came to her, she was close to her brother, but he could act like a little kid. The thing that worried Alice was she had seen him come back and she hadnt seen his change in decision, she sighed lightly, she was starting to lose her touch, she was often so attuned to edward too.
Alice looked up to Carlisle as he mentioned an appointment and Alice got the hint and smiled nodding taking Jaspers hand 'I think Jasper needs to help me find my favourite hair clip too...' She lightly and gracefully skipped towards the door, she had been looking for her hair clip for a while but had no luck in finding it. She would have to buy another one if she didnt find it.
As she reached the door she turned around as if she was about to talk to Carlisle, but then stopped and smiled lightly before disappearing dragging Jasper along too. She only hoped that Rosalie wouldnt be the thorn in the side that she usually was.

Jasper followed alice without any question the girl's emotions were strong, he figured that if he got out of the room it wouldn't give him such a headache sometimes his ability could be a burden other times it was a blessing it just depended on who's emotions he felt. '' I'll buy you a new hair clip.'' He said with a small smile he was always buying her things but at the same time other then saying he loved her which she already knew he felt buying her things showed his appreciation for her, as long as he had his pixie by his side he was fine but when he was alone things seemed very stressful. Out of the blue Jasper picked alice up, swung her around then brought her back to the ground as he leaned down to kiss her considering they were out of the way of an audience.

'' The name on my birth certificate is Amanda May Masen, it was changed when I was adopted.'' Amanda said as she bit the corner of her lip not wanting to go into the gory story because she didn't know the full extent of it all she knew was that the family she lived with for six years wasn't her biological family, she hoped that what she said gave Carlisle atleast some insight into her story because it wasn't a lie at all she had a copy of her birth certificate mainly because the actual file had been out of her grasp. She could have easily ransacked the place in order to find it but considering the orphanage she'd stayed at had been condemned for the last several years there was no way her file would even still be there, she knew her birthdate because she'd been sixteen when she was turned but then her family just disappeared which didn't make any sense.

Rosalie looked over as Jasper and Alice reentered the semi-crowded room. As they entered, Rosalie thought of something. Why hadn't Edward returned? Emmett had gone to fetch him, and he came back, but not Edward. She figured things went fine, so why wasn't Edward back? Though he annoyed the crap out of her sometimes, she was curious as to why he was making a big deal out of this situation. Yes, it probably was shocking when a biological relative reappeared into your life after a century.
Rosalie watched as Carlisle shook Amanda's hand. It was natural that Carlisle was friendly with guests, of course, but Rosalie was defensive. Unable to read their emotions or mind, or see their future, she was oblivious to how they would act to the Cullen's in the future. She did have minor trust issues when it came to certain people, so she wasn't as open as Carlisle was to guests.
Rosalie didn't know anything about Edward's biological family, just the fact that his mother asked Carlisle on her death bed to save Edward no matter what it took, even if it meant damning him to the vampire life. Carlisle followed her last wish and 'saved' Edward from death. When they were telling Rosalie the story, they didn't mention anything about any siblings. So the conclusion Rosalie came to was that they left it out when they told her -which was unlikely given the reactions Amanda got not; or that they were unaware of Edward having a sibling in total, which was probably the right conclusion.
Rosalie caught the warning glance and shut up. Carlisle mad wasn't something anyone wanted to see, so she didn't want to push him by being disrespectful to their guest and especially if there was a chance that they could be staying with them. She shot her hands up defensively in the air and put an innocent look on her face. She doubted that it would work, but it was fun to try.
Rosalie smirked when Carlisle asked if the two had an appointment to go to at school. "I don't." She replied. She knew that he would probably just flat out ask her to leave if he had to go down that route, and she'd be okay with that, but she preferred to at least try and manage her way into the conversation. She saw Alice and Jasper leave the room without a fight. But just because they did, didn't mean that Rosalie had to. Rosalie folded her arms across her chest; she would only leave now if Carlisle basically told her to leave. Rosalie chuckled when Alice was talking about her hair clip.

Emmett just nodded. He didn't need to be there. This girl was different, new and Edward's sister? Okay, well that was none of his buisness no matter how much he wanted to know about it. Looking at Rose, he raised an eyebrow at her, knowing she would want to stay.
"Come on Rose."He said tapping her arm. "Lets go." He looked around the room, nodding to his siblings and heading towards the stairs. He turned around to Carlisle with a smile. "See you guys later!"
He headed up the stairs, going to find something to do that didn't involve drama.

Rosalie felt Emmett tap her arm. She looked over at him and gave him a loving look. Behind the loving look was a look gesturing that she was trying to stay and hear what was going on. Had this not have been a bigger situation, she would have easily and simply obliged and left the room with her husband.
She heard and sensed Emmett leave and wanted to follow, but she would wait until Carlisle basically ordered her to leave. Though it was rare, Carlisle did get annoyed and basically ordered her to leave. It had happened before, but it was rare that it happened.

Amanda noticed that Rosalie was still in the room which made her very edgy mainly because the things she was able to read just by looking into her eyes bothered her obviously her life had been glamorous until things well went horrible wrong, she wound up being changed when she just wanted to die. She'd never used her gift to invade someone's thoughts, she wasn't trying to but at the same time rose's memories seemed to be very clear almost crystal but she didn't linger on that long she waited for carlisle to speak mainly because she wanted to know what he had say about what she'd just told him.

Carlisle watched gratefully as Alice gracefully left the room. She had paused at the last moment, looking as though she was about to speak, and the back of his mind tugged at that moment, but, as other things were more pressing, mainly the other vampire in the room, Carlisle's attention turned back to the girl on the couch next to him. Jasper followed directly behind his mate, which was to be expected, and the good doctor offered a parting nod at his youngest son as he left the room.
Amanda began to talk before every one had left, which surprised Carlisle. As intimidated as she had seemed by the group, he would have figured her to have been silent longer. Though what she said wasn't that much, nor did it offer much explanation as to her history. Perhaps she was more shy than he thought. Now that he paid closer attention to the supposed Masen than his children, the nervousness was obviously rolling off her in waves. He had to play devils advocate in his role though, he needed to know everything before he could convince Edward. Even then, he was unsure if the boy would accept it.
“Are you sure that you are kin to Edward, though?” He questioned, “I know that the Masen surname is not the most common. Understand I am only asking these questions to be sure.” He paused, hoping that he had not insulted her, and that she understood his role. So far he saw no reason that he should dislike the 'child'. The only feelings he had toward her at that point were curiosity, compassion and concern. How difficult it must be to feel so untethered in ones life.
Rosalie's movements caught Carlisle's attention, and he turned himself toward his oldest girl. The innocent facade she plastered on her face almost instantly failed to fool him, and an eyebrow reached skyward in reaction, silently stating 'you don't expect me to fall for that, do you?'. Her next words disturbed him even more. Suddenly the whole room became a lake covered in thin ice. He had to be careful where he treaded. He didn't want to push Rosalie into a jealous rage, one that he knew she was capable of, but at the same time he did not want their guest to feel unwelcome or even out of place.
He watched gratefully as his middle son left, asking his oldest daughter to go with him. However, Rosalie oh-so-obviously declined Emmett's request, leaving Carlisle, Rosalie and Amanda to be the only ones remaining in the sitting room. Although he had thought of asking Rose to leave, Carlisle felt that it would be an unwise move. She was already obviously edgy, and he felt for his child and all the hardships she had been through. “Very well my dear.” He said, shaking his head side to side as a knowing smile graced his lips. “Why don't you join us?” He asked, patting the seat to the other side of himself.
Maybe if she wasn't so defensive, maybe if she relaxed slightly, maybe then he could help Carlisle to sort through this mystery and help Amanda to feel welcome. He turned his attention to Amanda once more, this time his smile and eyes becoming apologetic. “We are quite a complex little family, as I am sure you can see.” He explained.
He turned the topic to her past once more, “So, I assume you were born in Chicago, then?” He inquired. “Do you happen to know what orphanage you were left in?” He couldn't believe that Elizabeth Masen would readily give up a child, much less that Edward would have forgotten something so important. Either the girl was mistaken, she had been given up when Edward was too young to remember or Edward was conveniently forgetting such important matters. The more information he could pull from her, the better he would be able to complete the tale.

'' Yes Sir my birth mother was Elizabeth.'' Amanda explained as she bit her lip feeling very on edge again because she could read rosalie's memories like they were her own, the things she'd experienced in her life only made it far more complex. Turning her head away from Carlisle, his oldest daughter amanda looked down at the floor, placed a strand of hair behind her ear as she tried to remember the name of the orphanage her mother had left her at then it came to her. '' The lady that ran it was named Agatha Carmichael, I can't remember the name of it sorry.'' She said feeling really bad she didn't remember the name of the orphanage but some how she remembered the lady that ran it.

Rosalie just continued to smile innocently as Carlisle gave her a look. She gave a light and graceful shrug as she read his look. Rosalie was somewhat mad that the attention wasn't focused on her for the time being, but she didn't make it visible to the whole room, she hid it behind her thoughts. Rosalie wanted to dearly be with her husband, but declinded his asking to and continued to stay with Carlisle and Amanda. Rose smiled as he accepted the fact that she would be staying in the room. She gracefully and swiftly moved over to where Carlisle gestured for her to sit and sat down beside him. "Talk about an understatement." Rosalie muttered as Carlisle told Amanda that they were a complex family.
Rosalie sat quietly as Carlisle asked questions about Amanda's past. She wasn't even born when Edward [and appearantly Amanda] were alive, so she didn't know much about this subject of the Masen lives. Rosalie was oblivious to the fact that Amanda could read her memories, but she noticed that she was biting her lip and grew questioned. She remained silent for if the question was not answered when Carlisle's questioning was completed.
{It's a teensy bit short}

Carlisle shot a glance toward Rosalie at her muttered comment as she sat. The warning turned into a broad smile once he realized that she was trying to include herself and her own humor into the conversation. Good. At least his beloved Rose was trying her best to be pleasant. He nodded as Amanda spoke, trying to gather what he could from the little that she said. So her mother was the same as Edward's, then. Or that's at least what the birth certificate said and what the girl had been told.
“Agatha Carmichael.” He repeated, setting the words to memory, knowing that as soon as this conversation was over he would go to his study and begin to call in favors from the Chicago area, starting a trail of research that he would follow until he found all the answers. “That's quite all right.” He assured the girl, “I am sure that I can find enough information with that.”
Amanda didn't seem interested in talking, and Carlisle was unsure what more he could ask, to pull information from her. He took Rosalie's hand and gave it a quick squeeze before standing, smoothing out the wrinkles on his slacks as he did so. “If you will excuse me, I'm going to go and make a few phone calls. Seeing what I can discover about all of this.” He said, his tone pleasant as his vision took in the two women on his couch. “Rose, would you mind setting Miss Masen up in one of the guest rooms?” He asked, hoping that his daughter would take the initiative and be kind. His attention turned to Amanda once more, “I will let you know the moment I discover anything.” He said, nodding to the girls once before leaving the room and heading up the stairs to his study.

Rosalie caught the look Carlisle was giving her and did nothing of it. It was her belief, and she was entitled to it as much as she wanted. She knew that as much as she wanted to be in this conversation, she couldn't; she didn't even exist in this time period, so she did her best to talk at times when it was only logical for her to make a point at. The places and people Carlisle and Amanda were mentioning were unknown and unfamiliar to Rosalie, so she kept her mouth shut while they discussed over it.
Rosalie looked down at her hand as Carlisle squeezed it. Uh-oh. That normally meant that something Rosalie wouldn't want to do, ever, was about to occur. She mentally groaned, figuring it was rude to groan out loud. Her head snapped in the direction of where Carlisle was standing and speaking. She forced her mouth to stay shut, to keep in a smart-alec response, something she might have normally done. "Well, I guess I have no choice but to do so." Rosalie replied as he left. She looked back at the other blonde with a look that could have been labeled as condescending, "Come on." She told Amanda as she stood up. "Let's go find you a guest room."

Amanda followed rosalie upstairs not really sure how long she was going to stay, she remembered she'd left all her bags in the car but she'd worry about them later. The poor girl's head wanted to scream because all the bad memory vibes she got from rosalie they all made her pretty nervous, she cringed every time she thought about one of them not that they were any of her business. She was just happy she had some place to stay, hoped that eventually edward would accept the fact that she was telling the truth in being his little sister weather she was a year younger then he was or not that didn't matter they were still related by blood well only half blood related but still related.
((Sorry I took so long, sorry it's not longer.))
