Edward got the mental message, and nodded, glad that she had fed, though still irritated by the way in which she had chosen to do it. He was grateful, though, that she was ready to go home. Home was so much safer than the outside world. If he could he'd confine her to the house until everything was solved, until the danger passed. He knew that she'd never allow that to occur, however, so he'd remain her constant companion until things where back to normal. Turning to follow Alice, Edward burst into a run, quickly catching up with her unmistakable form. Seeing her dance through the forest, or anywhere for that matter, always brought him elation. There was something so graceful and magical in the way she moved. Like she was indeed the pixie that many people described her as.
Just as he was about to catch up with her, something beyond horrible happened. He watched as her form twisted unnaturally, and heard the sound of her pain echoing through the woods and down the mountains. Birds fled the trees at the noise, rabbits ran in all directions and deer bounded through the brush. At the same time an image burned into his mind, causing him to stop short. An ominous figure approached, ill will rolling off it in waves. As Alice fell to the ground, Edward did the same, his legs buckling beneath him as he slowly fell to his knees. His sister continued to writhe and scream, but the second Cullen could neither hear nor see her. All that he could 'see' was the horrific image of Alice, his beloved Alice, her eyes unseeing, her body strangely contorted and unmoving. An anguished cry ripped from between his lips at the sight. That wasn't happening, it couldn't, he wouldn't let it happen.
Her continued screams broke through his mind and Edward began to struggle to his feet, still unable to see clearly as he stumbled toward the heartbreaking noises. Another vision transferred from her mind to his and while in this one she was alive and well, she was not the Alice he knew and loved. Bodies were strewn about her and an evil grin tore across her so often friendly features as she looked upon the bloodless with her burgundy eyes. Edward saw himself turn away from the woman he loved more than any other, the disappointment of his vision-self clear on his face. He knew now that couldn't possibly be a vision. Nothing could be so wrong. No matter what Alice did, he knew none of the Cullens would abandon her. After all, they had embraced Edward with open arms when he returned.
By this time, Edward had found he way to her side, his jeans covered in dirt from the forest floor. Alice's plea brought him back to reality and the blinding visions that she had transferred vanished, only the scalding memories of them still burned in his brain. His sight returning Edward saw the piece of his heart that lay on the ground, blood covering her face as it continued to escape from her mouth. Jasper brushed past Edward in an almost violent manner, and Edward could read the jealousy that his brother felt. They shouldn't have kept this from him, they should have told him more. But Alice was always so concerned about him, and Edward respected her over all of the other of his siblings. His golden eyes lingered on his brother's lean face, his features apologetic, echoing the single word that Alice felt.
In a blur Edward removed his cell phone from his pocket and dialed. He had to force his fingers to slow, or else the phone wouldn't recognize the key strokes. It rang only once before Carlisle answered, and Edward only said two words. “It's Alice.” As quickly as the conversation had started, it was over and Edward's phone was back in its proper place. His arms worked their way under Alice's small body as he cradled her to his chest. Glancing at his brother one more Edward held his eyes for half-a-second before taking off in the woods at top speed heading for the house.

Alice was barely aware of what was happening, the one thing that repeated in her mind was the looks on Jasper and Edwards face in her vision. She felt broken, not just physically but emotionally too knowing that this might be her future. She heard Edward say something, though she felt so strange she had never felt this way, so distant as if nothing in the real world actually existed. She could smell the blood, her blood? She didnt know but she guessed so. She still felt blood trickling from her nose and eyes, her mouth filled with the taste and dispite her hunger now it had no effect on her.
She opened her eyes looking for Jasper, she needed him, she wanted him close. She had lied to him to protect him and now everything had gone wrong. Her vision was tinted from the blood, she couldnt see properly. She tried taking in a breath to speak but it was like breathing in blood, there was a soft gurgle in her throat before she gave up. She felt someones arms underneath her lifting her, it almost felt like she was floating. She wondered if this is what it felt like to be dying? She knew nothing of mortal matters, she never dreamed she would ever need to know for herself.
As Edward held her her eyes opened again, slightly clearer this time her eyes caught Jaspers and the look on his face burned into her memory along with the one she had seen in the vision. She mouthed his name, as well as looking to Edward **Tell Jasper... I'm Sorry** She closed her eyes again and felt as Edward took off through the trees, she was scared of the future now, more scared than she had ever been in her entire life.

Crouched beside Alice, his expression pinched, Jasper couldn't help, but smell the blood. It was sickly sweet and made him tighten his jaw. He had yet to catch anything of his own and he wasn't going to until the rest of this was sorted. His lifted his dark eyes to Edward, glaring at him despite the apology written all over the golden boy's face. Jasper wasn't in the mood for it. He refocused on Alice again, his jaw tight, a deep scowl on his face. He closed his eyes, shaking his head furiously, trying to ignore the blood.
He heard Edward moving, getting out his cell phone. He even recongized the combination of key strokes. Carlisle. He closed his eyes as Edward spoke, then moved over to him and Alice, picking Alice up. Without opening his eyes, he snarled, "get out of here." He slowly stood as Edward ran off, his beloved Alice pulled close to his chest. Why couldn't he be the saviour? Anger bubbled throughout his body the more he thought about it. Where was everyone else? Hopefully far enough away to avoid his anger.
He growled loudly before falling back against a tree and covered his face with his hands. He rubbed his eyes furiously, feeling the venom burn the finely tuned organs. The burn in his throat wasn't helping his want to focus again. He opened his eyes, blinking furiously, dropping his hands now, only to bring them back up and run then back through his golden curls, grabbing at his hair as he looked around the area he was in. He should follow them, but not like this. This wouldn't help at all.
